Hello wolfpack, been a Lovebites fan for quite a while, today they are finally here.
This is my very first video, I go over a few of my thoughts and then react (poorly) to the new video. Guess I have to practice a bit, either way, Im not here to grind youtube, so dont expect a lot of uploads, not for the foreseeable future anyway.

"After the departure of bassist Miho in August 2021, LOVEBITES went on hiatus for a while. In order to find a new bassist, the band held auditions in April 2022, open to all nationalities, ages and genders from around the world. After a long process, Fami was selected as LOVEBITES’ new bassist.
Fami is a 20-year-old bass player from Japan who has experience of performing live and working with many artists since her teenage years. She has also produced her own solo album, writing all the music and lyrics, and is experienced in expressing herself as an artist. Her TH-cam channel boasts around 650k subscribers and over 58 million views, which she started making content for while she was still in high school.
The members of LOVEBITES prepared this statement on welcoming Fami;
“After a long audition process, we are very pleased to announce that Fami is our new bassist. We would like to thank all of our fans who supported us during our hiatus, as well as all of the bass players and musicians from around the world who participated in the audition. We are now a 5-piece band again, and even stronger and more excited to share our heavy metal music with you again, as well as to see you live at venues as the new LOVEBITES. That day will come along soon, please wait a little while longer.”

What a first video. Excellent. I think the black is only for the reveal. They’re wearing their own clothes, I recognise some of them. It’s a statement of change. Lovebites was written in Black at the beginning but white at the end.

What a way to start your channel! They made a great choice, not one I expected but she's going to add some new elements to their sound. And she is a monster shredder. As you point out, she is already a big presence on youtube, so this is a merger of strengths. Your criticism of the Japanese labels is fair, but there is also a huge amount of resistance from the U.S. music establishment to giving exposure to foreign acts.
I mean, the US can resist all they want, I dont think thats the issue, its 2022 and japanese labels are stuck in the 90s, the internet is huge and we dont need the US to spread music anymore.
Kpop for example is huge now, they just brute forced their way into the industry, now im not saying Japanese labels need to be like korean ones, definitely not, the kpop industry is bad in many ways, but they could definitely learn some marketing tricks.
When it comes to Lovebites, i'd like to see them make more use of their social platforms and most importantly their youtube channel, that channel is completely empty, like why arent there any videos like Haruna's playthroughs? or guitar playthroughs, or maybe a few videos where we get to know the members a bit more, etc.
Check out FAMI channel, she is just 20yr/o watch her play bass and do bass cover songs..
Watch out for new LOVEBITES, they changed from WHITE DRESSES TO BLACK DRESSES and with 5string bass, maybe their new songs with bass solo's as FAMI is expert in bass solo's and MIDORI/MIYAKO with 7string guitars... 🤘🤘🤘
I dont think they will change to black, Miyako just recently got a new white and gold guitar strap and white amps, personally I prefer that way, theres enough black in metal.
Bass solos would be amazing, would love to see the 7strings!!

I actually discovered the modern day Japanese female metal scene after I attended a metal festival in Chicago in 2016, and Babymetal was playing one of the side stages. I was intrigued because I had never seen anything like that. So I started watching them on TH-cam, and TH-cam eventually started suggesting other Japanese rock and metal bands, which is how I discovered Lovebites, Nemophila and Band-Maid. I've never been much of an anime fan, so I haven't really discovered any music because of that. But I am sure many people have. Prior to Babymetal, the only Japanese metal I knew was Loudness and X-Japan, both of whom became popular in the 80s before anime became a worldwide thing.
Babymetal and Band-Maid are definitely 2 bands that got a bit of international attention, their gimmicks shocks people right from the start, but they eventually stay for the music.
Lovebites has that same appeal in my opinion, but they havent reached the same level of popularity of the other 2.
Fami was a five-string bassist who could dance, sing, and play with 650,000 TH-cam subscribers.
Fami is 20 years old with a cute smile.
She can also play rhythm guitar.
The music volume was on the quiet side. Don't forget that Fami sings and wrote and produced her own songs so she potentially brings more to the table than just exceptional bass playing. And yes LOVEBITES just got bigger. 😂😂
Yes, at the moment I made the video I didnt know she sings and writes music, thats exciting.
I will try to make an overall better video next time.

Lovebites with slap bass is what we NEED. They made a really good choice with Fami 🙂
She has great energy and is having fun, cant wait for the slap.
@@nanoscorner6976 To be honest, I don't expect a lot of slap from Fami. Doing solo bass vids you have to do more than just play bass, and I think it's likely that Fami will be more of just a straight up bassist with Lovebites, while using the slap and other animated techniques for her solo vids (which she says she'll still be doing).

Its good they are back because they are amazing band and they have excelent sound
More greatness coming from the Queens of metal soon !. Other than studio dress, they were always in white on stage..Black is perfectly fine with me..They're pure elegance in whatever they wear.. Fami is an amazing bassist, and I'm sure she'll get her time to shine in this band of virtuosos!

Fami also does a lot of tapping in her videos and i think that would maybe fit much more into Lovebites style than the slapping. And if its only for the coolness factor. Miho did it just once in a song, as far as i saw it, and every reactor who noticed it was at least mostly exited.

Today FAMI had a announcement on her page... The excitement that she displayed was amazing as she was telling a story...First of all how she was able to be face to face with viewers (Known for why she hid her face in videos was due to in Japan if you have a job and post your face on the internet can get you fired). Also how she was at a crossroads of giving up and then she saw the auditions for LOVEBITES and she passed., She was told this is what they play and how it will be and for her she felt a being reborn and a purpose in her life with her projects... Now all this was with her excitement trying to explain was talking at the speed of light sort of. lol! (Translation CC on couldn't keep up. ) But the bottom line is she wants to be 100% into being the bassist for LOVEBITES and a great addition she will be... 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Bravehearted is Haruna's song. Written and performed first in Japanese, they re-recorded it in English after Asami helped Haruna with the English Lyrics. This is significant because it sings about 'Redemption' and is a very fast tempo - Haruna is saying Fami can keep up with her and that they can be The Rhythm Team going forward. I expect some slap action on newer songs, and maybe even some of the older ones. Lovbites showed videos of them obviously working on new music this summer, so I don't think it will be long before they release something new - and maybe a CD and a quick Tour to support it by Christmas. Hopefully followed by a US Tour in Summer Festival time, where theycome close enough that I can go.
I will guarantee that they will return to the UK for the summer festivals ie Bloodstock and some european ie Wacken. These summer festivals are bigger than the US and more well known primarily this style of music is more appreciated in this part of the world

FYI, the audio on the video clip is too much lower than your voice.
One of the things I like about Fami being so young is that she has a great opportunity to grow under the mentorship of the band.
