    Great evaluation here, very well done. I am considering one of these, an ad just went up on CL and this is a super find for us to see this. Appreciated!

    That's a pretty cool model sportsman, I wish they still made it

    I love my 2015. With the dump box, the dog can go with me to ride or run with me. When he gets tired, he can ride. It’s good to haul things around and easily dump fire wood or whatever. And if we have a bunch that want to go trail riding, I’ve got an extra seat for someone to go along. Great little machine. I love the turf on the tranny as it doesn’t tear up the yard. I wish they still made it instead of that 6 wheeler.

      They really are a do it all atv! I’m glad you enjoy yours and sounds like you get many uses out of it.

    I bought a 2009 Sportsman 500 X2 from a friend a couple years ago. I really like it. If it didn’t have the dump box it wouldn’t be nearly so useful. Not much is different from that one to the one you’re demonstrating. 10 years and 70 more CCs. I do wish all three lights would go on when high beams are on. Is there a solution to that? I’m not crazy for hanging on to mine indefinitely, right?

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Eric Wanner The sportsman 500 can be a very reliable atv I wouldn’t call you crazy for wanting to keep something that works great for you. As far as the headlights go you could wire the headlights to all come on but the 500’s charging system wasnt designed to have all 3 lights running at the same time so it may be harder on the stator and battery if you do.

    Looks like a pretty nice and solid all around machine. How would you say the Polaris 570 compares in power to an older Yamaha Grizzly 660 or Grizzly 700?

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @AMF96 I use to own a 2008 Yamaha grizzly 700 and my buddy had a 2014 Polaris sportsman 570. We’ve raced multiple times, the grizzly 700 won every time but not by a lot. The grizzly would jump out front by a quad length or 2 at the beginning, then the sportsman 570 would stay right with it until around 50 then the grizzly would pull away slowly.
      They both have plenty of power, the grizzly is a more playful snappy feeling where the sportsman 570 has a much smoother power curve.

      @@rockspowersports Good to know. Thank you! 👍 I may be buying a 2008 Yamaha Grizzly 700 listed for sale near me soon.

    I almost bought an used 2016 x2 recently but instead opted for the used 2017 base 850 the dealer had. Not sure if I made the right choice on machine but both are great in their own way.

    • @rockspowersports

      They are both good machines. I bought a new 850 back in 2014 and I loved that motor plenty of power and it’s very smooth.

      @@rockspowersports What has impressed me the most is the fuel economy of the 850. I'm easily doubling what my dads 02 sportsman 400 gets for milage.

    Thanks for the Vidéo. Would you say Turf mode is a must-have for touring use, partly on small roads ?

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turf mode is only really noticeable on grass when you don’t want to tear stuff up. Touring use riding on roads and trails you really wouldn’t use turf you would just use 2x4

      Actually, I have noticed that my 800 X2 at 1000lbs with me aboard tears up the ground worse in 1 wheel drive and gets along fine in H2 for 90% of terrain.

    Hey Rock, I’m looking to get a new atv. I’m looking at a Polaris 570 trail or a grizzly 700 both new. What is your opinion on the two? The grizzly is about 3k more. Looking to plow and general use no mudding or anything. Thanks

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  ปีที่แล้ว

      @sdm07120 I’ve owned both and for playing around I prefer the grizzly however for work the extra weight of the sportsman will be better than the grizz. They both trail ride nice. And honestly power wise there is not a huge difference, the grizzly has more bottom end kick than the 570. If the grizzly is 3k more I’d personally go with the sportsman 570. If they were priced the same it would be a tough decision for me.

    • @Sdm07120
      @Sdm07120 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rockspowersports thanks a lot for the feed back. Yeah I personally like the grizz a bit better being that it’s reliable and the build quality is solid and I like the looks. However, the trail edition sportsman’s are really nice they have a lot of nice upgrades over the standard sportsman that is intriguing. The 3k difference is def a factor and hard to look past.

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sdm07120 It’s definitely a pretty good difference in price but I’m sure you’ll be happy with either machine you choose. Let me know what you end up going with.

      @@rockspowersports hey rock. Ended up getting a 24 trail edition. I really like it. It’s only got 2 miles on it so far as I mainly bought it to plow with. I did notice at very slow speeds like 1 or 2 mph when I let off the gas it makes a clunk sound sometimes. You ever encounter that? Is it normal? I’ve heard it could be drive line slack a lot of ppl say it’s normal on Polaris’s I’m just not use to it coming from other brands. Thanks
