If you are a believer in Christ since many years, you may have realised that Christian life is not easy because we have to go through the narrow way of obedience through which we get the blessings that we are expecting from God. When we accept Jesus Christ into our life, we begin our journey with God towards spiritual maturity. When you face troubles and challenges, the only solution is to follow Jesus. In His great love, God brought the Israelites out of slavery to a prosperous land. The same is true with us. God has done many good things in our life but whenever we face any new problems, we are filled with anger, worry and fear forgetting all the good things that God has done for us. If we continue like that, God will definitely punish us and our wilderness will be very harsh for us. We should be thankful for the little things that God has done and we should trust God. God humbles us to teach us that we should not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth. He wants us to live in desperate need of him; always depending upon him to live this spiritual life. Then only our life in Christ will be successful.
It is God’s commandment for us to bear one another’s burden and that means helping the fellow believer to carry the weight of their spiritual and worldly troubles. Everyone has to carry his own load and help others to carry theirs. Life is difficult for everyone in this world. God provides his help for his people through his church. God allows suffering for several reasons. He uses suffering to break the chains of bondage in our hearts to humble us down and obey to walk in his ways, to purify us and bring us closer to him. If we go far away from God, we will have problems. All of us need food which gives us energy and strength. In the same way our spirit needs strength and power through righteousness. Only then we can face the life challenges. We have to work for our spiritual food. For that we need each other’s help to stand strong spiritually. We are not asked to pull others out of their sufferings but help them to go through their sufferings righteously. We should encourage each other giving the other person strength to do what is not possible. It gives us power and we also need to pray for each other. Bear each other’s burdens by restoring others from their sins. Some people are doubtful, not serious about their sins. We need to approach such people in the spirit of gentleness. If we are wise in our own eyes, thoughts and ways we will be left without hope one day. We need people in our life who will help us not to fall. In Exodus 17.11-13 we see that God had called Moses to help the Israelites win their battle. For that he had to raise his staff into the air. When Moses’ hands grew tired, his friends Aaron and Hur came along with him to help him. Pastors are like Moses who should help the congregation to win their battle. They have to constantly pray for their congregation, encourage and watch over them. Thus, they are releasing the power and protection of God over the congregation. It is our duty to make Pastor’s work easier. The connection between Moses Aaron and Hur in the church is unity. If you are a part of Christ body, you need to bear each other’s burden.
