Never saw Zepp...Saw Jimmy do the violin bow solo with the Firm, which was cool,
later saw Page/Plant in Lexington Ky, best show of my life...

So that boot section in the 1977 tour was basically a big long solo section for Jimmy in which he had up a whole bunch of delay and other effects on his guitar, and he would employ the theremin as well as the cello bow and it would immediately proceed and blend right into the beginning of Achilles Last Stand. The idea of being each person has a 15 or 20 minutes solo in which the rest of the band gets to take a break during the 3 hour concert. John Paul Jones had his piano solo in the middle of No Quarter, John Bonham had the drum solo and then this was Jimmy's take on the same thing. In Prior years, it had been his botw solo during the middle of Dazed and Confused that fit this part.

Bad Company was signed with Zeppelins record company, called Swan Song. I believe they were the first band signed with them. Led Zeppelin helped them get started. I hate when Zeppelin are called a metal band, they say themselves, they aren’t a metal band.

Yeah, the "swing" in the drums and groove in the rhythm with much of Zeppelin's music would be the best examples of why they were a Rock band and not Metal.

@ hard rock at times, but that wasn’t all they did, certainly not heavy metal.

Heavy Blues, is how I see them.

@@williambenner701 yes I’d definitely say that, far more then heavy metal, they loved the blues & performed it excellent.

But not always blues based either. I always thought of their music as hard rock but incorporating many other genres.

I met Robert , Jimmy and Ahmet in NYC March 1998. They were sitting right behind me at a restaurant. I spoke with Ahmet, Robert brought his drink over and we chatted, and Jimmy and I took a piss together.

Sucks that this band can not play today. Bonzo’s death is still so tragic. I always wanted to see Van Halen and zeppelin on the same bill. Love Led Zeppelin

Jimmy Page also used the violin bow--and performed live music with Paul Rogers for the first time--during the A.R.M.S. tour in the early 1980s 😁

Here is Jimmy's solo section. This is from the Los Angeles Forum in 1977. It immediately follows John Bonham's drum solo and then goes directly into perhaps the very best live performance of Achilles Last Stand. Cheers.

I saw them in Seattle in '77, That was a whole different band than the Led Zep I saw in Portland in 1972. In '77, they pulled off a half dozen of the several songs very well. otherwise this might be a bad night for them. I own a huge zep audio collection and they were kicking ars in Cali in '77.

I'm a huge Zep fan but looking back....I now understand certain distaste for the band especially from other major groups (I never understood it at the time) but 20 minute violin bow and drum solos are a bit much.

Show Co was Led Zeppelin's lighting crew ,set up/tear down of stage. Rumors of Jimmy's guitars being tuned wrong purposely esp in 75, 77,79, 80. Rumors yes but some truth I think exists there. Led Zeppelin rarely made it to the venue on time so Page was not checking his guitar army that's for sure. Some truth imo is definitely there many wanted Led Zeppelin gone including a certain member. These are rumors of course but they have been around for many years. Jimmy has thought it as well.. as mentioned in a 88 interview discussing his outrider album. Page/Plant had a weird relationship to say the least

Idk where people get page was “on” in 77 but I give him some nods here and there. But more misses than hits. Maybe made up for the dynamics of acoustic set and set list generally.
    Also white
    Summer and bus noise solo
I guess but imop non sense and not
    Well executed
    Fluff if you will
He had more in the tank and substance in 75 but idk if he’d or anyone for that matter could touch page jn 73

WRONG!!! The theramin was in Whole Lotta Love, NOT Dazed and Confused. And the word is "downing", not drowning.
