The "Coram attacks, gets blocked, gets pumped, gets countered, gets re-pump, and a dash of OG lightning bolt" moment is the reason why commander is so freaking awesome...
Always great to see "generic good staples" losing, specially with enough pressure that one has to cast a targeted Rift AND a full cost Force of Will. A very entertaining honest grind with a spectacular ending. Best Lightning Bolt I've seen in a while.
Along with the demonic tutor, and Decklist showing other fast mana like ancient tomb and mana vault, Sauron was on another level compared to the rest..
Merry Christmas Muddstah!!! Hope you had a great day. I love this kind of game, and that Sauron deck was something else. PD: I know the opening hands are coming back, but please bring back the music. It was kind of needed.
I like seeing what arca did there I use his breena deck list in my own pod quite frequently and I could see how Olivia is just a better breena it’s a very very similar list between the 2 decks the only issue i have ever had with arca’s breena list is drawing 15 cards a turn 😂
I used to love your videos. But now with all the changes… I still do! Your content is still my favorite gameplay content! Whatever changes you make, it is the conciseness of the videos, coupled with the occasional dry quips during your voiceover, that make them so fun. Keep up the amazing work.
Is anyone getting a bit tired of the limited starting play patterns emerging. Now that dockside etc and crypt are gone it's the same play patterns over and over, mystic or rustic or esper otherwise your shit out of luck. They need to do something.
I know a lot of people like opening hands, but honestly I don't really care for it lol. I really liked the format of this episode with: game, post-game talk, then ads. I'll be sad to see it go.
When you amass you make an army and put a counter on it if you don't already control one. If you do, you just continue to add counters to it. Thanks to Maskwood Nexus all of Arca's creatures were armies and therefore he could place the counters on any of them.
I think it would be very interesting to hear a bit about the rule 0 discussion, maybe as a quick summary along with showing opening hands. The Sauron deck had a budget of a mortgage, and I think hearing the players thoughts and context going into the game would entice me to watch the full game. Otherwise I just assume the video is a wash and click away. It's also hard to recommend these videos to friends (especially those that I've recently introduced to mtg) since it doesn't give them a fair picture of what is reasonable to bring to which kinds of tables. In all other ways tho, this will always be my go to for casual magic. Thank you Andrew
The lack of opening hands on this current format doesn't give us a good insight into how each player kept their opening hand and what exactly their opening game plan was here, please let them return in future videos. They were very helpful
Muddstah's playgroup HATES equipment decks. You should see that one Syr Gwyn game from old times, got tunneled out of the game while someone else was allowed to combo off in peace and quiet.
Opening hands were one of the best features, getting a sneak peak of how people built their decks and knowing what to expect was very fun and helpful
They’re coming back! I’m just usually two weeks ahead of my publication, so it takes time for changes to roll out.
The "Coram attacks, gets blocked, gets pumped, gets countered, gets re-pump, and a dash of OG lightning bolt" moment is the reason why commander is so freaking awesome...
I liked how Arca started picking up his permanents when Mathieu cast Cyclonic Rift, because imagine not casting it for its overload cost.
Please bring back doing opening hands.

Rhystic and free counter magic in a casual game where you have the strongest commander by a mile is crazy work

Still lost though 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I’d be interested if the “CEDH” esq cards were disclosed in a pre game conversation.
Isn't every game on this channel high power?
This comment section shows people don't play interaction like they should and it's a skill issue

Great video as always! Would love the return of some quiet background music on these videos. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! I think if I had to edit future videos I probably do it this way
Intro -> opening hands -> gameplay -> ads -> closing thoughts.

Mathieu had a lot of answers here. Great game!
I made a $50 USD deck of Gisa, the Hellraiser. It’s pretty fun and it kills really fast with a couple of zombie lords out.
Merry Christmas!!
Mathieu’s deck couldn’t have been more generic sheesh. Definitely on another power level than the rest of the table.

That ruin raider was painful.

Were some Selvala draw triggers missed? It's symmetrical
How did the nightscape familiar get a counter? Sauron amass orc armies.
Maskwood Nexus things makes everything an orc army
@@Niehmgreat synergy too!

Why no deck list for Cap!?
No Capt Decklist?
Quick question, I thought Sauron made an army on each opponent spell cast. Is Mat putting those counter on Sauron in the form of +1 +1?

@@Tongarism that's a really interesting interaction I didn't think about. Putting it in my saruman deck
@@Tongarism Thank you! totally forgot about the maskwood nexus on the field.
I love Sauron!
At 1:38 i believe max should’ve drawn off of playing captain america, from Selvala.
Thanks for making me aware of Kediss to put in my coram deck never seen any youtuber mention it in any deck teck 🤫
I’d highly recommend Kediss in any deck that has red and lives for combat. He is deceptively strong!
Where's the music...? 🤔
Just wanted to add my voice to I miss the hands being shown

Bring back opening hands
Love it when it gets to meat of the video and doesnt tey to fluff up the time in the beginning.

They were very helpful
Yipee sauron
dang mathieu got dog walked lmao imagine not winning with that board state
really underrated game tbh
Man, they really don't like Cap, huh?

🤗🤗🤗
Could we get a game that isnt UB?
please remove these "blips" when showing the sponsors. Just annoying!
Please, less Universe Beyond commanders...
Why? They are probably the most popular commanders at this point.
Max cheated. The Kirin would had fallen off of puresteel due to protection of white
