thanks for this video/gracias por este video
I’m 58 years old and in love with this session and the whole vibe.
Dad, why my sister's name is Rose?
-Cuz your mother loves roses, son
-Aahh, thanks, dad
-You're welcome, Connan Mockasin live @ Sundae Sessions (Full Concert)
Hahahaha
i wish they’d record this concert on 180g....
Jajajajaja 😂👏
i laugh thinking about this every time I watch this show.. so daily
Lolll
This is one of those performances that I keep returning to
Conan's pure chill, the freakiest guitar tone I've heard, this sick drummer, Mac playing an egg in the background, nice audience chemistry... best session like by anyone ever lmao
I read an article about him recently after having listened to him for a little over a year, and they described his riffs as "spindley" and I couldn't agree more! I love it
@@henrystewart3882 would you care to share the article? thanksss
@@henrystewart3882 thank
Have you seen their Glastonbury Show...WOW
I love his guitar work. Those bends!
i wont lie i think this is my favourite session by anyone ever
This is sheer liquid wonderment
magical
Sneakers in the Dryer which one? link? :)
lit
You also need to listen to Parcels Vol.1 ;)
this version of forever dolphin love is magical
So, are we just not gonna talk about how Mac DeMarco is casually dressed as Connan Mockasin in the background playing an egg!!?
lmao holy shit he actualy is
Too good
It's funny to see him in the background not talking.
!!! Haha, I knew there was a reason I loved Connan so much - we've got Mac in common. What a legend
Weird, right? He did come to NZ for Laneway Festival in January of 2015, and had a few solo shows afterwards, but this was filmed in April of 2015... Must have had some spare time!
I often revisit this over the years, just perfect!
Same man, I've been coming here for years. Wish Conan recorded more live sessions, so much better than his studio stuff. One of one
Super same, this gig is just what every musician dreams of
Same, every couple months or so i come watch this. It’s goddamn delicious
Back again!
This was the only thing that gave me peace and kept me sane in the worst moment of my life. I really wish I can see them live someday.
this version of forever dolphin love makes me feel lots of things
Hats of to the sound guy.Nice mix.
for real
Yeah that's Brett. Nice one Brett
yes so sweet!
definitely. this is called being a sound engineer! great session indeed
Actually i've never listened to this with studio monitors and the drums are not so well mixed, i found myself turning down the volume whenever the drummer went crazy (last part of forever dolphin love) I didnt do that in the calm parts, also you can hear a weird distortion in the beginning of i wanna roll with you, it fades away when all the instruments come together but i bet it sounded all the song...I guess Conan is a very weird musician so it must be difficult to keep him in a well balanced mix with all those messy guitar solos, besides that i fully enjoy this everytime i play it.
Absolutely brilliant we can hear myriads of marvelous sounds and voices, Mockasin at his best
Mockasin: I'm your master
Demorco: Yes
I really hope Demorco is the guitarist, because if so, this is the funniest comment ever
can we talk about the dripping TONE on that motherfukin guitar?!?! JESUS
im cumming
pitch shifter (7th) + vibrato?? too millenial
@@Rorrulo you are wrong
@@Rorrulo you damn wrong
20.25 min mark on his “live in the basement” video shows his pedals you are welcome!
I never get tired of this session, but I wish I could listen to it for the first time again
i am currently doing it and walking on clouds... 😍
Can’t even count how many times I’ve come back to this and watched it in its entirety
Same here. This is the mainly reason why I reposted this video
André Martins I am grateful for people like you haha. Heard he is releasing something new soon. Heard the single con con was impatient and it seems like he is progressing to different sound while keeping this style. Excited for this and the Prince tapes comin out
x3
Same here, mate
One of the only youtube videos i've downloaded for posterity. Been lucky enough to see him live twice in the last year or so. If you get the chance just do it.
fuck I've seen this like at least 20 times and counting, there's this flow, genuinity, a whole package that calms and grooves my soul down to the bone and beyond. hope to see them live in Slovenia one day
As a bass player i love how loud the bass is in this mix
Do you know what model that bass is?
@@guslee8610 It's a hagström kent! It's a swedish vintage bass, they come up once in a while on ebay :D
@@danielhall2956 Thank you Daniel! I always wanted to know how they achieved that sound.
The way it’s supposed to be.
i think it wouldve been better to cut a bit of the low frequencies out of the bass but still have it be as loud, its making the mix a bit too muddy for my liking
Man this whole performance is just insane... the setting, the chilled chat between songs, and oh the SOUND. Such a mesmerising performance it's difficult to listen without flicking back to the video and watching.
