This is perfect! Trying to make N/S part of my game & this was 1 of the subs I was really hoping to get a good grip on. I think this breakdown will do just that, thank you!
Learnt this today… some additional pointers the coach advised to help with this is to pin his free arm with your leg incase he tries to clasp his hands together for defense. You can also sprawl from north south before you do the finish…
Thank you! This helped me find a sweet spot for myself. I love getting side control and getting a hold of this and the arm bar... by chance is there another route I could go if they end up getting a hold of their arm before I can lock in the Kimura?
Hey @John, are you talking about if they are able to grasp hands (or even grab their own gi) to create a defense before you are able to finish the kimura?
Yes thats what I meant sorry. Im just exhausted life has been mad busy lately. But yeah I would be able to start this technique being fairly new still and I might not have the arm as tight as should be and they get their hands together and start to fight against it. Of course this makes it more difficult on my end. Just wondering if there is a technique (I'm sure there is haha) to gaining back the advantage. Thank you
