Hello Everyone! I’m making this video public while hiking back from an overnight backpacking trip. I’m not sure how long I’ll have service but I’ll respond to comments as soon as I do!
As a single female that loves the outdoors, camps and travels by herself you are very brave. You are a unique outdoors woman, keep up the good work! I enjoy watching your videos! Lone Bear!
My friend just texted me and said I may have found your wife, look up Woodsy. I looked at a short portion of your video. Initially I agree with him. Be safe and God Bless.
Lady, you are super impressive! I would have thrown in the towel and stayed at the first campsite for a few nights and called it good! The perseverance you showed in getting around the mud obstacle was first class! Kudos!
Haha well I was worried about that bc my reservation was for Treeby Lake. There was only one on Fenton and I wasn’t 100% sure nobody had booked Fenton. Thank you though, I appreciate that ☺️☺️☺️

Love your patience and attitude when dealing with problems! The one thing I tell people that want to go camping with me. I don't care how experienced you are, but you need to have patience and a great positive attitude! It can be easy to get deflated quick when you get "stuck" in a situation like yours. But you stayed calm and got through it! And your steak looked fire!! I love hot rock and coal cooking a steak!! Looking forward to part two!! And your editing skills are getting better each time too! Keep it up!!! -Your MN Neighbour
Very impressive! I'm so glad you have the perseverance! You don't give up even when an obstacle comes in your path! I love that! You are very smart! Keep it up! 😎✅ (Now on to part 2🤣)
Problem solving is part and parcel of camping and kayaking, you adapted, improvised and overcame. Looking forward to the next chapter in your adventure and stay safe out there…
You persevered! That's awesome. Ha, I definitely would've been like "nope" and just stayed at the first campsite. Definitely admirable. Looking forward to the next video!
I just finished the upper winter Creek trail hike approximately 16 miles, I just love to see other people who understand and value what nature does to rejuvenate and renew us. Hiking allowed me such Peace of Mind during covid, just to get away from the madness. Honestly, this sista is impressive, I'm so surprised and inspired 😊
Wow! You are very courageous! If i was in your shoes, i would be calling my mom and dad, and 911. I trust that you prioritize your safety, your health, and well-being when you go on adventures. Thank you for sharing your time, problem solving, and experiences. You ROCK! Pops
😂😂 I shouldn’t laugh but Ive stopped bothering my mom. She got enough of me calling her during my first couple camping trips anytime I heard a noise outside of my tent. Of course and thank you soo much for watching ☺️
@Apeaceofthewoods I've never officially camped or hiked. I'm considering buying a campervan, a kayak, leaving my cave, seeing the sun again, and exploring the outdoors. Thank you for being inspiring. Pops
I love your ambition and your passion for the beauty in our wilderness. Please be careful soloing especially on water. I almost lost my fishing partner as we were confused as to where we actually were and went over a 8 foot waterfall, Nora of Waw Waw. All waterways are affected by this low water period. There huge brook trout in that area! Be careful and safe. Pay attention to your surroundings!❤❤❤😊
Wow that is terrifying. It is definitely easy to lose your bearings out there. Ahh I wish I would have been able to catch something. I will be both careful and safe thank you ☺️☺️☺️
You had quite an adventure on your solo fall canoe trip! From navigating the challenges of finding a campsite and dealing with quicksand-like mud at the portage to improvising your meals and creating a bridge with logs, you showed incredible resilience. Your determination to make the trip work despite the obstacles is truly inspiring. Plus, your ribeye steak, potato mash, and broccoli meal sounds delicious, even with the missing ingredients! Great job on overcoming the challenges and making the most of your journey. I love your videos
Very scary looking quicksand. The water levels have been very low this year due to the lack of rain. You manage very well and safely too. I paddle in the east end of Algoma District, couple of hours aways from the Sault. Good to see a video from this neck of the woods. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for another video. Problem identification leads to problem solving. Problem solving leads to greater confidence. Call me crazy, but you seem to have that whole chain pretty well down!
Very nice video. Good for you to persevere. Canadian waters can be challenging. I could not get to a portage on my Ranger Lake video. That situation could have been the end of that journey. Excellent problem solving. Looking forward to part 2.
Hi Woodsy, thanks for bringing us another adventure, in multiple parts no less. 😁That mud was no joke. I have never seen a mess like that at a portage before. It was awesome how you calmly decided to probe for a path through and your solution was well thought out. So happy for you that your trip wasn't greatly altered and looking forward to the next part. Thanks again for taking us along, that is some very beautiful scenery up North of the border.
I just started doing outdoorsy stuff the last couple of years and backpacking this year-not anything nearly as ambitious as you’re doing yet. Love watching your videos!
Good evening as always Thank You for sharing your video they are very much appreciated it hopefully you’re staying safe and healthy enjoy your week and weekend god bless you and your family
Problem solving? Check. Improvisational skills? Check. A big juicy steak dinner? Check. You got grit girl! This was one of the best episodes ever. Can't wait to see part 2!
