I was amused to see the Vista Star scooting off the lake like a shark was after her. Watching the waves, in the canal, it's easy to understand why she didn't want to stay out there. The Tiberborg looked great, coming in light, off the lake. For such a small saltie, she impressive. And don't worry about the sound of the wind, in the video! It adds a bit of emphasis to the efforts you put in to produce these videos for us landlubbers around the country to see. Our thanks.
@@bevpearson8268 glad you’re safe! Had some tornadoes up in this area about a month ago, always a little scary regardless of the actual chances of getting hit! Weirdly thrilling though as well!
Sweet video and interesting write-up! Hope no one got sick on the Vista Star! It did look like it was bobbing around quite a bit! That was a nice angle you got on that ship, and it looked massive on approach! Sounds like it will be doing a lot of travel far away from here apart it departs! Thanks for the fun video! I was happy to see it!
@@DressyBessie thank you! Same, I hope everyone had a good time despite the waves lol. Been trying to find a good angle for salties for a long time! They’re some of the most impressive vessels but it’s extremely difficult to convey that on film, so they don’t often get the attention they deserve! Glad I found one that actually worked!
@@jonathanellsworth21 Yes waves on a boat can actually be fun sometimes! The speed probably helped! I'm sure not too often you would experience a ride like that on the Vista Star! 😄
@@sillarsscott7694 Montreal is just a pit stop, they’ll cross the Atlantic for sure, otherwise a Canadian laker would have taken the shipment, rather than a saltie! I’ll update the description when it’s known what their final stop will be! And yeah she’s pretty different!
What happens if the bridge has people on it, and it needs to be raised ? At the start of this video I saw people on the bridge and thought of this question.
@@dmmchugh3714 doesn’t happen, the bridge has cameras all over so they know if anyone tries to go up with it, plus they raise the bridge at least 10 minutes before any large ship arrives, so they have plenty of time to let people cross or call off the ship and intervene if needed

@@user-AZ-phil lol 😂 yeah I’m surprised they even went out in the first place. And yes Tiberborg looks FAR larger than 565ft long!
Found myself holding my breath as she went under the bridge. 😮
What a totally different and interesting type of ship she is to the usual ones.
@@pixie706 yeah she’s tall! Tight fit through there! I love the unusual ships!
I am always amazed by the size of the onboard cranes. Good looking Saltie
Hard to believe these are “small” cranes! She’s a very good looking saltie for sure!
It is always nice to see a Dutch ship far from home.🇳🇱
@@peterw1609 glad to have you here, far from the lakes! We get quite a few Dutch vessels come to Duluth!
I thought it was a Laker until I read the description. Thanks for the video!
@@davidellis2021 yep, she’s a saltie! I think the only laker with deck cranes is Harvest Spirit, and she’s never been to Duluth yet
@@jonathanellsworth21 Thanks. I watch these video's from Switzerland were we don't have the laker/saltie confusion!

They do! Very clean ships, especially for oceangoing vessels

What a gorgeous ship! Nice way to end the day after having to hide from tornadoes all day here in Upstate NY! Who'd a thought!!!

One of my favorite life experiences was on a cruise ship in a hurricane

Showing a lot of bulbous bow. Must be empty. That was a great piece.
Thanks for sharing
It is unlike other ships that I have seen
I Ju googled it
Apparently it is on the way to Montreal
