Definitely an old recipe! I remember this dish well, as we had it many times. And I remember also having the TV dinner version, and also the turkey ones!!! This definitely brings back the memories, Tom!😋😋😋
Kevin, I remember begging my mom in the supermarket about getting the TV dinners. lol, I also remember the strap in her pocketbook. lol. Thanks for watching Kevin.
Rob, thanks for watching, I remember begging my mom to get the TV Dinner, she did, and it sucked. lol but you had to eat everything on your plate because there were children in China starving or risk getting an ass whooping !! lol. Never asked for it again, Thanks bubby for watching!
🌞 Wow!! The Salisbury Steak is over a hundred years old!! It's been a while for me but, I did enjoy a good Swanson's TV dinner as a kid lol this one was always a favorite! Thanks Tom for reminding me... This recipe is something I'd like to try to recreate...I'm Loving this series of Forgotten Foods! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I remember growing up in the UK in the 60's and my mum would make this. She would tell us we were having a treat tonight. I don't think I ever tasted a steak until I was much older and we had moved to New Zealand. That cauliflower is an excellent alternative to the carb heavy potatoes. Thanks for sharing Tom.
Lol, my mom would say the same! Lol. I'm a type II diabetic so I have to watch what I eat a lot of the time. Thank you John for watching,I appreciate it..
It was definitely a fantastic cook, and the origin of this was interesting! This was my go-to TV dinner next was turkey 😂😂. You definitely did this favorite justice, especially adding the mushrooms!!. I can't wait until the next installment. Hope you and Marie have a wonderful Sunday and upcoming week! Cheers brother 🍷🍷
I LOVE Salisbury steak, I make a version of this when it gets cold outside. It's some amazing comfort food. Yours looks delicious, Tom! Loved all the history behind the dish!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Tom!! This Salisbury steak looks phenomenal! I definitely remember them in the TV dinners. So I think I learned something new… Hamburger meat with the other ingredients blended in a food processor makes it tighter and doesn’t fall apart in the pan. I would like to have some roasted potatoes with this personally. I think I know what’s on the menu for this coming weekend. Hope you all have a great week.
Roasted potatoes is my go-to also but I didn`t have any on hand. BTW Brian, I watched your music video the other night, I didn`t comment because it was late and forgot the next day. I really like it. don`t stop.
