One of the masters at working both the contestants and the audience.

I wonder if that rotating platform can go all the way around and fast, the contestants can hold on to the Whammy panel and Peter can hold on to the podium ....then , Weeeee, round and round they go..LOL !!!

At 0:09, the line is changed for Surfing Whammy and said, "Surf's up, hang ten, I got your money, it's a wipeout!"

Correct. The line heard in the intro is actually the alternate (second) line for that Whammy.

I guess they didn't learn from the first time when Troy did it, Kirk broke his buzzer at the end of the game. Good timing. LOL

+Richard74205 Haha, went back to catch that. I think they redesigned the buzzers after this to have the yellow block underneath to prevent the contestants from hitting them at an angle and pushing them over.

At that point, considering that Irene took the lead (And lost it on her 2nd whammy with 2 spins left), I can kind of see why she would pass her final spin to Kirk. At that point, he knew that it was time to put up or shut up. And chose to shut the game up. Kirk was thinking "No way am I going to go away empty."
Sure enough, delivered in the end.

At 19:38, anyone knows where I can find that episode of Let's Make A Deal by chance?

Given that Frank/Nancy/A.J. was said to be so awful that they re-did it and discarded the first taping, and that "magically" resulted in a big win for Nancy and everyone having so much at the end...and how this was said to not have enough spins for Round 2 that they re-did that round, and that "magically" results in a perfect 20 spins earned (second time that's been achieved so far)...
Well, this is me being suspicious of the whole thing. It all seems way too convenient that a re-do would take them clear to the opposite extreme - especially given the example mentioned, the 1-1-1 spin breakdown only a month after this, and yet they just let that one stand as is?

Peter had standard, and easy questions, and would get a message to go to the easier stack if there wasn't enough generated.
For the retaped 2nd Round, production likely told Peter to go straight to the easy question stack, so the contestants could get as many spins as possible.

A rather unique disclaimer there at the end. Did that situation ever happen again after this?

+Bryce Lozier Hmm, that was interesting. I don't recall ever seeing that on any other episodes myself regarding the number of spins earned in question round 2. That explains all of Peter's comments during the round. :)
I did finally come to the realization that the opening with past contestants playing the board was the producers way of "padding out" the show. If the show was short, they added content up front before the Roddy intros.

+Bryce Lozier I'm surprised they didn't do this with a later episode... #117 Bob/Kathy/Margaret each had 1 spin in R2 --- Peter had to do an awful lot of rambling to try and fill in some time... Probably should've done the same thing then too

So this is the reason for the extended commercial break outros. Plus during the 3rd break, the whole set was showed during the extended outro

@@whammy3323 I remember this episode. Peter talked for 3 whole minutes before the players started the board. But on this episode, they didn't do the extended closing with the theme music. Peter did a great job talking the whole time

IMO unless if there was a complete wipeout with no spins after four questions, they could have just played Round 2 as it was, and allow for an audience round to fill time at the end. They easily could just stop tape for a few minutes to load the slides in for the audience round ($50-$500 IMO on the Big Board with some "some members of our studio audience will receive" prizes mixed in along with a few + One Spin spaces and the Whammies as usual), where three players picked from the audience (Rod could have even said "Come on down!" before he did it on TPIR), each receive two spins each, and the winner taking home what he/she receives. But I figure to have more opportunities for Big Bucks was the right decision for the viewer.
