My grandmother passed away this Saturday. Red was her favourite colour. She was a hustler, a protector, deeply passionate but also humble and funny. The night she passed, there were huge storms, tornadoes and torrential rain. I lit a red candle and placed red flowers in honour of my grandmother; I asked for her protection and guidance to the ancestral realm, all without knowing the Orisha Oya. Thank you for this video, it confirms what I felt intuitively 🙏🏾
I've called on Oya during a storm several times even played her music. It was me and my son coming from grocery store no umbrellas it was about to be nasty I kept saying her name I had him say it as well. He was 4yo it was so cute just repeating everything so clear. We kept saying Oya we love you please don't rain on us yet please wait till we get home Oya the mother of nine the warrior please don't rain on us. Mannnnn as soon as we got to my steps opened the door made it inside a down pouring began. 😩😳

She loves purple, and rustic colors like wine, burnt orange, browns, burgundy’s, copper, maroons, aubergine (dark purple) plums. She loves tobacco, eggplants, plums and purple grapes and legumes. She loves masks, the number 9 is associated with her. Her stones are amethysts, garnets. Black opals and labradorites. Her animals are mainly birds specially sparrows and purple martins, she also likes insects but specially fire flies dragon flies. She loves bats deer and water buffalo. There is so much information about her it’s amazing ever since I was a little girl and I got connected to my roots, I started realizing all of the things that tide me to Oya. 🙏🏽💜

The day before our wedding there was a storm (Florida) that only lasted minutes. My husband filmed it and posted "So beautiful, like my future wife". People were confused and thought he was being mean, but I was amused. It was beautiful after. There was also rain and lightening during our wedding, and a double rainbow after. In fact it rained from 10 minutes before our wedding to 10 minutes after. We made an alter for loved ones who passed and I believe there were many tears from the sky because they could not be there with our family in flesh. She may not be my Orisha (my mood changes but I don't get mad-mad and I'm more nurturing even when I'm moody), but I do feel connected with her on some level.

Peace and blessings! First I must say I am in love with that Sage to girl!! Isn't Yemaya Oya's mother. I believe Oya's anger is of a righteous nature. The storms destroy to bring about positive changes. They destroy illusions and lies opening pathways to truth. Oya is an Orishas of honor and integrity. Thank you for sharing another story version of her. PEACE LOVE HEALING
Blaque Witch Yaya, this is one of my FAVORITE of ur Orisha videos! Bless u for mentioning that spirituality is INTUITIVE! So perfect. It breaks my heart ❤️ how TRUE it is that the spiritual nature of OYA is difficult for many to understand as a female deity. You did a fantastic job to translate in the way we understand female behavior. Women and girls who have a natural way that relates to the characteristics of Oya will feel great self acceptance after listening to this video. My sense of WARRIOR is so easily related to the stories of Oya. I lose any sense of SHAME once I hear ur explanation! Especially as u explain weather, I better understand emotional states that are most often judged and shamed when found in women and girls. NOW I see strength and a much needed expression of emotions during times where CHANGE must come. Understanding death and change is one we must ALL face, so how beautiful to understand it in the realm of divine order and balance, especially when it comes to PROTECTION during WARfare!
In the stories I was told Oya took lightning from Xango, and because she's doesn't wait for Him she always strikes first and Xango follows her into battle. And that's why thunder always comes after lightning.

Last night I dreamed of tornadoes, tornadoes all over the place and around me but not hitting me. Then somewhere in the dream I heard the name Oya. I know she represents change.
These videos are EVERYTHING. Yes I was brought here by Beyoncé, but I stayed for the info. I'm looking forward to more on the male ditties. Love and light😘
I think it is important to make note that these stories aren’t necessarily reflective of how Orisa is practiced in Nigeria in Yorubaland their origins. They are more connected with how things are practiced here in the diaspora influenced by the lucumi tradition as practiced in Cuba. Even the song in the intro.
I'm so happy to find this! I'm a fire sign, but i love rain. My temper blows up with no control so i just have to wait it out. This makes so much sense. I am the daughter of Oya ☺.
I really enjoyed learning about her. It’s funny Shango is my ex husband’s middle name. He always said he hated it. We knew it meant the god of thunder, but not the story behind him. It’s definitely fitting because he was always up in other females faces hence why I divorced him.😂😂
I am the daughter of Oya 👑 I feel like you described everything about me. And my man sent me this video saying that you explained me to the T! She is my Orisha too . Bless you sister
Thank you for this Story! My Ancestors began speaking to me at the end when you talked about the time of the year all 3 Orishas are together!!! I live in Cali and every single time we have bad storms I always express my gratitude for safety and keeping and say, "Oooo they mad" AND STAY IN MY PLACE OF GRATITUDE AND HONORING THEM!
Thanks for introducing our ancestors. I needed this video. my bong broke after I made a tantrum, and a thunderstorm passed by after that. … I’m guessing the gods are asking me to connect and recognize my anger, and how we can break and destroy at will, just because we have emotions. Real power comes from auto control! Beautiful ancestral knowledge!!

