    I heard the show was bad, but this is pure torture 😂. I found 10x more humor in the commentary than a single clip depicted.

    I found out Mindy doesn't write or create the show but this guy named Charlie Grandy who somehow wrote for the Office.
    (IDK if this changes anything, since Mindy is the producer, but it's interesting that someone who wrote for THE OFFICE wrote this)
    To be fair he also writes SNL so that makes sense

      When you say wrote for the office how much of a hand did he have throughout all those seasons also I'd like to think he came in later seasons when the show got pretty underwhelming

    This show could've been so good. If only they kept old characters but added more violence and good mature comedy, like imagine Fred cutting off a zombie's leg or something. It would add something new and entertaining. Such a bummer.

      If the show wasn't mean spirited you could have had a Velma who was investigating a murder and all signs pointed to Fred because he's this weird guy who drives around in a van, always going to hardware stores for things like rope, pulleys, burlap sacks and stuff that makes him look like he was the killer but really, it's just Freddy being the guy who likes to build traps and drive around in his cool van.
      Shaggy could have been seen as a suspect because he's viewed as this odd stoner guy whose best friend is a dog, but Velma could learn that he's just a nice foodie with a talking dog.
      Daphne could have been seen as the killer because they think she's just a vapid bimbo who is killing the other pretty girls because they stole her man or something.
      Each one being wrong until Velma herself is accused of being the killer because wouldn't she be in the perfect position to tamper with the crime scenes so anything found by the police she could say, I was just investigating. And then when she's at her lowest, she realizes she can't do this alone and goes to Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby for help and she apologizes for thinking they were the killers, and they let it go because they realize that together they can solve the mystery by using their strengths.
      But nope, we got Mindy Kahling's repressed anger at her high school years because she was unpopular before she went off to an Ivy League School her rich parents paid for entirely and then she was allowed to fail up into the entertainment industry rather than actually struggle to find work with her talents, it was all given to her because of her family connections.

      @@Gorpy_1 Yeah, it takes barely any effort to write a more modernized, adult version of the 60 year old characters while still keeping core identities intact that Mindy failed at one of the easiest writing task possible just shows how shit she is as a human being.

      @@StevenTLawson wow I’m honestly shocked at how good this sounds. I wonder if there were similar ideas presented to be a new scooby doo show that were scrapped for what Velma ended up being instead.

    The weird problem with agendas are, it ruins the work of good writers too. Minndy kailing is a very good writer as her work from the office shows but these agendas fed into other's brains just make the writing more awful than it actually is

    after watching the first episode of this show , i hated it. and i was angry at the show and why was it even passed to stream on any platform.
    then i remembered all those scenes from ' the office ' . disrespecting the creator. and wanted that all to happen again .

    I've seen videos claim that Velma's character is based on the shows creator, and that seems entirely accurate. That makes it so funny, when you think about it. Every character in the Scooby Gang, is attracted t Velma. This would make absolutely no sense, considering that Velma is a dumpy, over weight, horrible person, Indian chick. No one would ever want a person like this. It only makes sense when we realize that the shows creator, is this exact type of person. So, this is fan fiction, wish fulfillment. Got it. And considering the low review score, I think everyone else gets it as well.

    I'm not white and I also think this show is racist. It's also unfunny and maybe worst of all a blemish on one of the most iconic and beloved shows ever created. How no one in that writers room stood up and told Mindy Kaling this sucked is mindblowing

    Those racial commentaries do not belong in Scooby-Doo, or at least it could be a little bit more subtle. But white privilege has nothing to do with economical status, in fact it points it out even more. There could be a black person, and a white person both have the same job, live in the same place, and be equally as impoverished, but one of those people has an advantage simply based on the color of their skin. If those two people were to get pulled over simultaneously Guess which one would literally be in fear of their life?

    This show just confirms what I have been saying all along. It's not enough to worry about LGBT themes in shows. Having LGBT people work in any part of a production ensures that this type of thing keeps happening. It's not enough for them to simply exist. They wont be happy unless they are pushing it on us too.
    This was also an argument I had about gay friends. I've had them many times over the years. However, I began to notice that to gay friends I was always a second class friend. I could never be a full friend unless I was either a woman or gay too. They think of straight men as second class citizens. We can never be as cool or as enlightened as them. This carries over into film and television/ streaming. They can never work on a show, and not feel it is their moral obligation to make everyone as gay as they are.

    • @MeepChangeling
      @MeepChangeling 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Couldn't agree with you more on how fucking awful it can be when people crowbar LGBT themes into existing IPs. That's why as a gay person I write for gay people, not you. I also don't work in existing IPs outside of fanfics I do for fun.
      As for the rest of it, you literally couldn't be more wrong. Please continue judging 10% of humanity based on the actions of a few thousand loud toxic idiots tho. That's a human tradition!

  • @bemoore4
    @bemoore4 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I don't think you quite understand how "white privilege" works. It's not saying that every white person simply has an easier life than every Black person--simply because of skin color.
