This song is on an LP of Crowded House covers called 'He will have have his way.' There is also an earlier album called 'She will have her way.' So many great Aussie artists contributed and there are many stand out performances.
"One Night Stand" is put together by Triple J each year to bring multiple artists to a location each year. These locations are in the middle of no where. The idea is to bring live performances to remote country towns that would normally never have this level of opportunity to see live music. The best part is also that these performances have a free admission ;).
Yeah Bernard Fanning is from the band Powderfinger and he has some great solo stuff. His album Tea and Sympathy is amazing and his song Departures (Blue Toowong Skies) in a heart laid bare from loss, brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it, Song Bird and Sleeping Rough are amazing as is the entire T&S album

Boy & Bear are amazing. Seen them live. Dave Hosking's has such a beautiful voice too. Their music just feels good. They're my favourite band and I like every single one of their songs as well as their covers.

So yo mate... One Night Stand is basically an honorary tour where Australian artists perform covers of the artists/bands that are stand outs in the aus music industry. Obviously they did crowded house and probably many more, including your homeboy Paul Kelly
I think you're thinking of one of the other Triple J concerts, One Night Stand is the free regional concert Triple J puts on each year for all ages where they get 3 big acts to put on a concert in part of the country that wouldn't usually be on tour routes.
Bernard Fanning is lead vocalist for Powderfinger. Powderfinger are one my all time favorite bands. Personally I think it is a crying shame to have you react to a legend like Bernard Fanning doing a cover when he and Powderfinger have so many amazing songs of their own.

Those albums are such Gold! The algorithms recently showed me 'Covered' (Cold Chisel covers). We've got the talent.

Boy & Bear, the band playing here did a cover of 'Fall At Your Feet' in 2010. So I guess they decided to do their version of it with Bernard as well.
