are you doing the mods that were said to have been done to hendrixes fuzzes to make them less wooly with more gain and better clean up? ive read that they cut the input to the fuzz faces he used to mod them? just wondering,thanks...
I do a number of mods, but yes I definitely do the hendrix mod. Jimi didn't really like the fuzz itself, he liked using it to boost his Marshall amps, so a lot of my mods involve reducing how wooly they are and making them have a wider range of cleanup.
@@pfg_pedals i have to say, although i love fuzzes of all types,i have to agree with hendrix ,i imagine playing as loud as he did that a less wooly fuzz was better with those jtm 45/100s.what a sound though!
@@anselmountain6884 it replaces the 8.2K resistor. If you don’t know how to use a potentiometer as a variable resistor, just google it, but basically you use the center lead(wiper) and one of the outside(carbon strip) leads as the legs of a resistor, giving you an adjustable resistor. The third lead will not be used, or it can be connected to the wiper.
That was so awesome to watch. You are truly a Master craftsman.

@@pfg_pedals thanks
So it's a silicon fuzz that you build, no more a germanium as the jdf2
I build silicon and germanium versions but I used silicon here for simplicity.
Are you from Philly?
No, but I am about a half hour outside of the city.