Wow , thanks for the video. Inspired me to travel to Canada, so beautiful. Also you have made my mind up to purchase a canoe. I haven't been conoeing since I was a teenager im 63 now.
I absolutely loved video, your so beautiful and smart. Can't believe u cooked the ribeye on a rock and it looked that good. I'm so glad you didn't go into the DEEP mud, you could have died like quicksand 😢. It ended abruptly and I wanted so much more. Your my favorite solo camper and I watch alot of camping videos. I can't wait to see you next video. Thank you so much for posting and overcoming the obstacles. Such a great view. JOSH
Well thank you so much ☺️ you’re so nice. I can’t believe I’m your favorite but I appreciate that! Haha I wouldn’t have put myself in a situation to get stuck in it an die 😂 I was not about to get out and get into it. Next video will be coming soon ☺️
These videos are so cool to watch. I am a 29 y/o women that likes to hike, but am scared to go out alone on longer hikes. I've been trying to work up the courage to go lately. Big props to you for doing this and figuring out the unknown alone!
Great video. It’s not always easy adventuring in the wild solo. I like that you share your troubles along with your triumphs. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do next. I just spent three days hiking the Manistee/North Country Trail loop. It was beautiful and exhausting.
Glad to see you thought through that mud situation calmly and logically...that can be some dangerous stuff, especially alone. Glad you're safe! Looks like it was worth it
For sure. Ive never encountered anything like it but I can imagine it being dangerous. Which why I wasn’t going to push it that first day. It was definitely worth it in the end ☺️
You're living the dream! Love the meal time, you always make me hungry. Looked appetizing! Glad you made it to Treeby Lake, Canada is absolutely breathtaking but please stay SAFE out there. Hope you're armed. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I felt the apprehension when you were trying to find a way to get through that mud! My heart was pounding. Way to go! You are awesome! Whew...😥 I'm relieved you made it through and it was clear on the other side. Can't wait for pt.2😊
You really dove in with the whole outdoors. I love that! Stay safe out there and always carry... also ( not that you'll remember) but I upgraded my canoe to a smaller 12 footer I can now take load it and unload it by my self
@Apeaceofthewoods Ah!! You do remember! Yes! I went ahead and cleaned it up, gave it a new coat of paint as well as added a seat and rails. I got my self a BRAND NEW old town canoe discovery 119 it's pretty sweat for a one person and really light too. A little under 500$ now I just gotta look for places like yours where I need to do portages.
Really well done! You are tenacious. Great problem solving on the portage. Just go up shore and find a spot to put in and bushwack back to the portage. If your canoe will float empty just line it on the water closer. You are all over this!👍👍
I stumbled on one of your other videos. I had to click on another it see what was really going on. Oh you do this for real!! Impressive stuff. Keep going, be safe out there.
Wow... some mean obstacles you had there. I am so glad you figured it out and am looking forward to your next video (and the hike you are coming back from)
You are one tuff potato ! I hope you inspire our youth to get out there. Im afraid my odometer has rolled and I only camp out in my dreams now. I hope your channel grows and you gain support for your efforts ! Take care and stay close to the wild !
Haha thanks ☺️ I hope so too. Getting outside even with others would benefit most people. I only hope that when I’m at that point myself, I can dream of all the adventures I didnt let pass me by. If I’m at that place, I’ll be perfectly happy. Seems like you’ve got quite a few adventures to look back on yourself ☺️. Will do!
Well played young Lady, well played...... You should look at lightweight waders. I have a pair that are chest high. They don't stand up to much abuse but they keep the mud off and more importantly you stay dry. It's a pleasure to watch you figure things out, over come and grow. You should be proud of yourself. Nice looking ribeye btw
Thank you!! ☺️ I’m so happy it worked out and the mud didn’t end my trip! I was thinking about waders. Are there any good light weight options you know of?
I had to watch the video in two segments due to a busy afternoon. Ok so "the adventures of Dollface part 1". Literally, action packed like a comic book as you had to maintain faith and hope & utilize creativity to overcome all that ridiculous mudd terrain. This is DEF not for someone who's lazy & expects everything to just come to their lap. Takes a lot of hustle & perseverance. But i absolutely loved the final zone you encountered at the end of the vid 👍 looked like it's little own paradise. 😊
Haha that mud was ridiculous! It goes to show that you never know what challenges nature will present because I never would have thought mud could set me back like that. Haha it was a lot of work to get around but definitely worth it. Treeby lake was gorgeous. Thank you for all the positive feedback ☺️☺️☺️
@@Apeaceofthewoods crazy as it sounds, your vids give me hope. You're like Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games). You look like a fancy New Yorker who works in one of those posh boutiques lol. BUT then in reality, you're this total survivalist who finds pleasure & serenity within nature. It's all actually very beautiful & spiritual if you really think about it lol.
