There's audio and 1080p. Apparently when youtube spent 1.5hrs running it's "checks", that didn't qualify as processing those elements. It'll be done (hopefully) shortly.
Haha, great content but weird day for uploads I guess guys? Just arrived back now and yippee, seems its all working. Look forward to watching/listening this time.
The thing with ADB's writing is that he makes it blissfully clear that space marines (heretic or otherwise) are developmentally stunted children in power armour, and I kinda love it.
John John John, please read The Infinite and the Devine by Robert Rath, I have read alot of black library and of all I have read that one felt the most like an actual book.
These ones are kind of fun and maybe it keeps It moving and keep jumping around and so if any one question maybe isn’t my cup of tea I didn’t just turn off the podcast halfway through
Gentlemen, thanks so much for your support in our campaign. Angela, and so many others, are so grateful for the generosity that you've shown with your time and content in helping us to spread our message. We really appreciate you.
Jon being unaware that Carnosaurs were an actual dinosaur on Earth followed by Scott saying that Fantasy happened before 40k (and therefore before the birth of Slaanesh) was my highlight of the day.
“Before 40K” just means before the 41st Millenium. The fall of the Eldar and the birth of Slaanesh could still happen before AoS without breaking 40K continuity. That said, plenty of other things in continuity would break, but 40K breaks its own continuity like every other week.
Weird tool that's really specific and a huge help is a guitar pick, I sometimes mix it up do a gunpla as a break from painting and I've been dabbling with making terrain dioramas using broken down mechs. You need to separate the push fit parts so you need something flexible to get in between the cracks, I fixit also has a jimmy tool I want to try out for that. Another tool from the gunpla world I've been placing into my mini tool box is a glass file, Basically it's a file meant for the nubs on gunpla, and it was honestly a bit exspensive. Works just fine on my minis though and it's a lot better than those sanding sticks. Really it's more ergonomic for me but it's fun to use as well.
I can't be the only one that wants to see Jon paint a pinup knowing that he's not a fan of them. He'd knock it out of the park and hate himself for it.
So I am in the hospital because of my MS. I had to get a spinal tap today .... I had to lay still ... I could not move for 3 hours.. my wife made sure to have this podcast playing so It made my 3 hours of not moving laying flat heaven .. this podcast was a such a blessing today... Thank you for this .. it was truly what made me not lose my mind not being allow to move and have to lay perfectly flat... Thanks for being bad asses!!!

The hospital I am have been amazing.. and The treatments they are giving me are working. My RN today came in to check on me after the Spinal Tap and found out he is a fellow nerd because of me listening to the podcast. We laughed and talked miniature painting.. you guys were such a god sent today for helping pass the time after the spinal tap.. thank you for that
1) metal gear alert is a must. 2) I don't care what you guys talk about, listening to you talk in general is what really motivates me to keep working and trying to improve. So no matter what, keep doing an awesome job.
I really like the multiple topic episodes. It lets you two talk about different things that excite yuns and allow the audience to learn about new things. So keep them up.
Sheesh rough day over there at TUP hq. First upload an old episode and now we get one without audio. Third times the charm guys 😆 🤣 edit: ayyyyyyyyy audios up!!!!
For me, a lot of the "is it done?" questions are answered by walking away at the end of a painting session and coming back the next day and reviewing it. You'll either spot lots of things to do, a couple of tweaks, or be pleasantly surprised that it looks finished and better than you remember leaving it.
I love flesh-eater courts. Totally got into the army because of the back story, but agree that the model range really needs some more models and some upgrades of older kits.
Hey guys! I was looking around for that Harder and Steenbeck airbrush you guys were mentioning at the start of the news portion of the episode, and unfortunately I just cant seem to find it. I don't know if I'm just blind or what, but I dont think I saw a link to it, and I cant find anything about it online whenever I look it up. If you guys could point it out to me if you catch this comment that'd be greatly appreciated!
Once again an amazing episode knocked out the park. I really enjoy the short-form subjects almost as much as I do the long-form episodes. If given a choice, I don't think I have a preference for oen format over the other, rather I would encourage you to do whatever form you feel like doing at the time. No matter what format the episode takes, I'll be keen to watch/listen.
Can confirm, 3m double sided tape and wood blocks are awesome paint handles. I chop up scrap blocks from work and sand them a bit to be more comfortable.
I like the shorter questions as much as the bigger deep dive questions. I feel like im painting more while having these shorter question on to fill my ears. Less concentration required on that, makes my 'paint-under-podcast' times more paint efficient
Hey guys, I've just recently gotten back into the hobby after a few years away from it. I'm rediscovering what's out here on TH-cam and am a new subscriber to Ninjon and an older subscriber to Miniac. So much quality material out here to bring me up to speed and refresh my memory as I pull out my Black Templar and Tyranids that still need a lot of work! Thanks for sharing. This was my first Trapped Under Plastic episode but I really dig the many smaller topics as it's more of a variety show rather than a single focus. Both have their benefits though.
