Carrie, it sounds silly but thank you for being open about living in an unfinished house, my house has been under construction for about 5 years and living in it over lockdown was pretty difficult when it was hard to let builders work on it, it’s gotten better but it’s difficult mentally I guess, not sure if that made any sense but oh well😖x

Poor Dec 2019 us. So hard to believe so much awfulness was right around the corner & we just had no idea. As for getting hopes up, I now need open heart surgery for a congenital problem in 2021 so already there goes my hope for a better year :( BUT if worldwide, and def nationwide in America we could have a better, calmer, kinder year...still have hope for that!

Me 2019- moved to Auckland, NZ for a 2 year working visa. Panicked at the end of March and came back home to Nottingham.... grandad died, dog died. Now finally managing to head back to NZ in January. Worst year ever! Really hoping next year will be better for everyone ❤
Storytime: last Christmas when I opened my present, which was tickets to six the musical, I announced to the whole room that 2020 is the year of theatre (I had already received two other tickets for different musicals for 2020) oh boy was I wrong!!

I think we all had high hopes for 2020, nobody had any idea what a train wreck this year was going to be.
I laughed as soon as you said “how can it get worse” cause I’ve given up on guessing what next year will be like. I hope it gets better, but I know things could get worse(cause we’ve seen that) so I will NOT be jinxing that 😂
On March 4th, 2020, I tweeted the words, “Things are finally really starting to come together for me.” What a mistake. Things have not stopped falling apart since, more than I ever thought they could fall apart. If I don’t laugh I’ll cry. I’ve been laughing through tears a lot lately.
These time are sent to test us, the strongest of steel has to be forged in the hottest of fires, and I think we have all been hardened by this year and when this year is past we will be stronger because of it, as you said it would be hard for things to be worse. I had a birthday trip to London planned for my birthday in August - so grateful to get the money back for that - had tickets to see Alanis Morisette in concert and "Tina Turner" - the musical and we all know how that went...

I'm so sorry this year has been a mess! I absolutely feel your pain. I work in care so while I have not struggled financially, I have been drained emotionally by the constant PPE, questions from residents about when this will all end and having to force myself out of the house when it felt like everyone else was hiding away. All while homeschooling my two different children. Throw in a cancelled holiday to America. It's been tough! So 2021 has to be better right? 🤞🤞🤞🤞 xxx

Ah Carrie. Things can only get better. For some reason whenever I watch your videos I always remember that video you made at the beginning of the year announcing the Cinderella role when you were laughing and saying you still had a feeling something was going to go wrong with it.

I have been screaming at the videos of the lead of 007 filming right now in the uk, and him getting upset and cursing at the production team and crew over social distancing, and my answer is if the west end and Broadway are closed till next may, so can the film company, sorry but its true. and i am saying that cause I am part of the theater community and i don't want to see any one hurt or get sick, but its only a movie. Carrie your awesome stay safe and can't wait for your next video.
I'm really glad that, however bad it may have felt, that 2020 wasnt actually the worst year in the history of the world! Things have been rubbish, but in less than a year we have come up with a vaccine and that gives me so much hope for next year. Carrie, do not lose that hope you have for next year and that things will be better. That optimism will surely get you through

Along with how much everything has changed, Ive also been thinking what has stayed the same: i still want to help people, I still want to make art, I'm still grateful for my family (even though my parents are now also my roommates since ive moved back home). SO much has changed, and pretty much all of it for the worse. But i find a lot of comfort in the little things that feel dependable.
All we can do is live in the present and take it one day at a time 🥰

All my experience with building work is that you have to be on the builders 24/7 to see what’s going on and that cheap options are shit options. We still have several windows that don’t open for paint reasons. It can be such a disaster

I know what you mean about the savings... I was planning on saving up for a new car... then irish lockdown happened, no work through our busiest season, didnt get half as much saved as I want and my car died just as we came out of the first lockdown and I had to take out a way bigger finance loan than I wanted AND pretty much drain my savings 🙈 the joys of 2020!

That would be a feat! In 2020, I've had 2 car accidents (I did not cause either one), I had covid for 2 months, I lost my job, and both of my parents were very ill. (On the bright side, I survived 2 car accidents and covid, both of my parents recovered, and I got a new job that I love far more than my old one.) 2021 would have to be a real train wreck to top that. :P
Best thing that happened in 2020? Trump lost and will no longer be President come January 20, 2021, so that year is looking brighter already! :D =) X)

Tbh my 2021 starts when things are back to normal. I can't cope without a routine so I'm using now and new year to prep for whatever I want to achieve in spring/summer/Autumn cos tbh 2020 ain't it :/

I know your doors are fixed but should something else literally go awry, draft excluders are AMAZING. HQ has windows that basically don't close and I have 1 pair of tights that I chopped in half and stuffed like a sausage with sock goblin widows (odd socks) and they are fantastic for keeping the cold out. 👌🐧
