How To Tackle a Chaotic Airing Cupboard (Mid-Move Organisation)

For this week’s How-To, I decided to tackle our slightly chaotic airing cupboard with you all, as recently it’s been a dumping ground for all sorts of things! As always, I’m starting at the top and working my way down - I find this the ultimate way to tidy.
As suggested by you, I organised our bed sheets and towels so we’re ready for the first night in the new house. I also dealt with the kids' sheets, swimwear, and a plethora of other items, figuring out what to keep, donate, or re-home. Lastly, I carefully gathered some of the more sentimental items, making sure to safely store beautiful linens from my mum and grandmother.
I hope you find this week's How-To inspires you to just do it, sometimes the thought of clearing a tricky area is daunting but once you start, it's often easier than you imagined! As with all of Sigh and I's organising so far, it’s really been key to stay calm and keep a sense of humour as we go.

You’re wonderful Charlie, I so look forward to all your tips and tricks! I’m as guilty as the next person for keeping things ‘just in case’ and also for sentimental reasons, which is allowed isn’t it. It’s when one moves house that it really is the time to be as ruthless as one can be because sometimes it’s the only thing to do. Good luck with moving day Charlie.

Thank you for your Vlog Charlie. I hope that your landlord really ‘appreciates’ all the freshening up and improvements that you will be making to your new home. We have the LVP flooring throughout our Tassie summer cottage, it’s a great choice, not noisy underfoot and easy to maintain. Wow, all your hot water bottles, that’s a lot of filling and wiping / squishiness. We warm the beds with electric blankets now, just on a low setting then (promptly, before you fall asleep 😉) turn them off when we climb into bed, life changing 😘.

We too have a large pile of 'dog towels" like yours, but at least you have several dogs whereas we have one small Westie. Thanks for the insight into how you sort the dreaded linen cupboard. Good luck for the coming week's move.
