This was great Prim! I love 80’s music, so this was super interesting to find out what the most popular albums were 💿 Videos like this are some of my favs, and it would really cool if you made a 70’s and 90’s version as well 🤩
_Love_ by The Cult is one of my favorite all-time albums that came out in the 80's. I don't think it made the best selling 100 list but it should make the all-time 100 list of greatness !
Now seeing all those albums covers and songs I have to agree the 80s was the best decade in music their were so many great songs like every year in that time I highly enjoyed the page turning and information about different music artist brings me back when you did that awesome album series years ago thank you prim for this amazing relaxing masterpiece 🎞🌙🎬✨😎✨🦋🎼🎤🎧🎟🦋🌙🎬✨🎧🎤💙🌸🌙✨🎧🎼🦋✨🎬🎞🦋✨🌸🎼🎤✨💛💙✨💛🌙
Hey Prim I bought the book of the best movies from the 80s because of your video and I love it. Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum are some of my fav albums.
Awesome video, well done. I think this goes well with the 80's movies book you read about a year ago. Also, Glass Houses by Billy Joel is probably my favorite album ever. Billy Joel is very underrated
hey Asia debut album made the top 100, I love that band. Human Racing or The Riddle from Nik Kershaw would probably be outside that top 100 but not by much those two albums are pretty solid for an 1980s synth pop release
Hey Prim, I'm happy to hear you enjoy Huey Lewis and the News. Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.
Thank you for doing these ASMR videos. They're very relaxing. It was also very nice to think about all those great albums from the 1980s. It just got me wondering why there were many albums missing. I just couldn't help it. I was sure it would've had at least a Duran Duran album there but I was wrong. I'll write something more about that next... It almost seemed that this book concentrated on albums, which were only made by certain record companies or appeared on a very specific album list. For example, John Cougar Mellencamp is great but did he really sell that many albums? I'm very sure that the book was made in the US and that's why there were some albums missing that were huge in Europe. I live in Finland and I have a different view on those times. What's also interesting is that back then there were many bands and artists that were bigger in Europe even though they came from the US. There were some confusion about the names of the albums. I have to mention a couple of them, which have a nice play of words. There was the Quiet Riot album "Metal Health" (and not "mental health") and the Beastie Boys album, which was "Licensed to ill" of course (and not licensed to 3). There was actually a great album called "License to Kill" by a band called "Malice" released at the time. The band was from the US but was more well known in Europe like many other metal bands. That album is a real forgotten gem of traditional 1980s hard rock & heavy metal. These are some of the albums that came out in the 1980s but were probably much bigger in Europe. I think these albums sold very well but they're just off the top of my head. I'll write a few comments about them as well: ABC - The Lexicon of Love (1982) - A fantastic album. "The Look of Love" was constantly played on the radio. My favorite songs are "All of My Heart" and "4 Ever 2 Gether". Duran Duran - Rio (1982) - My first favorite band and album. Most of you know how important this album was back in the 1980s. Duran Duran - Seven and the Ragged Tiger (1983) - Both of these Duran Duran albums must've sold like hot cakes in the US as well. Kajagoogoo - White Feathers (1983) - Contains their big hit "Too Shy". The bassist Nick Beggs is a masterful Chapman Stick player. Limahl is also the singer on "Never Ending Story". Ultravox - Vienna (1980) - Many of you might be at least familiar with the title track. Depeche Mode - Some Great Reward (1984) - A fantastic album with a couple of big hits like "People Are People" and "Master and Servant" Judas Priest - Turbo (1986) - I prefer their earlier albums but this is probably the most commercially successful album by this pioneering metal band with some very good and catchy songs. Alice Cooper - Trash (1989) - It's good, but I definitely prefer his 1970s music and also "Raise Your Fist and Yell", which came right before this one and was a metal album. Yes - 90125 (1983) - Includes their massive hit "Owner of a Lonely Heart". This is a great album but it's a real departure from their masterful prog rock of the 1970s, like "Close to the Edge". Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Welcome to the Pleasuredome (1984) - "Relax", "Two Tribes", "The Power of Love"... Trevor Horn produced this one just like the albums by Yes and ABC. Mr. Mister - Welcome to the Real World (1985) - "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie" were big hits. Alphaville - Forever Young (1984) - This sold incredibly well in Europe. The first hit was the song "Big in Japan". The title track is such a timeless classic. I think the whole album is amazing. Here's a few more... Blondie - Autoamerican (1980) ABBA - Super Trouper (1980) ABBA - The Visitors (1981) ... and maybe a couple of Nik Kershaw albums. He had some big hits in Europe like "Wouldn't It Be Good", "I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and "The Riddle". Those singles probably sold much more than his albums. Kim Wilde also had some huge hits, which probably sold much more as singles. That was just a few of them and what I could think of at the moment. I'll leave it at that. I'm just very passionate about music... Well, why not? :-) Here's also a couple of words about the albums that were listed in the book. Some of them really caught my attention. There wasn't very much information about them in the video so I'll add a couple of more things here. I'll probably forgot something I wanted to say but here it goes: 19:20 - Enya - Watermark (1989) - The album has her big hit "Orinoco Flow" (Sail away, sail away, sail away...) and my favorite "Evening Falls...", which is a fantastic work of art. Some of you might know her from the beautiful song "May It Be" that was on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. 22:57 - Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night (1987) - "Little Lies" is a great song with very '80s sounds and arrangement. Christine McVie sings most of the song and she also wrote it. 23:26 - Tina Turner - Private Dancer (1984) - I remember the title track being a big hit here in Europe. The song was written by Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits. It's great that after many years she was finally successful with her solo albums. 31:34 - Metallica - Master of Puppets (1986) - A masterpiece of an album but the addition of both "...And Justice For All" and this one made me wonder... Metal (especially thrash metal) didn't sell that well in the US. Only after "The Black Album" from 1991 the band started to sell a bucketload of records. This list seems a bit random. Master of Puppets has definitely sold a lot but most of it was after the 1980s when the band had gotten more widely known and popular with all kinds of people and not just by fans of the metal genre. I thought the book would only list albums that were actually sold a lot back in the 1980s. It almost seems they just wanted to include these Metallica albums to appear "more credible" but it had the opposite effect on me. One more thing... Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction (1987) - I'm not sure but was the original artwork soon replaced only in the US and on later CDs that also sold in Europe? The European vinyl releases might've always had the original cover. Well, I don't know very much about the band even though I really like them. This book only shows the replaced cover and not the original. It's quite odd that the book doesn't clearly state the band or the artist on the pages. It only mentions the name of the album in big letters. I just can't help but think that this was someone's selected list that left out some of the key albums. Only a couple of record companies were included or it was just a quick list without a great amount of research made before it. Well, it was still very interesting to me... I'm not sure if this was very interesting to a couple of you who actually read my comment though. :-) Most of you just came here to watch some excellent ASMR! I still needed to do it. So, congratulations if you read all of this. :-) There's a chance you found some great new music here. Take care and have a fantastic day.
Loved this video Prim!! Just some useful info here, or useless depending on how you look at it, but the song Easy was the title song on The Commodores album Easy Like a Sunday Morning🙂 Since Lionel Ritchie wrote the song while with The Commodores, he owns rights to it & thusly still sings it today as a solo artist🙂🙂
I was a DJ in college and owned many of those albums. Looking back, it's not even the music that made that time special... it was the time before social media, when the excitement of face to face interactions with people had not yet been replaced with instant gratification and electronic validation. Our birth rate has plummeted now, empowerment has replaced humility, and still we clinch our cell phones, waiting for the next app that will somehow bring lasting meaning to our lives and save the species. Good luck humans.
Boston (on their "Third Stage" tour) was my first rock concert--they played all of that album, and actually about 80-90% of their recorded songs up to that point! Those were the days.... :)
Hi, Prim and happy Wednesday!😊😊😊😊. I love the 80s book. My favorite is the "Miami Vice" soundtrack with Phil Collins, Glenn Frey and Jan Hammer.💙💙💙💙💙👍. Also, Madonna's song "Live To Tell". And...yeah. A+ for the 80s music book!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍. Enjoy it and feel the songs of pop music. Love you. Bye.😊😙💙💙💙💙💙💙💖💖💖💖💖😊⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Happy Wednesday Prim!! Nice to see your video!! I am enjoying this video for a Wednesday afternoon! ⭐️😊🙌 Absolutely love the ‘80s as well due to how much I love the music of that era! You are also looking very nice and hope everything is going well! 💙💙🙌🙌

