Franchise: Fit shops up with stationary bikes, and link them to chargeable batteries. Offer cheap membership and *free* exercise sessions to members. Sell the electricity generated by their pedaling to the grid (as one does with solar). If anyone wants to do the sums, and try to make it work, you're welcome to the idea.

Maybe alcohol was involved? I was at a customer from the northern mid-west. It was early winter. The engineer I was working with got a call. His retired dad and friends were day drinking and they decided to take the fishing shack out onto the lake. His mom tried to tell his dad it hasn't been approved yet and to not do it. His drunk dad and drunk friends did it anyway. They got out about 100 feet and fell through the ice. Fortunately, only the nose of the truck went through and they got out safely.

I remember myself and two friends being dragged about ¼ of a mile down a beach by a kite surf once before we realised we were just gonna have to let it go and hope for the best. We looked like we'd been dug up out of the sand. Fun times 😂

When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️

But why is walking on an escalator in opposite direction considered stupid and running on a treadmill considered exercise.
The escalator is a better workout and it's free. Of course, you have to get yourself to the mall to use it.

the zipline one reminds me of the one time i went bungee-trampolining, it was chafing quite a bit so i decided to take a break. except the whole point is the momentum going up and down on the trampoline. meaning i got stuck in the middle, just hanging there, and they had to let me down...

Around here we have these little acrylic "pucks" screwed in between our uppy - downy escalators at regular intervals in order to discourage butt slides or encourage wedgies and owies...lol.
