I've been playing for 30 years..just a "pick and strum" player. Absolutely love your style and sound. Where would you recommend for "an old dog" to start learning finger picking?
Good question - I think the best way to get into modern fingerstyle is to get some non-percussive tunes under your fingers that explore the basics of fingerstyle guitar. Think Michael Hedges. From there, I'd start to explore some of the intermediate percussive techniques like I use in this video - the thumb slap/snare, left hand tapping. I spent tons of time learning from just watching videos and doing everything I could to capture riffs, not even full tunes. Hope that helps!

My first guitar was a Seagull S6 that I still have! It wasn’t crazy expensive but it certainly wasn’t a bad instrument either.