Top 100 Albums of the 80’s? I have to watch this whole video! Just a reminding comment.
"Tattoo You" is a fine album, maybe the last great one the Stones made. "Waiting on a Friend" has such a relaxed vibe and "Heaven" is I think one of their best.
Prim, That looks like a colorful book on the best albums of the '80's. The '80's featured some of the best music from great artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Christopher Cross, Madonna was popular, Chicago still going strong as well as the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney still flying high. And Springsteen the Boss , Phil Collins, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel., Whitney Houston, and others. You have good taste in music. I have a similar book, but it's the best albums of the '60's. My favorite is from the '60's. The '80's produced great music. I like the sound of the pages turning. I love the incredibly soft sound of your whispering voice. Your voice really calmed me.
The RollingStone album waiting on a friend if you heard it you would know it and more of the songs. I know you would. God Lionel Richie was hugh when I was growing up then Prince came and knocked it out of the park Purple Rain.
Wow an 80's top 💯 album special! What a great decade with the best music 🎶by far, so many of the songs you named out I actually love to listen to lol, I must say your audio quality on this video is exceptional your voice is giving me serious Tingles 😴 & the page turning is really crisp & clear, hope your having a great week so far, thanks so much 🙏for posting this awesome video Prim! 🦋🌼⚘🌷💟💛🌻🐼🌸
I really enjoyed your video about the most popular movies of the '80's, and now you are taking us through a fun tour of the top 100 albums of the '80's! Also, page turning sounds are the best! :) Thank you, Primie!
I better find def leppards pyromania and Hysteria in there lol. Next to Michael Jackson, def leppard was the only other act to have had two consecutive selling 10+ million albums that decade. 🤟
All the albums that came out back then laid the ground work for the future of all albums that fallowed in every genre today’s music wouldn’t be as good if the artist didn’t make those albums to inspire the artists now and for them to take note of some songs even sampled some 80s songs from a lot of those albums
Prim and 80's music: name a more iconic duo! I'll wait!
Prim and video games?
thst 80s thing bring me to their Channel😁👍🤘🏴☠️
Prim and the 80s?

