The first one is surprisingly good for being released in like 2013.

@Gex i feel the same, also 8 years is a lot for the gaming industry; maybe lego games aren't the best examples but look at games like FIFA: FIFA 14 is a lot different than FIFA 22
"Not much happened since 2013" would make sense if you look at how many breakthroughs we got in gaming industry. Making a fun and original game is something you now can expect only from indie developers.
We got a couple of good ones, but just compare how exciting E3 was back then and the trash they present to you nowadays.
The things definitely got stale and not as exciting.
Mediocre shit gets so much praise just for attempts at being fun.

Main issue I have with LMSH2 is that a lot of basic designs are from the movies. I'd much prefer the comic book looks as default and have the MCU designs as alts.

I think it’s really less about the MCU designs, and more about them trying to put characters with actual mini figures on the market in the game, so they can sell more LEGO. That’s why we simultaneously get comic iron man and movie black panther. I agree that primarily comic would make it so much bétter tho.
I completely agree w Spider-Man for example is horrible that they use the mcu design but w others like antman it rlly wouldn’t have been hard to implement his design from the movies

i had so many memories with the first game i would spend the entire day just messing around in free roam. when my cousins came over to my house i would role play with them with the characters. now recently my xbox 360 disc for the game is scratched and i cant play it no more but i saw this game when it came out and i had to get it. i didnt get it until recently and now im making new memories. Lego Marvel Superheros 1 was my favorite game and still is (ill choose it over 2) when i saw your video i smiled and cried idk why i guess the sight of that game made the memories come back. All i have to say is thank you for making this video and thank you for bringing me back the my childhood, the good old days. :)
I grew up up with the first. I legit beat the game (story mode) in two whole days but it's nostalgic.

I like the 1st game more. I liked the story more. I liked the red bricks with Deadpool, I liked the avengers mansion. The first game had the X-men and fantastic four. I liked the way the city felt. Not a huge fan of the hub world thing in the last 2 games
Lego seems to like doing hub worlds now. I liked how in Batman 2 and Marvel 1 it was just one world, and 1 setting. With the "side areas" like the Liberty island and the raft

I think they're using it to emphasize their point, not like how people use it to stall their sentences. I can understand it being seen that way, but I guess it's just natural to stammer to try and express complicated thoughts. It's better than using "ummm" in my opinion :v
The second two were unfortunately more focused on the mcu. The first was based on the comics. I liked it better when it was comics based

I actually loved Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 more than 2, only thing I find an upgrade on is some character gameplay (like spiderman as he can climb any wall) And some character models (Guardians Of the Galaxy mostly)

@@charm.9929 Three were still a lot of comic designs in 2 and all the main avengers(Iron man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, etc) were all based off their MCU designs while the second one had them all in their more comic bases designs

I dislike the fact that, since the second game has more inspiration on the cinematic universe, it misses on a lot of characters, and I do prefer good old New York to that crazy hub world. But I have to admit that the character creation in 2 is WAY better, we can actually create a decent character without having to make some weird stuff, and I also like the speedsters, I was kinda sad Quicksilver wasn't in LMSH 1
I hate that they didn't include the xmen. a whole marvel faction missing from a lego game that's supposed to be about the whole marvel universe is really bad

The second game has a way better roster for the simple inclusion of Nadia Van Dyne.
It's intresting to see that they changed it to make each character more like real lego in the second game, characters with fire heads had moving fire in the first game which was changed to a solid fire piece in the second examples 2:36 and 3:06 , some effects such as lighting coming off of characters have been removed completely, here 2:48 as well as the glow on lokis staff seen here 4:08 , I guess they couldn't find a way represent the lighting or staff energy with real lego pieces.

you gotta love how people hate how they used mcu designs in the second game but they also prefer the movie designs over the comic designs
I’m in the majority who prefers the first game, but I’d argue the sequel is just as good. Sucks that FF and X-Men were cut, but I actually think the forced limitations benefited the creativity of the game. It allowed more obscure or lesser known characters to get the spotlight. Will there ever be another Marvel game where characters like Stingray, Korvac, Nathan Garrett’s Black Knight or Attuma get the spotlight? Not to mention they included a lot of multiverse characters.

the first game has better graphic the characters are more polished and closer to the comic design i like some of the new ones though and some of the cinematic universe just the graphic isn't polished like the first one

Arya Nugraha the second game has, objectively, higher poly count for character props and more detail in character textures and reflections. The first game gives every minifig a 100% glossy material despite minifigs in real life having much softer reflections

I remember the good old times that I played as kingpin on NYC just helping citizens or relaxing in the park. So much nostalgia 🙂
I like them both. It's a mixed bag. Both have great designs for most characters but both have some wth is this characters as well. I wish the lightning, fire, and other effects still were carried over to the second one as the first beats them on that aspect. I heard the second one had way better controls so that's a notch for them but the store was better on the first one I heard. I have to get it to judge myself.
A lot of the effects did carry over is just that some characters don't have it on their idle animations
