Locally we have the smallest Home Depot in the USA. They have NEVER had anything but succulents until this year. This year I got a variegated string of hearts. The Lansing, MI store had more. But a year ago they told me they werent going to continue selling house plants. Oh my goodness! Both of your stores had stuff I would buy. I absolutely freaked out over the variegated string of hearts. I bought a cutting that didnt survive during covid for $20 and drove 35 miles one way to get it. I even had it under a grow light like the lady told me. If I saw a silver sword or a Syngonium albo at a store cheap I would die. When I find multiple at a store like these variegated string of hearts, I buy my daughter One and my daughter-in-law One. They sort of light plants, so I just tell him these are rare. Or used to be. The day I bought the string of hearts I bought three and there were six available.
This is hilarious- first two plants you pick up are the same two I got last week!! I am in Canada in Nova Scotia- other side of the continent buying the same plants! One thing I do- and I suggest you give it a go. When I see a plant I want that is not in the best shape, I always ask for a discount- and they do give it. Love your videos!!
I found some awesome deals on rare stuff I e been wanting this fall already ❤ A Billie in a hanging planter? Interesting? Is that Philo a Red Sun maybe? Wow never heard of Kathleen! I’ll avoid our Home Depot unless I’m there when they get a new delivery, they overwater to the extreme I picked up those camo homalnomenas, tried 2 in semi hydro, died immediately, planted 2 together and put them under a cloche, they’re still kicking for now, apparently they need huge humidity I want that Gilded Tower orchid!! Reminds me of the Coconut orchid I want so badly! I don’t understand the painted cacti, nor the ones with glued on paper flowers, rediculous
Your big box stores have good selections. I would have jumped at that Hoya Latifolia Albomarginata. I haven’t seen that in our big box stores but they’re everywhere at our local nurseries and for really good price as well. Philodendron Kathleen is apparently a hybrid of Prince of Orange x McColley’s Finale. Beautiful plant and great find.
Girlfriend, you talk super fast when you're excited 😅. You have a great husband who's not only right there with you but is supportive on your plant journey 🪴😊🪴
I work at Lowe’s and I’m a Green Vest. I take care of all the plants. Those painted cacti, we have found, tend to rot 😢 and no, we aren’t overwatering them to cause that. I’m wondering if it’s because the paint blocks their stomata…. Also, we cut those stupid plastic flowers off the cacti when we get them in. 😂 Houseplants never get cheaper during the wintertime. Just the Garden Center outside plants.
Oooh thanks for the insider info! 😁💜 I’m sorry you have to deal with the spooky painted cacti but thanks for sharing your experience 🥲 yes I bet you’re right they get sickly from having everything all clogged up with paint..
I had a non-planty friend gift me a purple painted succulent (it had a unicorn pot with drainage and they knew I love purple) but it actually really thrived for a year and a half. It was super funny with its new growth coming in au natural. I remember joking with my husband how ‘her roots were showing’ 😂😂😂 I ended up plucking some juicy leaves to propagate because I didn’t have the heart to ‘redo her dye job’
I would always choose the fuller plant and healthy one if possible. Also if there are only a few minor leaves can always clean it up if the plant is good price. That Scindapus is beautiful love the silvery leaves. But i don’t like when they grow leggy and small leaves. The variegated Ficus is gorgeous I probably would have gotten one.
Looking for a plant ID and I couldn’t catch the name. It’s the beautiful tall green leaves with silver dappling. At Lowe’s just after the Halmenomena Camouflage. You say it’s similar to a peace lily. I picked one up labeled Agleomena “plant” 😂. But it’s not like any other Ag that I have, it’s WAY more dramatic and flops completely over when it decides to need water. Thank you and super fun to see what’s out there!
I’m so jealous you had that albo synogonium at your location. My location doesn’t have those but did have some albo epi which is very different than what has been there during the grow season.
I love a good knockoff kislux because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing. Thatâs the part. Thatâs it. I feel like people discriminate against knockoffs, but for me, Iâll pause when buying a trendy big-ticket item or when I feel the over-consumption frenzy is coming for me.
I think Plants with Krystal has a video of her removing the paint off one of those cactuses. Sadly, I think the roots ended up being rotted after all that effort T - T
The philo fat boys get big fast so don’t worry it will get huge sooner then you think 😊🌱 also keep checking hd and Lowe’s in your area Cali always gets the cool ones around this time I’ve seen Florida ghosts, anthurium queens etc I’ve been waiting for my state to get them so far only got the ghosts and some queen anthurium and other anthurium I haven’t seen in bbs!
My husband would say let’s go you have enough plants. But you can never have enough. I usually go back with my daughter and buy it. Then I have to sneak it in the house. 🤔
a return policy of 6 months to a year??😲 you could literally buy a plant, take cuttings, grow the cuttings, grow the mother plant back to its former size and return the plant 😅
This was a fun haul! The painted cacti is painted with a kinda paint thats plant safe. I know a lot of plant people hate the painted cacti sometimes in the display boxes around those plants they give you the info on the paint. I got one of those on clearance as a rescue one year and its alive and kicking.

