Many celebrity entertainers started to spin out of control during corona. I wondered why it was bothering so much, after all they are wealthy and can take off a year or two. I felt sorry for ordinary people, business owners who couldn't just "do home office" instead of opening their stores. I was worried about myself, too. In addition to the pandemic and the lockdown, my landlord had kicked me out, even though I was still paying rent. And celebrity entertainers acted like they had it hard. Hello...? And then they started to spread their own truths on social media, claiming that covid was just a common cold, that it kills only people who would have died anyway and aligned with people who go farther than that by saying that masks can kill you and that vaccines are made from dead babies. Hello, I thought, what makes these people think they know better than ordinary people? Being an actor or a musician does not make you a medical professional, never mind a virologist. This video is very misleading, ostensibly about Fox but mostly trying to set up a criticism of him by using arguments about Katie Hopkins. You use some vague descriptions about 'something bad' he may have said on Question Time linked with a clip of a nondescript music album as though that had any relevance, let alone indication of the right or wrong of his unspoken opinions. If you could show an un-illuminating reaction clip of the programme you could have shown what he actually said or at least given some direct quotes. Journalistic standards matter...if you want anyone of good conscience to consider you as a valid source of information.
On question time Fox's "crime" was to say that the press hounding of Meghan Markle wasn't racist ( was as the press hounding of Lady Di racist?). Not seen him express any hate whatsoever apart from defending the right of a white man to have an opinion - bad enough I suppose....
@@caahacky from what I've now learned from watching some of his actual output since seeing this video, he has a huge focus on language, not surprisingly as an actor. I don’t like Fox, I don’t think very much of anything I’ve ever heard from him. However I think that you’re correct in saying that it’s actually not “hate.” He’s not a “rabble rouser” or an advocate of racism from anything that I’ve ever heard him say. He’s well entitled to (what I consider) his English nationalist opinions. He speaks for quite a few people, who are entitled to be heard.
Have to disagree with you on this one. All he said on QT was he didn’t think Meghan was hounded out of the uk by racism, I can’t see how this is hateful or in anyway offensive. As to free speech I’m convinced it’s an growing issue. There’s too much binary thinking and people taking what they think is the appropriate position on any given issue according to whether they’re left/right. It’s not just the ‘right’ (do these désignations even have any meaning anymore?) who are concerned about the erosion of free speech and the very real risks to society by woke politics.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything that Otto has done that's objective. Sadly, I think he's a bit of a misguided cock. Really expected more of him. Shame.
There is a difference between hate speech and offensive speech. For example, mockery, blasphemy and denigration of religious ideas and practices may be offensive or hurtful in the minds of followers, but it isn't hate speech, or racist, and never should be classed as such.
So the two main 'poli-tainers' of recent years are (right-wing) Katie Hopkins and (centrist/centre-right) Lawrence Fox (cue scary sound effects)? And not the far more influential left-wing Lily Allen, Stomzy, Lady Gaga, Steve Coogan, Hugh Grant etc etc.? Is 'poli-tainment' only a negative force when it's done by people you disagree with? Also, how is Fox in any way comparable to Hopkins, and when has he uttered 'hate' as you put it? Hopkins has made a long stream of mean-spirited offensive remarks. All Fox stated on QT was that he didn't think Meghan Markle was disliked due to her race, and that he didn't think white people should be dismissed from discussions on racism purely by virtue of their skin colour. He later stated that he thought the lone Sikh solider in '1917' was tokenistic, and a better (and more historically accurate) approach would have been to include a full Sikh platoon. You see, when patronising mainstream journalists such as yourself seek to besmirch anyone holding differing views as being hate-filled right-wing bigots, and dismiss anyone with legitimate concerns about things such as aggressive identity politics or cancel culture, your actually pushing people away from your message and in fact bolster and give credence to those very view points.

Anyone can view Laurence Fox’s appearance on Question Time “Ill-advised remarks about race” does not equal racism, as you seem to suggest. And “ill-advised” or not, that’s someone exercising their freedom of speech, and his remarks are certainly not even about “race” per-se. You're crafting an interesting narrative that doesn't seem entirely fair or accurate (though your classification of his album is spot on). His main comments on Question Time were that a press that has a history of being awful to everyone weren't being awful because of race and that he thought Kier Starmer would make a good Labour leader; he was proven very obviously wrong about one of those. He's not actually said anything that extreme, despite you painting him as in the same vein as Katie Hopkins; he's just responded with a general dissatisfaction and malaise about woke culture.
That seems pretty accurate. All these haters hate themselves in one way or another even the ones who appear to love themselves. They are attempting to paint the world as dark as their souls.

