I just bought this exact van from the gentleman who imported it. It was happenstance that I came upon the video before buying it, but it was very fortunate because I was able to see all the rust spots in the video that the seller had repaired but not disclosed! So thank you PCA, it's now up in frosty Fairbanks, Alaska. Already had a camping trip in it, and now to find the electrical problem with the dome lights and radio. The A/C compressor clutch is also not engaging, so that's going to be looked into as well. New brakes and ball joints are on order, and the previous owner put new tires on it.

I'm probably one of the few that actually prefer this gen (style wise) over the previous gen the l300

I definitely prefer the l300, but would rather get a l400 cause it's so much safer.

Soft-touch closers are such a fun 70s/80s car feature.

Just FYI - you can clean that overflow container using simple green and an ultrasonic cleaner. Or you could use simple green and a lot of manual shaking. The trick is removing it and keeping the hose connection plugged if you manually shake it.

how cool it was in the late 90s and early 00s , when such cars were popular with us in Russia , they were brought from Japan almost for nothing , but then our authorities demolished the tower from greed , and now it is impossible to bring a car older than 2007 , and if you want to bring a 2007 car , then be prepared that its final price will probably be 10 times higher than the purchase price of this car in Japan

In Europe I can import a 70k Mclaren, but after taxes it's 200k.

Nice vehicle!!! But, I have a question. Does these L400 share parts with Montero/Pajero/Shogun? I have to change front axles in mine.
