Janet Jackson ... One of my favorite artists from the United States of America. She is a singer, composer, dancer and actress. Jackson's younger sister, Michael Jackson was his brother, for example, only managed to achieve artistic maturity after the age of eighteen, and when he married to escape the tyranny of his father. On the third album, Control (1986), finally recognized his work, managed to arrive with the six singles to the top 20 of Billboard Hot 100. Five arrived at the top 5, including its first number one, When I Think Of You. album also had good sales results. It topped the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks, and sold five million units in the United States alone. Worldwide, there were over ten million copies sold ... So, What Have You Done For Me Lately? # 4 on Billboard Hot 100, Nasty # 3, When I Think Of You # 1 (2 weeks), Control # 5, Let's Wait Awhile # 2 and The Pleasure Principle # 14. She has always been beyond your time! On the next album, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), made it to the top of the Billboard 200 for four consecutive weeks. And it got more than six million units sold in the United States alone. Including that the seven Singles have all reached the top five of the Billboard Hot 100, and four in the first place! Miss You Much # 1 (4 weeks), Rhythm Nation # 2, Escapade # 1 (3 weeks), Alright # 4, Come back to me # 2, Black Cat # 1 ) # 1 (1 week). And Love Will Never Do (Without You) #1 (1 week). In total, there were more than fourteen million units sold worldwide! Third album from Control, Janet Jackson, after the huge success that was Rhythm Nation, returned in 1993 more sensual than ever! Janet. Or simply janet. Also, with lowercase letters and dot at the end of the name. Well, another great success for the sister of the late Michael Jackson. At all levels! Album and six singles in the top ten places on the charts in the United States again. I started with the album that debuted at number one and was later certified with seven platinum sales of seven million copies. In the world, it was her biggest commercial success, reached just over twenty million copies sold! As for the singles ... THAT'S THE WAY LOVE GOES # 1 (7 or 8 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Then came If, # 4, Again # 1 (4 weeks), Because Of Love # 10, Any Time, Any Place # 2 and You Want This # 8. What about her most personal album with more intimate lyrics? And the sound of Pop and R & B to the mix with more accelerated rhythms and romantic ballads with interludes in the middle, since it habituated us to conceptual albums since the excellent Rhythm Nation? The Velvet Rope (1997). Debut first in the Billboard 200 and sold more than three million only in the United States, in the world, more than ten million ... The singles? Only two have reached the top five! Together Again was in first place for four weeks and I Get Lonely did not pass 3rd. It was a great success, no doubt! It would have been much sexier four years later with the album All For You in 2001. Sexier and controversial, too. The album did very well in the first place, in the week of debut with six hundred thousand copies in the first week, and three million units only in the United States. Altogether, in the world, they were little more than seven million copies sold. As for the singles ... The title track is for seven consecutive weeks in the first place on the Billboard Hot 100, and Someone To Call My Lover only in third position. SON OF A GUN With an interpellation of the famous single "You're So Vain" Carly Simon still managed to reach the top 30 with Missy Elliott's participation ... And it was her last big commercial success! Okay, Janet Jackson still edits a few albums after All For You, but nothing is like it used to be! Artists are getting mature and the industry is more interested in new and bolder artists ... Also fit others like Janet Jackson, of course! But youth first! I do not agree! There is enough room for everyone! But this is me thinking so. Me and other people. Already the rest ... Do not think so!
My heart goes out to you & your family for Tito Jackson who technically started the Jackson Dynasty. Thanks to that we have our QueenofPop. May God bless you and your entire family. If you watch the video carefully, Janet wasn't dancing much but moving her shoulders up and down, which made it look like she was really a skillful dancer.
That line is a HUGE contradiction 😂 if she were thankful for the little things, she wouldn’t be complaining about him giving “little things..” which I think is her subtle way of telling us that he has a small penis 🤣
Today is the 35th anniversary of this breakthrough single's release
When I watch this video, I 'm 15 again. Thank you for uploading it. Greetings from Chile!