What’s the growth habit of that fat stemmed Philo?
I’m currently in Europe for 3 weeks. Not sure how many plants I’ll have left when I get back 😀.
Your big box stores have good selections. I would have jumped at that Hoya Latifolia Albomarginata. I haven’t seen that in our big box stores but they’re everywhere at our local nurseries and for really good price as well.

Ah it’s true about the fast talking 🏃♀️➡️🗣️😅 sometimes I edit my footage down to 90% speed so I’m comprehensible lol
He’s really the best 🥰 I’m lucky he also likes plants 😁💜✨🪴 thx for watching have a great week!
@@reallybigplant lol...I just think that it's funny. Your passion comes through🪴👍
I'd love to see you repot the second plant you got. I'm curious to see what its roots look like. It's so chonky!

Thank you. I’m going to my local garden centre next week to seek out a bargain.have a great week hun.
Pretty sure the plant with the orange leaves is a philo Prince of Orange

I got so excited when I saw you uploaded a new video and clicked on it so fast 🫶🏼
Home Depot, Lowes, Target and Walmart Price Match and so does most other stores!
Talk to the each individual store about this.
Lowes was hoping last week. Got a philodendron fat boy and a silver sword. I was so happy, never heard about the fat boy before.
I started typing before I saw the whole video..lol. My friend ran over after me because she loved the fat boy so much, and she bought two.
My go-to greenhouse has had small baby philo Kathleens for a while but i never knew they got that big!!
I think Plants with Krystal has a video of her removing the paint off one of those cactuses. Sadly, I think the roots ended up being rotted after all that effort T - T
Enjoyed thank u
Love your videos. Have you had a chance to explore smaller, local plant stores? Would love to see a video of that!

so much better than the big box stores in illinois
California Lowes is SO different, in terms of what's available and from which growers! NY looks nothing like that!
Neither does the South carolina ones 😢
💚
I had to hat orange philodendron it releases a-lot of EFN. I kept it for a long time, but the EFN was too much to keep up with it.
I'm a little south of Chicago and it has been down into the 30s a couple of times already. BURRrrrrrrr
❤❤❤❤❤❤
found a thai constellation about two weeks ago in the i.e. ! Stater Bro
Which stater Bros?
Yay!! That’s awesome!! 🤩💜✨ stater is amazing 🪴
@pinkdiamond5482 I got mine from one in Winchester 💜
My husband would say let’s go you have enough plants. But you can never have enough. I usually go back with my daughter and buy it. Then I have to sneak it in the house. 🤔
Haha same

How many plants do you have?
Philodendron Martianum AKA Fat Boy
Fat boy!!!!😁😁😁💜✨✨✨
Plant names at the big box stores are not always right

Don't get painted ones they die my daughter bought me one for my birthday and in 2 days it rotted out I was so dissapointed it was not watered by me
I think the kislux bag and shoes should be the best replicas in the world