I agree entirely with this statement. People don't have to agree with everything which Katie and Laurence say, however I would reckon that around 60 to 70% of the British population are for example sickened and dismayed at the level of immigration that has gone on since 1997. Sadly in Britain today, people do not have a platform to articulate their views, and even if they did, they would be shouted down and intiminated at every opportunity Therefore at least Kopkins and Fox are willing to put theirs heads above the parapet and say what they think. I mightn't agree with his rightwing stance, but I'm _far_ more worried Laurence Fox isn't a bright button and yet people listen to him and agree with statements with basic flaws in the logic... He's openly admitted in interviews he didn't understand the whodunnit in any of the Lewis plots that frankly an average 9yo could get the jist of. He's then made statements to the effect of the NHS not being so great if it struggles cope with a pandemic where 'only' ~2% of people infected die, ignoring both the sheer numbers of cases this pandemic has involved at times (which the NHS hasn't been evolved to have the spare capacity to suddenly deal with and has done pretty damn well considering that), and the likelihood that that % would be rather higher without the NHS having to care for maybe an additional 5-ish% of cases. I forget his exact wording now, but the impression it left me with was that he felt the NHS would be a greater success if _more_ people died! My conclusion from that is he has no understanding of basic cause-and-effect logic, let alone the broader complexities of the modern world. The fact some folks then think he's smart enough to follow and form a political party - on _any_ part of the political spectrum - is what concerns me. If you have contrasting views to mine, which you can back up with sound logic, coming at a problem from a different angle, then great, let's talk, I'll put the kettle on, but Laurence Fox is like the metaphorical pigeon you can't beat at chess because it ignorantly struts across the board.🙁

Also, sourcing a 'badge', of some sort off Amazon, to exclude himself from wearing a mask in public, shows us mere mortals what a plonker he really is.
Just can't stomach him..
David Cameron, Margaret Thatcher. Rupert Murdoch,Tony Abbott, Anne Widdecome,Mrs May: all Oxford alumni without a single thought between them. Doesn't say much for the university
@@ausbrum He didn't go TO Oxford - in fact he couldn't have because he was expelled from Harrow before completing his A-levels, with a very negative report. OP is referring to the thing he's best know for: being the supporting actor on a spin-off detective show.
So many trolls. "This channel doesn't have any content".
Fair points well said.
You’re right about Hopkins but I think you’re possibly wrong about Fox. Let’s see how he fares
I agree about Hopkins but not sure about Fox.
I live half way across the world... and used to watch Lewis. When Fox started spewing his views I knew immediately he is a thoroughly misguided, ignorant human being... and a RACIST!!!!
@@fndngnvrlnd I don’t agree .. he’s concerned , and rightly so , about being labeled a racist by that female panelist , simply because he’s a white male .. he objected by saying that this comment in itself was a firm of racism , which on the face of it was true .
What about the so-called duchess of Sussex or better still Oprah Winfrey all bigger all more toxically influential god help us 😬
The vitriol of fear.
The reason why I don’t agree with your take on all this. You don’t take into account the lies, misinformation, propoganda, politically motivated bias to put it kindly spewed out from the media.
What utter rubbish - Fox is brilliant, genuine and represents sanity.
And you're trying to get attention too aren't you? This should be titled "My Shit Opinion on Laurence Fox which doesn't Really Count"..............
He has touched your nerve and this is what Babel you can come up with. Shame. Answer his points do not attack the messenger
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Only one disagreement. That wasn't a fairly shit album, it was a very shit album.
I like him I think He's a free thinking decent man who expresses what a large section of the population think and beleive.
Unlike Otto!
Excruciatingly patronising. 'Schoolboy' pseudo-psychological analysis. Ignorant/dismissive of both what these non-politicians say and who agrees with them. English's characterisations are infantile.
Glad to see freedom of speech is still valued
It won't be if Otto gets his way!
What are you on about you can't switch on the TV without some no account celebrity dishing out left wing woke bollocks.
Well what a waste of 6.30 minutes
It is always interesting with The Apprentice to see who accepts that it will be two years of fame at most and just takes it compared with those desperate for a career, who become more extreme to beat off competition from the next intake.
Michelle Dewberry is a good example.

Excellent analysis.
It's the woke brigade who are permanently outraged, not the anti-woke
He should have stuck to making mints.
And those fruit sweets.
Opinions on opinions, that's very opinionated!
they are just saying what most sensible people are thinking but are too afraid to say it
James you think you are sensible. Lol your a fool!
@@youngsalmon5188 lol your the fool selling up your freedoms just for yer pc virtue signaling that you out with your transgender buddies tonight.
Some of what Katie Hopkins says I agree with but a LOT I don’t and she can be very very vitriolic at times .. Fox on the other hand has not said much that I disagree with and I don’t believe that he’s hateful in any way
What you mean like the tories and their anti demonstration and right to protest but isn't that what adolf did in 39
I'm looking forward to Ottos videos about left wing haters.
You’re in for a long wait
For example
The left just don't do hate as well.
