I was just there today. I was very disappointed. They didn’t have much selection of anything and it was about dead. The restrooms were filthy! I’m guessing it’ll be closing soon.
Really? Looks like they have a nice variety of places to shop to me. The big stores are just outside of The Villages like Target and Walmart Supercenter, etc..
Even though Fast Eddie gets most of the blame the company planted the seeds of its own demise with the "Softer Side of Sears" campaign of the early 1990's. While Sears had always sold clothing its strength had long been in so-called hardlines: tools, appliances, automotive supplies, electronics, sporting goods, and furnishings, among others. It had a dominant market position and excellent reputation in many of these areas. Increasing competition started to diminish Sears's dominance in some hardlines starting in the late 1980's and early 1990's. For instance, while its line of Craftsman tools was among the best on the market more and more people turned to Home Depot and Lowe's for their hardware needs. Instead of concentrating on the company's strengths, its leadership figured that because there was a huge market and high markups in clothing, especially women's clothing, well that's where Sears should focus its efforts. What they did not or would not realize is that while indeed there was an enormous market for women's clothing, there also was an enormous amount of competition. To make matters worse, Sears's rather stogy image would not go over well in such a fashion and trend conscious field. Sears never recovered from the Softer Side of Sears fiasco. It did not become a major force in women's clothing retailing and its traditional hardlines withered.
This sick store has very few people in it. Most of them at least are window shoppers. With areas emptied out, liquidations are upcoming. In the USA as of June 19, 2021, there are now 44 non-liquidating Sears and Kmart 1.0 stores combined. From the current videos of these stores, nothing looks pleasant nor relevant anymore.
Unfortunately Sears and Kmart are really running out of time, wouldn't be surprised if the whole company which has about 50 stores left (sad) seizes operations by the summer. Eddie Fartfert will probably sell the online portion to someone and that's how Sears and Kmart will live on probably, online only.
@@OrlandoStreets 28 Sears and 21 Kmarts will be left after all the closures. There was just an announcement that 3 more Kmarts and 1 Sears store will be closing soon, so that's where I'm getting my count of approximately 50 stores, 49 technically.
They're going quick! I used to get my tires, car batteries and tools at Sears years ago. My store was the one at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. Home Depot and Walmart replaced Sears long ago. To be honest I'm surprised they're are still around at all.
People complain about the color of the walls, the floor and the display racks. They say they aren't modern enough but why is that a big deal? How many ways can you display merchandise? I don't see Walmart change its look. I care about good merchandise, prices and service not the interior decoration. This place looks much nicer than Walmart with its cheap junk.
Store seems to barely have anything. It looks just like the Kmart where I live ( barely anything on the shelves) They even placing unnecessary items to fill empty gaps what a waste
Which designer ever thought that drab brown walls and a hideous brown carpet would be a welcoming feature.. this just shouts bland bland bland...all that excess space and someone puts racks in the walkways ....
Nice to see an operating Sears ! The one closest to me in Houston is now a large concrete slab.
Just 57 left including 21 closing permanently soon.
@@OrlandoStreets My High School best friend worked at the Altamonte Springs Sears for 15 years. It was one of those jobs that nobody ever leaves.
The one near me is just a spirit Halloween every year 🥲
Looks a decent store nicely spaced out , its huge.Great share bud 🙂👍
I hope you are ok. We are missing you and your videos. Please keep us posted. A big hug from your friends from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🤗
Thanks, you're so kind. I'm need to start up again soon.
i been down here before i go there all the time more stores, i buy my largest size clothes, shorts, and pants nice trip.
wonder if they are clearing space by tools for the summer pool toys and chairs and ext
I think they are just clearing as much stock as they can at this point. The end seems inevitable.
As of this week, this Sears has closed off the back half of its second floor (seen at 9:37). They've moved the mattresses downstairs.
The end is near. 😕
good thing the Orlando Sears location has a fully stocked rack of Minnesota Vikings bags.
Maybe that's the problem?
I was just there today. I was very disappointed. They didn’t have much selection of anything and it was about dead. The restrooms were filthy! I’m guessing it’ll be closing soon.
We were there last weekend and the restrooms were clean. I think that Sears is closing later this week, but I'm not 100%.
I miss Orlando :(
I am surprise there are still people shopping. The store looks like it is stuck in time.

Oh my God I miss Sears!
Looks like the battery section was completely empty.
Not many shoppers sears has change so much😔is this the location the little boy was abducted from in 1981 ??
That was in Miami.
Excellent video as always !
I think this is the last year of this store !
Try now to film some auto parts, O'Reilly, Pep Boys, Autozone ,Discount etc👍
Yeah that's a good idea, thanks!
They could take everything downstairs and just close off the second floor.
They are not getting new products on just selling what they have.
Great video
They're open?

When we come to florida from England we go in regularly..
Better hurry back. There's no telling how much longer they can stay open.

Guess what…the newer generation won’t shop there and that is the reason for its decline
if you can, show Macys too
I can't believe they are still open...
It's hard to say how much longer they will be open.
Those clothes have been there since 2010.
What did you use to record this video? It's so stable I'm suprise
Gopro8 on a stroller.
@@OrlandoStreets oh okay 😂
@@tricountyretail992 I don't purposely hide the camera but it may be more difficult to see. I mount it on the top handle.
the tool section has shrinked majorly
Might go into liquidation soon
Soon this one will close and your town will have a much better retail experience . This sings 1970s
so sad that sears have to go! round1 will come to life asap
Better hurry.
So odd of a place to put a table of levis
bruh every place I've been to in Orlando you also been there
I went there about 2 weeks ago and It´s smells pretty gross like wet carpet

By 2022 I believe Sears will closed all rest of there 17 locations.
It's down to 17 now? Wow.
Lots of open floor space unfortunately.

Looks pretty dead, though it is an excellent Sears store. I used to go to it often.
Merritt Island is still open but closing soon.
@@OrlandoStreets Such a shame to see the last ones closing up. Sears, as a chain, has such a long history that goes back over a hundred years. ☹
The hired me offered $9 hr they said is the highest pay rate they have 😂 probably be closed in yr or 2
Buc-ees is paying $22/hr.