Jam and Lewis there sound was off the chain!!🎼🎹🥁🎤🎧🤟🏻✌️👍🍸
Even tho this was really Prince lol
@@40EastTrill Prince influenced or did Prince secretly produce this?
@@40EastTrill -- Prince had gotten Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis fired from The Time. They they went on their own, writing and producing music for Janet Jackson, Alexander O'Neal (himself also previously in The Time), and Cherrelle.
JJ is giving attitude in this video!!! Respect
0:21 The "DADADADADA" synth drum "get into the action" start to every 80's song is so classic... :D
I love Janet's expressions in this videoclip, an angel face but very angry, so funny!! And that smile at the end!! What a cutie
Jackson style is so charismatic !!!
She looks so much like her brother
Tito
+SuperRegal79 watch your profanity 😶
+SuperRegal79 NOT TRUE about resembling each other cos I have a sister that looks nothing like me & we are from the same mother & father !!! So sometimes u do get a sibling that doesn't look like anyone, maybe just a resemblance that's it !!
Which brother?
Theresa T. Michael Jackson..😊
Anything from Control is good. I just love these little 80's videos. My jam.
Just a few instruments. And a lot of genius.
1:45 is my favorite part of the song, "I never ask for more than I deserve". Wish it was longer than 15 seconds .
Yep, she put the emphasis on 'ask'.
True that. I actually used to rewind and play this part on a loop on my new Sony Walkman. The 80s damn.
Her best song!!!
Sounds like a Prince song actually. Very smooth and cool
the myth is that Prince actually wrote this.
What you talking about Willis?!
@@UPBEATFOREVER what about it?
@@UPBEATFOREVER Prince wrote and gave it to Jimmy and Terry The Time era.
During his 1990 tour Prince performed this song and would shout out sarcastically, "Who wrote that?". So he probably did write it.
Baddest track of all time.
One of my all-time favorite music videos.
Interestingly enough, out of all of the years (decades) I've been watching this music video, I'm just now noticing (what I'm assuming is) some sorta script-looking object on the right-side of the screen, near where Paula is dancing.
(3:08-3:09 mark)
What on Earth is that?!
Thank you for the music janet keep on making hits
I have been watching Sister Act 2 for years and never known that they use part of Janet song in there performance in the movie.

Those were the days
The best of Janet Jackson music will live for every.
Omg in 8th grade, I begged my parents to let me get a perm so I could look like Janet. I had the pants, the shiny shirt with a belt, the big earrings with a key in it… all because of this video
This song turns 30 today! #Queen
I love Janet Jacksons facial expressions in this video lol😍
TIMELESS CLASSIC OF THE NEW JACK SWING ERA!!!. 31 years later and still remains as one of my favorite collectibles, no doubt about it!!!.
Very special memory for me it helped me see the light 💡 at the end of tunnel thank you 🙏 Janet Jackson awesome 👏 😎 💯 👍 ✅
Janet's serious expressions are always great. Love the angry wide eyes in this
It seems this was the song that made Janet a star.
Dean Ryan Martin It was the song that got her noticed but I feel it was Nasty that made her a star.
Janet Jackson is the best danceing. Machine
+Dean Ryan Martin SHE IS THE GREATEST DANCER. REMEMBER BEFORE THIS TRACK ANOTHER CHANCE.......YOUNG LOVE.......SAY YOU DO....SAY YOU DO IS FANTASTIC
+Dean Ryan Martin I always think of The Pleasure Principle as being her first "iconic" video.
I remember this song when I was a kid.
Janets the Boss
The 80's are my teenhood. Oh those were the days!🤩

Ultimate Masterpiece.
I’m sooooo happy I grew up in her era!!
My heart goes out to you & your family for Tito Jackson who technically started the Jackson Dynasty. Thanks to that we have our QueenofPop. May God bless you and your entire family. Most of us know that u are a very educated and smart woman and we will ALWAYS support you no matter how hard others TRY to shut you down. Like Michael said, "lies run sprints, but truth runs marathons".
