I love Charles Grodin!! He was so funny in everything he did! He is soooo missed.
Thank you for posting all of these, Don!
Don, all of your videos are amazing, but these Grodin collections in particular are clearly labors of love. You are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks!
Just got a couple of his audio books.
Go to sleep 💤 with them on repeat.
Go to sleep laughing...
Wake up laughing...
Yeah, you rule Don. I love the shows from 93 up to the heart attack particularly. Thanks for all the long videos, they're really great. Oh, and THANK YOU DAVE (and Hal) (and Paul and Will, Anton and uhhh you know uhhh SID)
I remember seeing Grodin on Letterman as a kid and didn't know they were kidding. These are great! Thank you!
I never even knew this guy's name I just saw him in midnight run when I was a kid. And now I'm addicted to watching TH-cam videos of him on Carson and Letterman.
Same thing for me but with Beethoven
I just love how they each admit that their animosity is a joke...but not at the same time. One of them always keeps the ball rolling by throwing in a little irony. I totally forgot how much I loved these when they first aired. I was definitely watching if I knew Grodin was going to be on. So nice to see them all in order. I'm taking my time because it's such a pleasure. Thanks again Don!
Man charles grodin was one of my favorite tv dad figures growing up in the 90s. Beethoven, my summer story, and even Clifford even though he wasnt the dad
One of the best guests. Thanks for putting all of these together!
Thank you for posting these
Watching these just makes me realize how much I already miss Charles Grodin.
These are great! I appreciate your work.
Thanks!
Grodin on Letterman is the best!
Thank you so much for posting these videos. I love ❤️ this guy! So hilarious and handsome. He will be sorely missed.
CLIFFORD. one of my favorite movies of all time. If you like Cabin Boy or Almost Heroes you might enjoy Clifford
Holy Lord! More?! Thank you.
I always liked how Dave had Chuck on the day after Madonna to make himself feel better and reset things
Keen observation
Been waiting for this. Thanks for the work you do, Mr. Giller.
This is so great, Don! I never realized this was all an act! :)
May the memory of Charles Grodinsky be a blessing. Thank you and please post more of him.
I think I just did. There are seven parts total.
Watching these appearances on Letterman makes me realize that Grodin was just playing an 'accountant-version' of himself in Midnight Run.
52:28 I've heard that Dave liked to keep the temperature cool in the theater, but I never knew they kept it that cold in there!
Yeah he didn’t want to sweat on TV.
💚 I miss these old shows, they didn't spend their time making boring political jokes!
Charles Grodin was a really good guest.
Grodin was Dave's perfect guest
Charles Grodin was awesome. I had no idea.
The switch after about 1:15:37 that makes Dave laugh out loud is comedy gold.. 😅
Charles Grodin was an awesome actor. I love the grumpy character he portrayed on talk shows. David Letterman was the best at playing off on Grodins grumpy, grouchy act, which was done to achieve a comic affect. If you notice, Grodin would occasionally smile, just to let you know that it's all an act. Not te be taken too seriously. Charles Grodin will be greatly missed.
He does do that doesn’t he , miss him too , he deserves to be more well remembered as a classic comic personality, one of a kind , RIP
I heard he said he was the greatest comedy actor around, and should be more famous, but perhaps he was joking or never said it. He left 9 million according to Alexa.
Such a cool show!
I’m trying to find the episode where Dave says “I’m trying very hard to be nice” and Charles says “It is hard for you isn’t it?”
It’s in the collection. Somewhere.
Loved his movies.
Sleep...tiny slices of death...oh, how I loathe them! -Edgar Alan Poe
Its strikung how grodin makea even letterman funnier himself.
57:10 The bit where he does the thing with his hands on the chair is hilarious!
“Pipesmokers” LOL
He’s so great in “Dave”
The Best
It is so funny to me how badly Grodin alienates the audience in the July 95 appearance. They are so clearly against him and he just commits.
That CNBC ad with Tom Snyder was so weird.
15:32 i just can't remember the song
Lenny Kravitz - “Are You Gonna Go My Way” (1993). Original recording here - th-cam.com/video/8LhCd1W2V0Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gDwt_g1f_jKirhVS
My father was a pipe smoker. Nice scent.
Does anyone know, is that Charles in the pipesmoker video or is that just a random Letterman bit?
The pipesmoker video is where?
@@dongiller The bit beginning at 0:08 (clip starts at 0:21) before Charles comes out and then later Dave pranks Charles by showing the video instead of his clip at about 10:06. I don't know if that's Charles in it, or if it's just a random joke (could be insinuated as a homosexual joke if you look at it one way).
@@davisnafshun4758 Thanks for specifying where. Neither pipesmoker looks remotely like Charles. That video was part of a segment called “Dave’s Video Collection.”
❤😂❤
Charles Grodin is who Bill Murray wishes he was, and I love Bill Murray.
Smiling bit was reminiscent of his mate Steve Martin. Saw Steve’s ex in Bath. Asked where a certain hotel was and she said look for the lackeys. (Security)
Unconventional which is good
