I wanted to warn anyone watching this video going forward that driving yourself is no longer an option. You now cannot park outside the palaces (only in the town centre) and only Uber, taxis, tuktuk and buses are allowed to drive on the roads to reach them as well.
Thank you so much for this comment! I came to this video wondering if it was an okay drive (ie. not like driving on the Amalfi Coast or up the windy roads on Madeira 😅).
Can you get a bus or other transfer from Pena to Castelo dos Mouros? If we did choose to walk is it a difficult walk? Thinking of saving time if possible and saving my knees too. We are taking the train, so won’t have to park at Pena like you did. Thanks!
Bus 434 The walk is supposed to be like an hour, not because it's long, but because there's a lot of steeps If you have a group, just call an Uber so you don't have to queue and wait for the second or third bus
Sorry we missed this somehow! I believe you can take a bus or tuktuk to the gate, but there is some hiking involved regardless for the Moorish Castle. Hope that helps☺️
@madetoexplore how much time do you think is reasonable at each? Just want to see the sights, take some photos and move on. Was thinking about this order in one day in May when everything is open till 7pm: Peña Palace (11 am - 1 pm) -> Castle of Moros (1:30 pm - 2:30 pm) -> Quinta De Regalera (2:30 - 5 pm) -> Monserrat (5:30 pm - 7 pm close). Then head to Cabo de Roca for sunset at 8:40 ish
Hello! I hope you will reply :) Did you have to wait to get into Quinta da Regaleira? Do you think I should buy a fast pass so that I dont have to wait? it is 20 Euro instead of 11 Euro.
Thanks for watching! Which castle are you most excited about visiting?!👇
Nice video tour, we are excited to visit Portugal in April!
Thank you! Have a great trip

Hey there! I would say that’s probably worth it, especially in peak season☺️
Thank you 😊
I would skip the Monserrate Palace, if you had to choose 3.
Thanks for providing your opinion
Awesome! We visited Sintra in 2025 and have some important tips to share: th-cam.com/video/SuN_a_mqDJc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fK1x0Uj1NlpDLhkl
