Impressive. Nothing is going to waste even if parts go in different directions. Good to see too that J.C is paying forward C.E's gift to Back farms. Friends and neighbors helping one another. Sometimes it feels like that era ended. Looking forward to the next episode.
seems like the right way to do it to me. let the rest of the parts go to someone who can use them. that era is still alive in my way of thinking. dragging a frame into the shop is next.
It's nice to see parts going where they can be used. I'm sure I'm not the only one that can't wait to see the next step in your rat rod project. I had my son out side about noon putting new headlights and park lights in his truck and I thought I was going to freeze to death, my fingers hurt so bad I couldn't stand it trying to warm them up. I thought it wouldn't be too bad in the nice sunshine, boy was I wrong.
i am anxious to get started but this ridiculously cold weather is holding me up. the next step is bringing whichever frame i am going to use. thats bad when your fingers start to hurt. my hands split open in this weather. as cold as it has been, frost bite is a serious concern.
Very true, how cold has it been up there? It's been down to minus 2 here and I don't think it got much warmer than 20 until today Wednesday the 3rd. We've not had any snow except for a dusting on the grass down here on Christmas day but the roads has been snow white with salt till after the first of the year.
Brr that's cold. I've sure come to admire Cecil and Heather I understand folks up there get used to I've even seen visitors stop by without coats on these last few videos so those guys must all be tough as nails. I'd like to have a little bit of that toughness in my older days. LOL
I love these old international's my stepfather owned an international 40' box truck when I was a kid. We referred to it as the Big Truck. I see them in salvage yards here in Texas all the time. I'd love to see someone build one build a 12v Cummins flatbed. I think that would be an amazing build. Thanks Guy's
You guys must really love this ... In that weather I'd be at home setting in front of the fire, eating some of Honey's red beans and cornbread. This should be titled J.C.Smith circus tricks using a Gradall.
Looks like the journey has begun, cool to see the GradAll as the star of the show again too. Great intro music JC, stay warm there folks. Happy New Year !!
the gradall steels the show again! i am trying to work with this new editing software. not sure if i will keep trying it or try another one. happy new year my friend!
If Logan can get that old engine started and running right it'll be one tough machine. I drove an old '65 Loadstar many years ago. Sweetest running gas V-8 ever! Never failed to start even on the coldest mornings. I loved that old truck although it was new at the time. I'm still very partial to that body style.
@@richardcline1337 🇺🇸 I’ve always liked that body style as well. They were sleek, nicely curved & just simply looked good. 🥰 I didn’t always like the cab lights that many had, but that’s just me being picky. 🧐 I hope it worked out for him. Have a great day! 🥰🤩✌️
Cold weather playing havoc on air systems in trucks is still something they've yet to crack. Engineering can put man on the moon but can it make air systems what work in the cold, can it heckers-like. Maybe one day...
Maybe an inline-air-dryer or a alcohol-fogger in the air system will dry the air from moisture or impregnate with some antifreeze...both systems are already on the market... ;-)
Wait I see a pattern developing, when JC came and got the truck someone else had to go set in the Freightliner because we were talking and looking at projects! Lol
that machine makes it look easy not me. logan was thinking his tractor may not be strong enough to lift one end but he could have removed the front tires and take off about 300 lbs maybe. he got it of ok.
You wouldn't believe the amount of times I have sen some guy driving a chassis down the road with a seat and temporary floor and some semblance of the dash with rigged up lights....looks funny as hell but I dont know if I would want to risk doing it.
IH in this time 1965 had the best truck you could buy. Some are still working today. You don't see Ford, Chevy. or Dodge on the road hauling over weight loads What is wrong with you.
I didn't like seeing the driveshaft trying to get a 'stab' in the ground but could've lived with it if the chains were 'tied up' on the fork frame...that being said, l just don't think l could've placed it on the trailer 1st try without somebody guiding it on...not to mention, l freeze up in cold weather & have an extremely low tolerance level for traffic behind a machine l'm operating - you're better than me
i forgot to tie that drive shaft up. slow and easy got it on there safely. i know what you mean by tie up. that is for sure a good way to do it. i was lucky and got it on the trailer within and inch from side to side in the first try. i doubt i am better than you mr. letaw!

Glad to see the chassis going to someone to use and not going to the scrappers.
Good job on the loading.
it will get used on multiple projects. CE didnt want to see it get scrapped either....i think this was a great solution.

-11* is the lowest i have seen. it has warmed up today. 18* but feels like 4* with the wind.

What a versatile piece of equipment that Grade-All is!

One fine Gradall operator right there and the camera lady has a good eye.
it was like putting 10lbs of crap in a 5lbs bag! she did good!
Clearing stuff out for more stuff to come. That's awesome man keep it up bud....
the winter weather slows things down but a little progress is better than none!
Looks like the journey has begun, cool to see the GradAll as the star of the show again too.

Well, Logan must have a special need for that old frame and engine. Part of dealing with ol trucks is the fellowship that goes with them!😆

So whats The latest on the Loadstar Rat Rod Project? Still happening? just wondering as I know what projects are like lol
I've got a 1962 IH 1600 thinking of putting cab on 2005 International school bus 7.3 chassis and building a classic ramp truck.

He needs a bigger trailer?
so what's happening to that rat rod build I am very intrested
Wait I see a pattern developing, when JC came and got the truck someone else had to go set in the Freightliner because we were talking and looking at projects! Lol
i suppose your right CE...i could talk trucks forever....i may have proved that with logan! the project is making progress!
And there's nothing wrong with talking trucks!!!!!
This old IH has a 7000 front with a 15,500 rear. The engine is a 345,
I wish you guys could help me on my old international
When in doubt use the gradall
That was another great job loading with gradall. his trailer just almost not big enough.
it worked out ok...and he made it home with out any trouble.
Just going to fit , tight !
Yea you mad it look easy jc. Watched Doug and nick unload it wasn’t as easy. He had tractor issues lol. Ready to see that truck come back to life.
That’s Logan nic that is.
that machine makes it look easy not me. logan was thinking his tractor may not be strong enough to lift one end but he could have removed the front tires and take off about 300 lbs maybe. he got it of ok.
Yea but your the brains to that machine my friend. And Logan did just fine getting off with what he hard.
hope it didnt shift sideways on the trip home
no it was chained down very well. 4 chains and binders just on the front! it wasnt going anywhere! he made it home with no troubles.
You wouldn't believe the amount of times I have sen some guy driving a chassis down the road with a seat and temporary floor and some semblance of the dash with rigged up lights....looks funny as hell but I dont know if I would want to risk doing it.
we did....did you see the video of the bus body removal?
No I will have to have a look at it.
Poetry in motion , Don't ya lovit when yer plan comes together quoted from John "Hannibal" Smith , Hmmmm thinks he might be yor kin.
it did work pretty well. that was one of my favorite shows as a kid!
It,s kinda sad to see the old binder in 2 pieces even though they wasn,t the best brand new
it will live again! i will use the body and our friend logan will use the remaining parts for his loadstar.

J.C. SMITH PROJECTS you're better
I'd have chained it much differently... no such thing as to many chains
pff looks like a carvul slow trip home you dare
it was a slow trip for him but he made it just fine.
