Congratulations!
Such an exciting day! Great job Jenny!
HOORAY for New England....and Connecticut...the best places to live ❤❤❤
Welcome back to New England! A huge benchmark!
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Congratulations Jenny!
So proud of you!!
I lived in New England most of my 74 years. Connecticut I’ve only driven through. I was born in Rhode Island, went to college in Massachusetts, hunted in Vermont, built my first house in Maine, and hiked extensively in the Whites including about 3/4 of the AT. I camped many years in BSP and have been atop Kahtadin 7 times. I’m really looking forward to following your journey through this beautiful part of our nation. Happy trails.
Congrats on putting NY behind! 🎉 Weird - the alternate long crossing seems to have gone missing…
Welcome to CT Jenny! Schgaticoke campsite was the first A.T. campsite I ever stayed at. Great memories!
Well that seemed like a little adventure at the end of your day.
Made for a entertaining video
Congratulations on walking to New England 🎉🎉🎉. And 2020, wow, just wow!
You made it to Connecticut!!!! Just moving steadily along. Interesting bushwacking to the campsite.
❤❤❤Congratulations sis on making it to CT! You are doing amazing ! I'm so proud of you! ❤❤❤ Congrats to your friend 20/20 on reaching Katahdin!
🦋❤️
Congrats on 20/20ing Mt KATAHDIN.
You will be there soon
So cool you made it back to NE! All the feels! 😊
Nic interesting day especially with the bushwhacking you did at the end. That port a potty appeared to have been dismantled or torn down. No protection from the elements.
So happy for you! I felt your emotion. 😊 That trail was a little sketchy at the end. 😬 Congratulations to 20/20! 👏
Hi Jenny, found your NET hiking series here as I live in CT and am considering doing that trail through a series of day hikes. Coincidentally, you've just entered the section of the AT that I'm familiar with so I'm particularly enjoying seeing you go through and look forward to coming episodes. I'm surprised they didn't have signage directing folks regarding the reroute. There was some back in 2021 when I went through. The state's conflict with the Schaghicokes goes back at least 20 years now. They wanted formal recognition as a tribe, which would have given them the right to build a casino in that area (as if we need more of those) but were denied. They actually closed their land off to AT hikers one summer, which became especially problematic because the bubble was just reaching CT then. The reroute actually dips back into NY briefly. That iffy brook crossing in NY looks like it's degraded some in the couple years since I went through there. They used to have logs completely across it where the rope is. I've read that the road walk detour is terrible so you made the right choice there. BTW, I have seldom seen anyone so happy to enter CT :). Enjoy!
@@redbirdct thank you for the info about the Schaghticokes! Now I understand why they do not want hikers to go through there. I did not see any signs so I didn’t realize it was off limits.
Congratulations on your journey
You have the best attitude exploring the trail and taking it in. You are too hard on yourself with your pace and mileage
You are listening to your body and getting the most out of this experience
Its funny I'm following 5 million steps Taco and Fainting Goat
Not knowing what the date is its difficult to know if you will meet on trail
You both posted the same section of trail getting to Connecticut posted on July 4th
@@carolreese8001 thank you. I haven’t met them!
Taco started on Feb 27 th it looks like he and his son, Fainting Goat are two weeks behind you. Taco took a week off for a family event and brought his son on the trail at Harper's Ferry. Recently they took a detour to New York for four days with a friend.
Hike your own hike everyone does it in a unique way
Enjoy
That AT diverts on your left (northbound) off the dirt road . If you continue down the dirt road you come to the Schaghticoke Indian reservation. some trail apps say there is a trail to the camp site. This is an old access road on the Indian reservation and should not be taken. The AT was rerouted off the reservation in 2021 and should not be bushwhacked. Alternative camp site at ten mile where the covered bridge is. Just saying, love the vids, been a fan since your NET hike
@@Who1yo thanks for the info - I didn’t know!
Your videos look great. Question!!! How are you uploading HDR videos to TH-cam? Are you using a special software? Thank you in advance for sharing
@@krisdawson7443 no special software. Just editing with an app and uploading on the TH-cam app.
@@HikingwithJenny which app do you use
@@krisdawson7443 I use a free one called VN, but I haven’t been completely happy with it lately because it’s been glitching out on me and the developers haven’t responded to my concerns about it. But there are lots of other free ones you can find in your App Store that many people use. I’m considering trying out CapCut because that one seems popular. But if anyone on here has any recommendations, please chime in!
@@HikingwithJenny thank you very much. We are going to try this but certainly if we find another/better option we’ll pass it on to you. Happy trails 😃
Found you to late! Cingrats
I bet your friend missed a lot of stuff going that fast
Just wondering what state are you in now.
CT
Which 'now' are you referring to?
HOORAY...WELCOME TO MY HOME STATE OF CONNECTICUT...SMALL STATE BUT REALLY BEAUTIFUL AND FRIENDLY...WELCOME TO NEW ENGLAND...THE BEST REGION ❤❤❤❤