My Santero told me that Chango is the equivalent of Zeus and Oya is like Hera.I was Iike, "Oh Gotcha"! Great story, I love it. I will make sure to teach my children these stories. Beautiful art too. During a Hurricane Oya is the Hype Chic! 😂

That's the vibe I'm getting from this story myself. Also it's Interesting... originally one of the symbols of the followers of Zeus was a bronze axe. Also Celtic Sky Father God Tarran, who also thunders through the sky creating storms, one of his primary weapons\symbols was also a axe. Very strange similarities overall and coincidences.
Yes I have started tapping into learning who I am and where my people originate from. I want to get back to old traditions and teach my 4 kings who they are. I want to take back OUR BlaKness back... this journey so far has been mind blowing to say the very least. The knowledge I've stumbled on they / AmeriKKKa heva kept hidden for so long and I just feel that it is my duty as a single Afrikan Queen / Mom I have to educate myself tin order to strengthen my All Male Tibe of Four. WTBS I would love an Orisha Reading how do I schedule it :))))) and my Birthday is coming up whew ...... I feel something n the Atmosphere
So much alignment here. One, I've been told to learn about them but with extreme caution as once you're in, there's no turning back. Two, I don't even remember bookmarking this video YET it played on my watch later. There were so many points when you talked about storms that connected heavily especially having moments of intense anger. Four, I'm only online developing research for my empire that I know is going to be the seed of my wealth. Lastly, before I watched this video I changed into something more comfortable and coincidently, the color is dark red; I don't own a lot of red. Not saying it aloud yet, but a mental note was taken.
When I got my test bacc saying I’m Igbo from Nigeria, I watched a few similar videos. When oya name was said thunder hit and rain wasn’t in the forecast. I took that as a sign, your video was more entertaining than others st8 to the point and simplified. I enjoyed it peace and blessings to you.

My cousin is for sure she went to arguing with her husband and they drove to my house with it. Meanwhile I am watching the sun so beautiful in the sky, they pull up going at it and I look up a dark cloud cane from no where and it went to storming. I looked at her and told her you formed this storm

ancestral calling brought me here. The cross was never part of our spirituality but if that's what makes you feel close to here than so be it. Respect given, respect received.
I realize with the Orishas every thing they went through lead them to there super power it’s like they knew subconsciously already. It feels so relatable
I am a child of Oya - which is surprising considering I'm a gay Polish Buddhist . . . I'm not aggressive - I do not have to be, I'm assertive, I don't start fights - I finish them. My words destroy people before my fists do.

Oya is my protectress and has been since I was ye high…She is my guardian, and she ALWAYS comes in the form of a tornado or a black raven when she visits me… she’s come to me via dream, visions, and in the 3D when I’m alone in prayer/meditation, and I can also see her energy signature in other people..I know my siblings!!!.. Storms speak to me, they make me orgasmic, I get a rush during storms, my body becomes electric and I can taste it…OYA tells me why she has arrived and what’s she’s about to do, b4 storms reache its intensity…and if I’m out, I’m always guided to safety, or she’ll hold back until I’m safe and sound…I RESPECT THE WORKINGS OF ALL ORISHAS, AND STAY OUT OF THE WAY! Oya has MANY paths(signatures) … and you will KNOW, if you are one of her children, no one will have to tell you.. SHE will reveal herself to you.. SHE will tell you!

I had a reading, and Shango came through and said I reminded him of Oya. So now I'm doing research and we are extremely alike.
Awwwwww ! I love it ! 💙🧜🏾♀️
Also a sign of fertility in the marriage
What does a double rainbow mean?

First I must say I am in love with that Sage to girl!!
Isn't Yemaya Oya's mother.
I believe Oya's anger is of a righteous nature. The storms destroy to bring about positive changes. They destroy illusions and lies opening pathways to truth.
Oya is an Orishas of honor and integrity.
Thank you for sharing another story version of her.
PEACE LOVE HEALING
I’ve been looking for a more in-depth breakdown of the Orishas, namely OGUN after 1804:The war in Haiti. Awesome! Glad I found this channel.
❤❤❤
I really feel Oya I feel at peace during raging storms and the sound of fierce winds
I love to hear and see conversation between children of the diaspora, the connection to home, and the want for understanding.
Same, just came from listening about Haitian voudoo
Blessings and love I am a child of Oya💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾

Last night I dreamed of tornadoes, tornadoes all over the place and around me but not hitting me. Then somewhere in the dream I heard the name Oya. I know she represents change.
These videos are EVERYTHING. Yes I was brought here by Beyoncé, but I stayed for the info. I'm looking forward to more on the male ditties. Love and light😘

