I don't think it's for the reasons you think. Some just think it's funny, especially for a character like Peach who's normally very normal compared to other Mario characters. In fact, as a kid I used to find that trope of "Beauty is never tarnished," kinda bad, because it always annoyed me in cartoons the male characters would look goofy or have goofy things happen to them, but the females never do. (Like you used to never see female cartoon characters get comically hurt, electrocuted, get flattened, and such, but males would.) That's changed a bit now that some female cartoon characters have gotten sillier.
If you text 'I love you' to a person and the person writes back an emoji - no matter what that emoji is, they don't love you back. You are the last thought in my mind before I drift off to sleep and the first thought when I wake up each morning.
