20:17 this applies to artists on social media SO much 😭 the popularity is primarily based on beauty standards. The most common art i see online is portraits of generic skinny girls aged 16-21 with no message, uniqueness, or sign of humanity. There is no expression of feelings in this art, just meaningless repetition of what everyone else is doing
This comment doesn't come with a desire of defending some people, or mediocrity or lack of passion. But that kind of comment also is pointless (it does not propose some kind of answer or solution, not systematic, nor individual (just like the said portraits)), and it's fine, but repeatedly, it becomes a meaningless mass. I study art. I see that happen often. We don't teach young artist to dig in dark, scary, weird parts of themselves, but alienate them in artistic currents, styles, philosopies. The style of art you bring out may be perceived as lazy or meaningless, but comes from the artist's neccesity of living (honestly, bc it's still work) of what they like in a world that, anyways, is going to make them precarious.
@@cesaralejandropintoleal8129 I see it from more of a feminist anti-capitalist perspective I guess. This art type is like an advertisement for body image issues. None of these subjects even have their naturally occuring body hair or a wrinkle, its so damaging 😭 its so sad that everyone profits to the detriment of women and girls. But we see it in nearly every art medium in most of history, especially with the high rate of models and actresses having eat*ing d1sorders. Ironically, I primarily create portraits but I work with all sorts of bodies, age demographics, hair types, etc. with as little idealization as I can. I try to tell the story of my subject through the piece. It would be cool if there were more people who created art without the intention of s x appeal. The consumers (and hobbyists) are equally, if not more responsible for these trends as the people who create art for employment imo
i @@cesaralejandropintoleal8129 i guess that diving into the darkside is an artist's task and noone can really help him/her do that. art school can however provide you with context and introduce you into the art history (at what it continuously fails, but it's another topic)
“The Red Shoes” 1948 is one of my favorite movies of all time, I have a soft spot for ballet and fairytale/folklore content, Visual, style, and costume analysis are typically entertaining and informative.
24:17 I like mentioning how in the war movies, there’s always a morose female love interest next to her phone or running dramatically down the stairs and that’s the character.
Miss ma'am wtf is that thumbnail and intro and outfit and everything 🔥 Just when I thought I was gonna be productive. Now I have to devour this masterpiece of a video ❤
The totally spies tone you use at the end of your videos is my actual ringtone, so everytime I finish one of your videos I keep thinking someone is calling me 😭
Thanks to you I've read the book, and I was reading it during a heart surgery because I am a med student and i was like bored, soo random radio was playing in the background, all these great songs from depesche mode and pop songs were all mixed in these wierd way, that art was soo reproducable that it lost its meaning, especially with the sounds of EKG, any aura was lost. As i was reading the part of nuances between a filmmaker and a painter, is comparable to surgeon and a magician, the camera with zoom was turned on to make heart more visible but the image was blured due to technical issues. Hospital is like a non place, it lacks any art, it is pure funcion, surgeons were a bit vulgar, swearing sometimes, and a lot of people in medical fields feel really down to earth, when they talk about arts it is mostly a enjoyment based type of art, with stream of images passing soo fast that you cannot even make a statement about anything. And when i said that i want to study psychiatry and I am pursuing psychology as second degree, I heard that people who want to pursue these careers are somewhat broken, and i kinda feel these way, I see these people detatched from anything outside of their speciality, exhisting in a nonplace, to save a person that you don't even know name of. Idk how can you like save a life and feel soo detached from anything, everything was done in a mechanical type of way following procedures, and your own labour as a surgeon is like totally replacable, a marketer from like tools or something told me that some people cannot find a job as a surgeon because medical comunity doesn't like them personally (its a nieche field). I honestly belive that live is a work of art, but schools, universities and jobs makes the art of life so mechanical (8 years of primary school, 4 years secondary, 6 years medical, 6 yerars specialisation) that it lacks any purpose anymore. I feel as we are going backwards : c
no thoughts, head empty (as a person who gets a philology degree in opposition to visual arts minds are blown ok), i love you lisa also i'd kinda like to know something about your childhood in russia bcause i'm still hereeee (let me out pls)
Lisa love you and I have a silly little advice next time frame yourself in a way there will be some free space above your head is going to look better I think it is a photographers tip. Otherwise this video is GORGEOUS 🥰
that thumbnail is a whole work of art itself 😭
Omg thank you🙂↕️🙂↕️
So hot.❤
if i saw an album with that on its cover, i would've bought it no hesitation

@cesaralejandropintoleal8129 a level headed and empathetic take! i always appreciate an opinion that isnt needlessly cruel in the name of honesty.