How did you do italics? I knew it years ago and I’ve never been able to do it since. I thought it was _underscores_ but those don’t work
Omg I just solved my own question!🥴😅 Why didn’t it work all the other times I’ve tried?😩😭🙈
@@Syclone0044 Glad I could help lol
She sells sanctuary is one of my favourite all time songs.
I might be a bit biased because I grew up 🆙 n the 80’s and 90’s, but I love that you love the 80’s era! You have wonderful taste in music!
when some of them are so famous you can hear them in your head just by hearing their name read out lol
Because we played them over and over in our bedrooms, back yards, barbecues, weddings, graduations and so much more.
The absolutely perfect book for your channel.
Loved this!
I've been wanting a page flipping/turning video for awhile and the fact it was about 80s music was a nice bonus.
So happy you liked this one! Page turning is one of my favs too! 😊

I better find def leppards pyromania and Hysteria in there lol. Next to Michael Jackson, def leppard was the only other act to have had two consecutive selling 10+ million albums that decade. 🤟

I wonder which album is #1. It's Thriller. Thriller is #1.
The first & only VHS cassette I bought was the making of Thriller video! So cool.
For me, def leppards Hysteria was the best album of the 80s. Again, only my opinion ofcourse. 👍

80s vibes..
All the albums that came out back then laid the ground work for the future of all albums that fallowed in every genre today’s music wouldn’t be as good if the artist didn’t make those albums to inspire the artists now and for them to take note of some songs even sampled some 80s songs from a lot of those albums
Never been that early