I guess part of the fun is figuring out the unforseen stuff (💩). But when time is a issue, it is a little irritating. Great meal by the way 😋 👍🏻. I feel the same way. Great food is half the fun. Can't wait for the rest of this trip. I know you lived to tell the tale lol 😅...❤
Excellent ttip! Way to work thru the issues that arise. Fun videos to watch and fun watching your experience level grow. Psrt 2 please. Thanks for sharing
oh, hope your path is a loop so you don't have to double-back through the muddy shore. good job on the video. no problems breaking it up. gives us all something to look forward to.
whewwww what a trooper !!! Tenacity wins !! “Palma Non Sine Pulvere”......No prize without effort No victory without struggle !!! The steak meal looked crazy awesome but that fly was chowing down before you were ! :)))))
You had some creepy crawlers all over your steak, extra protein never hurt anybody, lol. Good job not taking that chance with the original campsite. I have friend in Nova Scotia , Canada. I spoke to the yesterday and they’re telling that it’s starting to get really cold there. Stay warm, dry as much as possible, safety first.
I know! I didn’t see it until I was editing and realized I probably ate it 🤦♀️. It got pretty cold at night when I was there. Absolutely, will do ☺️☺️
I had no idea that much mud was possible! The fishing is bad! I’m just leaving where I planned to fish Grass Lake in the Northern lower peninsula but the water level was way too low. I’ve probably got one more fall trip left to see if I can finally do that catch and cook
@@Apeaceofthewoods I didn't fish much when I was at Tippy Dam Pond last year, but I saw an older couple catch 3 walleye one morning, Tippy dam pond is west of Cadillac. The only other thing I can think of in the lower peninsula for Canoe, Camp, Catch, and Cook is the rivers. There are a bunch of good fishing channels in Mi. on youtube. There are some lakes in state land, but Hunting Season is here, I stay out of the state land during that.
Well young lady , Welcome to Canada, Good to have ya here , plz enjoy our Beautiful waterways to film on / in , There here for woodsy people like yrself lol 😉
This channel popped up on my feed yesterday (these channels are my entertainment these days) and this will be one of them. It is so much more interesting peeking into other peoples adventures than Hollywood movies (which I abandoned some time ago). Great video! You are going have a large catalogue of great memories where you are older. Are there more than these ones elsewhere?

My favorite camper on another trip 😍👍🏾
Woodsy, keep up these regular videos and you’re going to have millions of followers.
Haha we will see. I’m trying to get them out as quickly as I can! ☺️☺️
Wow!!! Good work on figuring out the mud deal. Crazy. I love Canada! The fishing is usually really good.
I appreciate that ☺️ Haha really? It wasn’t for me….but could have been me. Could have been the wind…not really sure at this point lol
Beautiful video!Thank you for all the time and effort you put into it!
Thank you!! I appreciate you taking your time to be here and watch ☺️
I'm glad you're ok. I always worry about you. Come on back to Washington!!!
7:00 Wow! That looks amazing!!!
whewwww what a trooper !!! Tenacity wins !!
“Palma Non Sine Pulvere”......No prize without effort No victory without struggle !!!
The steak meal looked crazy awesome but that fly was chowing down before you were ! :)))))
True and I loved Treeeby lake so it was all worth it in the end. Haha that fly! I didn’t even see it until I was editing
Absolutely, will do ☺️☺️
🙏Well Done! I appreciate your fortitude and enjoyed the video!
When Woodsy post… I immediately click to watch!
Awww I appreciate you so much ☺️☺️☺️
You're hilarious! You and your 4 star Ala Carte camping dinners! Gotta have a protein, starch, and veg. 👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼 Ribeyes are my fav cut.......🤤
Got off to a muddy start but this is looking like a beautiful spot to be in if the weather cooperates!! Exciting 🖤🖤🖤
It was beautiful. I will go back for sure ☺️
Wow, that mud was crazy, and you just keep going, that's awesome! Stay safe. How's the fishing going? Hot tents and Ice fishing next!
You've come a long way Woodsy. Nice cooking that steak, 😋. Glad you posted this 🥰
Aww you think so? I appreciate that so much ☺️ haha except for the bugs in it 🤦♀️ lol
@@Apeaceofthewoods 🤣

I'm glad for another one of your videos, have fun beautiful
Thank you ☺️☺️☺️
This channel popped up on my feed yesterday (these channels are my entertainment these days) and this will be one of them. It is so much more interesting peeking into other peoples adventures than Hollywood movies (which I abandoned some time ago). Great video! You are going have a large catalogue of great memories where you are older.
Are there more than these ones elsewhere?
I love this video! Reminds me that I am long overdue for an adventure like this of my own!
Aww thank you!! Hope you are planning one soon ☺️
@@Apeaceofthewoods Late spring next year would be wonderful.
I think very few people like goinghip deep in mud unless being swarmed by bees hornets wasps & biting flys, good luck on episode 2
The first meal looks good 😊
Nice job with the mud!!! Stay safe!!!
Thank you!! ☺️ Will do