I thought it was 'the' Ukraine until recently. Why do people get this wrong/did it used to be 'the Ukraine' at some point? It must have come from somewhere. And, didn't know there were two ways to even say 'Kyiv'. That is interesting -- not enough to cause emotional damage. It's not important enough. It's just a city name somewhere in Europe -- UK is not even part of Europe now (or, not meant to be), haha. Having said that, people have tried really hard to be offended over this and related points ever since Russia invaded Ukraine. The UK tried very hard to kill itself in order to pretend that it's saving Ukraine. Very pathetic and beta. Lots of middle-class people pretending that they care to make themselves feel better. That was also quite sad and unhelpful. Nobody cared about Ukraine until that happened, now everybody is pretending that they loved Ukraine and deeply cared. That is a lie. Ukraine has been invaded by Russian since about 1900 -- nobody cared for 100 years, it seems. Most people don't even know anything about Ukraine. I hate pseudo-morality/virtue-signalling like that. It's not clever, nor does it make you a good person -- and you will instantly change your world view in the next news cycle. I'm willing to bet the very same people supported the Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan, setting up their own country whilst also crying about feminism, somehow. That's called cognitive dissonance, haha. (Of course, I assume you were just making a joke here, haha.)
I think with the amount of lore and back stories in all of Warhammer that its impossible to say that there is one faction that is more interesting than another
I too, love 3M tape, honestly, I probably got the idea from you guys to use it, so thanks! Also, avoid the clear two sided tape, it’s squishy and way too sticky! Always a pleasure listening to and watching you both!
Honestly feel like Gaunts Ghosts might be the series for Jon, cant make bolter porn when all you got is a flahslight, he might even make a loyalist force after (or more likely tbh, a blood pact one)
The wooden dowel method is a good, simple, and perfectly functional handle method! Something that also works really well if you want something with a somewhat ergonomic shape are spice bottles! If, like me, you do a lot of cooking, you'll probably have plenty on hand, so don't throw them out when empty. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and you can fill them with sand or corn starch to give them a little weight, if you prefer. The big ones are good for storing things like basing materials, popsicle sticks, plastic rods, etc.. You'll need to glue the top lids though, otherwise they'll pop open every time you remove a model.
Object obsession could be a big factor in this in this situation, having something that you have so much passion in and it not working out can have a big impact on that particular project. Writers block (painters block)
Great episode, as allways... Just wanna add; I was around in the 80's and we played Metallica songs, and I knew a bunch of guys doing that and even more advanced stuff (Yngwie...), no Internet, no Tabs, no TH-cam tutorials. Just put on that vinyl and listen, back the arm and listen... trial til you get it. :)
Thanks for the ideas for how to tell when you are "done" with a piece. I've struggled with that as an artist my whole life (I'm 52 now). I'm starting to find a balance between wanting a mini to be perfect, and just getting it done so I can play a game with it.
My mostly interesting faction in 40k is the Inquisition. Love how they have so much diversity in methods and ideology. Eldar too, the way their society works and their technology and how their psychic powers fit and heightened emotions into their culture is fascinating and was one of the funnest things to learn in The Eldar trilogy by Gav Thorpe.
I just spent the last couple months catching up on every episode of this podcast from episode 1 to present and I have to say that I prefer a variety of episode topic formats. So I think you guys should just keep doing what you're doing and change up how you do the topic each week
Using double sided tape is a waste of money just use magnets and then you don't have to replace anything. I magnetized all my bases and made magnetic handles made a two tier shelf out of sheet metal that fits perfectly into a storage box for storing my minis and the magnets add weight to the minis making them less likely to knock over.
Basically every quote from Will Ferrell “I have a very special news announcement” “I can feel it deep down in my plums” “I’m in a glass case of emotion” “When you fall asleep, I’m gonna punch you square in the face.”
You should totally have the "Moist" tongue thing from Scott and Jon saying something in Darril accent. :D :D 3M double sided foam tape totally change my way of prepping minis. Best tip from non-hobby hobby tools myriad of videos.
Trapped Under Plastic is like a Hot Fudge Sundae. Your normal show format of ramble- what we painted - topic of some sort- Newsie News is like the normal Sundae. Extra "mini" questions are like sprinkles. sprinkles can add color and style to a Sundae. Eating a bowl full of sprinkles with no ice cream just gets you kicked out of the Chinese buffet, even if they said all you can eat.
of course I see this video while waiting for the shipment of a new harder and steenbeck airbrush. I totally would have ordered that Angela Dark version instead
Many musicians learn to play songs by ear without tabs or sheet music. Some can do so after 1-2 listens, but it wouldn't be a crazy stretch that, with Master of Puppets being Eddie's favorite song (it's specifically "favorite songs" that are effective vs. Vecna) he hasn't spent part of the past two weeks listening to the song over and over again while practicing it. This is kinda like someone looking at your miniature and saying: "What, did you paint this with a single eyelash over the past 3 years?" because that's how long they think it'd take them. I haven't seen this scene yet, I'm not very far in.
I had always assumed that Age of Sigmar was the history of 40K, or, since this appears to be how it works sometimes, what people in the distant future think the past looked like. Jon being unaware that Carnosaurs were an actual dinosaur on Earth followed by Scott saying that Fantasy happened before 40k (and therefore before the birth of Slaanesh) was my highlight of the day.
Um, actually, Carnasaurus is a classification, not a specific Dino. Unless you are referring to the badass movies by that name.

This is my first episode. I liked this. Will watch others to compare, but really liked the pace either way.
I really like the episodes with several shorter topics! Also I want Jon to do a Lore Review segment every episode now.
The sound board definitely needs, Vincey V quotes, a snippet from the tendies song and Duncan saying two thin coats
