Oh man the sound here is PHENOMENAL! The drums are super clear. The piano .. The guitar... Never get tired of seeing and hearing that Suhr. Cute cat! I have 3 spoiled cats. Thanks for sharing, Jim!
I haven’t seen your cats yet, I’m sure they’re roaming around while you play music, I know that mine tend to camp nearby when music is being played. This particular patch is my stereo patch built to compare with the mono Marshall patches. Since the mono Marshall’s sounded so good, full and well rounded I spent a while with this stereo patch trying to get to get it to sound as worthy. Something about a hard panned stereo track is not as robust as mono. It hasn’t been EQ’d for bottom end, this is the natural amp/speaker sound. Because there is some noise and hum from the Marshall amps, I wanted to work on this alternate. It sounds more robust on the left side, which is typical for stereo tracks. One is always better than the other. I could have worked that out, but I’m OK if it leans to one side. Drums are always a discovery process, as certain kits pair well with certain grooves. Singer-Songwriter is always mixed to taste, so results are random. And when it works, it works well. I’m not a drummer mind you! 😜 Thanks for stopping by Chad, thanks for the encouraging words. ☮️❤️😊
One of my lead guitar tones, using the ADA MP1 preamp from the 80s because it has nice over tones and goes into feedback easily. Especially with a semi hollow guitar. Keep rocking Senn. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh yes! We have a new litter of 9 babies, and with the summer heat in full force Kerr keeps them inside for the hottest part of the day, their sleepy time. Mornings and Evenings are their romp times, they all love to play in the dirt and root for snacks. My little wire cutter, strangely does not do it every day. He goes through phases. In hindsight, everything is repairable. So it’s an opportunity to teach him. But he is an incredible athlete and amazing jumper, compared to his larger siblings. We can’t fence him, he bounces right over. She sometimes has to throw a sheet overtop, a ceiling. But not necessary if he’s supervised, he just digs. I have video of him digging, it’s so funny. And the babies just adorable. 🫶 Thank you kindly, it means the world to me. ❤️
Bravo young man Bravo, Nice catchy little tune, I finally solved my issue with having to plug in every piece of my equipment one at a time, unplug it and plug in the next one set it up and so forth 😆, I broke down and bought a Mackie Onyx 24 mixer, now I can get to making music again the way I need to. Awesome balance on the tune, everything was crystal clear. 👍
Agreed, the Onyx are known for their quality preamps, and the mixer format is such a comfortable and tactile experience. So you don’t have to depend so much on the computer as mandatory requirement. There’s more preamps than most people would need, could track an entire band. 😊 It was recommended to me years back, but I went my own direction to save space, desktop space. In the beginning I didn’t even have a desk, so I was using makeshift table space with guitar cases! 😜 Nor did I understand the need for a handful of decent preamps. Nor EQ, or possible use for compression. I’m sure it will serve you well, always admired your music. One of the few examples of what it SHOULD sound like. I really look forward to it! 💪😊 And thank you for the kind words, developing an ear for clean and natural (real) sounds. 🙏
@@jimshomestudio I'll put up a pic. of what I'm doing in my next video at the beginning of the video (snapshot of my new setup) I find your music to be an inspiration for a lot of what I do, keep up the good work, You've come a long way since I first started following you. (Edit) Love the bunnies btw.
I find it difficult to track several takes and then listen back to find the one I prefer, because sifting through takes time and shows me what I don’t like about my playing. If it’s a speed run or scale, while I would like to demonstrate some of that, it’s the melody line that usually wins. So I’ll try to find a melody line first, and that way if I have a few takes I’m usually looking for the best melody line. Hoping a listener will find memorable, or sing-able. There are some amazing players out there, hard to impress listeners with a guitar. So the song can take priority. I think of Tim Pierce often, he has some great ideas, but I play differently. What I take away is his energy, it has an ear appeal I like. Of course his setup is quite nice too. That probably inspires him as well.
I usually will develop melodies on the piano and then transpose them to the guitar. If I try to map them out on the guitar I tend to over play. I record multiple tracks until I find something my ear likes then develop that. The problem is after a while I get so sick of listening to it that I tend to release music before it's ready just to be done with it. I'm a little dry on inspiration atm. Have something in the oven but figuring out the arrangement is befuddling me.
@@Troutflies71 I’m sure it will be outstanding. Your videos are always HQ too, meaningful. I’ll see it when you’re ready. Summer is usually my quiet time, it’s related to the high heat. When it’s cold outside you can run the room warm with gear, not so much fun in the summer. ☮️❤️😊
The older we get, the harder it becomes to see these very small wires. Soldering such small things, not to mention its 5 strands each offset from another. But it’s done. Realizing now I could have just disassembled the mouse and replaced the entire wire with your standard issue USB ended cable. Something tells me I’ll have that chance! Your music is a good example for all, the clarity. No noise in the most subtle parts, it’s you who I use as the example of pristine. What’s more the long journey, I remember Robert Clark taking us on this long suspended journey, heartfelt. How? I don’t know! Your music is just what I need right now, in the living room with surround sound. Talked to my Mom just now and extended hope to each other, I’m here for her and she’s there for me, we rescue each other. ❤️ Calm seas ahead! Thank you Colin! 🙏
@@jimshomestudio I know what you mean about eyesight Jim! I have a real hard time seeing to solder now, even though I have glasses. I used to spend many hours a day soldering when I used to work troubleshooting oscilloscopes back in the 80s. Now I have a hard time swapping pickups in a guitar. Having bad eyesight and partially arthritic fingers makes it really hard. Sometimes I think my music is too pristine and sterile sounding. Having added the hardware synths has definitely helped with that. I know what you mean about Rob and his guitar playing. I wish he was able to find the time to play and upload a lot more. I'm glad you and your Mom are there for each other. I'm just glad my Mom had the chance to come visit the US a half dozen or so times. I know it meant a lot to her as she hadn't ever traveled before then. I wish you calm seas and beautiful skies.

So beautiful and wonderful performance!👍👍👍
Always appreciated Pacsun! 👍
That sounds amazing! Love to all the fur babies, even the wire cutting ones 😂❤

Love the lead tone. The simplicity is so much more. Letting the guitar breath and not overplaying is something I struggle with.

This sounds freaking awesome Jim! I wish I could get my music to sound as good as that.
I hope you manage to avoid more wire nibbling in the future.
