No architectural drawings no safety equipment just digging in the dirt with small tools for five months. Everything you need free from nature! Absolutely unbelievable these guys are fantastic! If I ever move to the bush I'm cutting these guys a check for 25 Grand to make me a contemporary house!

Everything you need is right outside. Imagine one of these with a kitchen and such. I don't think id ever leave. Who needs internet or tv. Just the great outdoors and a good book.

They rely on the stability of a wide footprint.. the soil does pack well, but I should think a few angled bamboo poles would provide even better stability. The arch at the front makes a big difference as you can see the back wobble from side to side whilst the front is much more stable. Bamboo is an amazing natural resource and so quickly replenishes.

I agree; I would like to see the inside of the house finished like the outside. Sure, it's twice the work to finish the inside walls too. But the inside of the house is where you spend your time sheltering from the elements; why not make it beautiful?

Start by baking limestone until it's pure white. At this point, all the carbon is baked out of it. Put it in a vat of water. The stones will react with the water and break down into a white powder called lime. Mix this substance with powdered charcoal, volcanic or wood ash, sand, gravel and sea water. Shape the mixture in the form you want it and let dry. It'll be harder than stone when it dries.
They build simply beautiful constructions. Do they plant trees back in areas they take them from? The area they’re working from doesn’t look to have much greenery left.

Its nothing like the American wood industry that comes in and wipes out thousands of acres of 500 year old trees wiping out whole exo systems. This is a bit different. And like I said there tree of choice is bamboo which can use some control

Where can I get those tools from, they seem sharper than mines.
They are Cambodian farmer's tools. I do not know the name of the hoe like one, but the long blade knife is a parang, you can google them.
