  • This is my first PRS, and I've only heard good things about the PRS DGT... But does it live up to its hype? In this video, I go over my thoughts on using it exclusively for 6 months. The things I like, and don't like.

It’s a brilliant guitar. It’s the only guitar I use live now, pretty much does everything. I never liked a large neck or lower output pickups…. Until now.

The treble bleed prevents high frequencies from being dumped to ground so quickly as you turn down volume. Usually your highs are the first to go. This gives the impression that volume is rolling off slower as it feels / sounds more uniform if that makes sense

I got one and I prefer it over my Gibsons which were double the price, I love mine. Great video.

Thanks, man! I can’t think of another guitar on the market where you get this much guitar for the price

The split is wired so you only lose 25%, the inner coil stays in full, rather than a ground wire to send the outer coil to ground is replaced with a resistor so only 50% of that coil goes to ground. To my ears that retains more fatness than Fender single coils, and it's almost like a P90? Rolling down the volume in split mode to around 7 with the treble bleed kicking in, then to my ears it starts to sound a bit more Fender style single coil but not completely. Live I reckon it's great and for the first time in many many years I've taken just one guitar to a gig.

To answer your thumbnail - it could almost be perfect for me - love mine, would recommend to anyone. Possibly my easiest playing guitar of all my guitars. The split works great, pickups sound great, trem is excellent and love the dual volumes and treble bleeds (so versatile) and very very resonant. All i am playing currently (also have USA strats and LPs). Even david grissom uses his out on tour. my DGT SE is so much better than my CU24 SE. They seem to have put some real effort into the DGT SE..