I'm so grateful that I found your page because a lot of these "mythology" pages have little to no information on African gods it's so annoying
First off
Your skin your teeth your make up like girl all of it your are gorgeous
Wow , so he like the an OG hanged man.
I appreciate the sharing of the stories. Thank you.❤
I have been looking for these stories for a while ever since I learned more about my African Ancestry. Thank you so so so so so much :)
Omg yes finally; you know how hard it is to find TH-cam channels for brothas and sistas practicing the craft.
This story resonates with me..The daughter of Oya sounds just like me! I'm an Aries, so that fire is there. I've never heard this story though
Girl I'm an Aries too, but I have a nurturing side like Yemaya. Yet I can resonate so much of myself in Oya too.
Sounds alot like Scorps too.
I'm so glad I found this channel❤️❤️
I’m an Aries too!!
@@ronaldnixon7165 Thats exactly what I was thinking.
Listening to this, I can finally say where my Strong Energy came from. Oya!!!!
I am so glad youtube brought me here you are so lovely!
Can I just express how much I APPRECIATE you taking your time to share your knowledge. A lot of love from Belgium
I love how Oya owns her masculinity when it’s time to
WE WANT MORE VIDEOS GIRLLLL!!!!! It is like bedtime stories I cannot get enough of!
So glad I found your channel on my journey to understanding the Orishas... excellent breakdown
I'm so happy to find this! I'm a fire sign, but i love rain. My temper blows up with no control so i just have to wait it out. This makes so much sense. I am the daughter of Oya ☺.
I love how you tell these stories with some humor.. This helped me understand my religion. Keep up the good work.
I like her 🌪️... She's not afraid to take what she wants... I am easily irritated 🤣
Gemini Gang 🥰 love the necklace and video
I really enjoyed learning about her. It’s funny Shango is my ex husband’s middle name. He always said he hated it. We knew it meant the god of thunder, but not the story behind him. It’s definitely fitting because he was always up in other females faces hence why I divorced him.😂😂
😂
Omg🤦🏿♀️😖

I love listening to you! You really bring these stories to life. Much Gratitude 🙏🏽💜
Zero to 100 is right ... I’ve seen it for myself. Maferefun Oya!

I absolutely love how you teach us! So clear and easy to follow. ✨🖤

This is the best video I've ever seen on Oya. Thank you for putting it out here for us.
Thank you 🧜🏾♀️💙
Yes I agree
Thanks for introducing our ancestors. I needed this video. my bong broke after I made a tantrum, and a thunderstorm passed by after that. … I’m guessing the gods are asking me to connect and recognize my anger, and how we can break and destroy at will, just because we have emotions. Real power comes from auto control! Beautiful ancestral knowledge!!
So this is where Shakespeare got his play ideas from🧐🤓
Yes!!!! I haven't had an issue yet with crafting money. I recently opened a boutique store front. Design logos, online businesses courses. Oya its deep with in me!
Watching This and yes Florida is so bipolar it’s about to rain now as I’m watching this ❤️
As an African storytelling is our culture im so happy nothing can break us…nor truly truly separate us

My Santero told me that Chango is the equivalent of Zeus and Oya is like Hera.I was
Iike, "Oh Gotcha"! Great story, I love it. I will make sure to teach my children these stories. Beautiful art too. During a Hurricane Oya is the Hype Chic! 😂

It’s not chango it’s sango
@@junielorfils8450 My Santero gave me that Spelling. Shango, Sango, Chango, and Xangô are all Latin American Spellings, so you stick with your spelling and I'll stick with mine. He always helps me no matter what.
Omg so I’m not very familiar with Orishas but I’d randomly sing her name while in my room or doing chores... so grateful to have your video find me 🖤
When I got my test bacc saying I’m Igbo from Nigeria, I watched a few similar videos. When oya name was said thunder hit and rain wasn’t in the forecast. I took that as a sign, your video was more entertaining than others st8 to the point and simplified. I enjoyed it peace and blessings to you.
In my life she represents the fact that change hurts but is necessary.
I love your, Orisha stories and your crystals. Sending you blessings, love, & light. Thank you

My cousin is for sure she went to arguing with her husband and they drove to my house with it. Meanwhile I am watching the sun so beautiful in the sky, they pull up going at it and I look up a dark cloud cane from no where and it went to storming. I looked at her and told her you formed this storm

This is awesome tribute to my mama Oma Oya ! Yes the stories I've learned growing up we're a bit different, however your delivery is awesome Sister Queen. Continue to learn and teach. Thank You fir sharing your gift with us.
This is amazing I believe the ancestors led my father to name me TaquOYA! I most definitely have swift changes in my mood and I use to wear RED EVERY DAY! This story is amazing! It resonates with my life. Thank you for the video
I FEEL A CHILL IN MY BODY GREAT STORY 💕.
ancestral calling brought me here. The cross was never part of our spirituality but if that's what makes you feel close to here than so be it. Respect given, respect received.
I realize with the Orishas every thing they went through lead them to there super power it’s like they knew subconsciously already. It feels so relatable

You told the story of one of three stories bless up keep up the beautiful work ❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
I am a child of Oya - which is surprising considering I'm a gay Polish Buddhist . . . I'm not aggressive - I do not have to be, I'm assertive, I don't start fights - I finish them. My words destroy people before my fists do.
