Sir I think aqua regia is still used by people cuz a few months ago my mother borrowed a liquid from her friend and put her anklet (which was oxidised) in that liquid after 2-3 hours it came out shiny. At that time I didn't knew what was it but I think it's aqua regia.
but i guess aqua regia is so corrosive it can dissolve any metal bcz of hcl and nitric acid ratio 3:1 so may be it was not aqua regia