Almost forgot to watch this today.
The Burning Peppermints lol fr
I've been doing the same for the last 3 months haha, so fucking good. Every single morning on my way to work i need to play this
me too
same
i think starting this set with, " why are you crying?" and then ending it with the homage to "while my guitar gently weeps" is thematically brilliant
He seems way to chill on stage like he's not phased at all he's just like what's good baby
This performance is a new benchmark in sophistication - so many layers and yet so easy
Yes!!
Even more lawyers
Greatful for all these people here that share my weird taste in music. None of my friends get why I am in love with this. Feeling close to strangers all over the world thanks to music is just plain awesome.
I was seeing a girl and I sent this to her saying something like: "Don't think I'm weird, but I love this songs", and sent her Forever Dolphin Love.
She loved Connan since the first moment. We made 4 years together yesterday.
@@AnDreher_ I guess that is a quiet valid way to realize if you belong with someone :D
❤️
The pleasures of not following the herd
This music isn’t weird, the rest of the world is weird for not realizing how amazing it is
every single time i listen forever dolphin love i shed tears man that song really was sent from heaven. whole set is in a league of its own honestly. so mesmerizing
The song is about a real life love-story in the 70’s between a guy and his dolphin. He was a big time acid-head and used to dose his dolphin and eventually starting sleeping with his dolphin. Mr. Brenner a zoologist from Miami. I’m not joking either. Look man dolphin relationship on Google or type his name.
I wish this session was edited and uploaded to spotify GOD
I know you can convert this into a mp3 file and split audios per song and download them onto Spotify. I know it’s a lot of work but I think it’s worth it
@@SteveFrenchee yeah sure, but I don't have time for it :(
HD remastered video for them extra dolphins.
That snare sounds PHENOMENAL
Phenomenal indeed
@@UnderBridgeou yeah
Truths🔥
this is truly a masterpiece
It’s like they’re all communicating telepathically in their own musical language
YES!!
it's like they practice
@@pru3206 it’s them like actively talking about what they’re gonna do before certain songs that makes this very funny
@@videogajima haha def not their first rodeo
@@pru3206 its probably practice, but it looks and sounds so accidentally genuine as if they would be doing it this way for the first time.
They all tripping for sure. Crazy cool vibez
Connan has such a beautiful voice.
Yes-unique-smooth too.
why this is the best concert ever?
I started a soul crushing office job about a month ago after a few years of being a total burnout, anyway, revisiting this now, when I get back home after my shift with a few drinks is fucking bliss. It's like a decompression chamber. Thank you professor conan.
funny you should say that. i'm lying on my couch right now exhausted after an 11 hour day at work, watching this for the millionth time, with a beer.
i love 'why are you crying' so fucking much
hope you fellas are doing good today in life
How are you doing?
also having a tough time being a corporate slave, but this melts all my stress away.
No shame....At least you had those few years... this also reminds me of the big speakers in the warehouse in the days before work / life / age all the hard stuff.
I've watched/listened this many times now... and every time I find something new! ♥
The reef of Forever dolphin love is from out of this world
im in love with the drummer
you're not the only one
Im In love with the coco
Leonardo Ortiz I want to double like this comment
*"I Wanna Roll With You"*
standard tuning:
main theme chorus "roll with you"
G#m7 G#m7(add9) - F# F#(add9) - G#m7 G#m7(add9)
dreamin' part verses
E(add9) - F#(add9) - D#m7(add9) - E(add9)
Thanks for the chords!! ....not that hard.... they don't look that hard.......... perfect
Added to watch later in case I even need the feeling of melted butter in my ears again.
Please don't ever take this down. I watch it once a day.
underrated guitarist
This is the greatest thing I've ever heard
People write this under every youtube video. But in this occurence, it's true. This *is* the best thing i've ever heard
God I'm listening to this show every single day
The same over here, bro.
He's so sweet for having his dad play with them too
sound guy nailed the mix for real
Can't stop re watching that moment between Connan and Mac from 4:20-4:30.. pure gold
the drums on forever dolphin love - fucking outrageous
New Zealand music back to being original again.
blass you Mockasin.
Can you recommend others artists?
André Martins Unknown Mortal Orchestra!
@@AnDreher_ Marlon Williams
Not the same genre but The Enemy is a great new zealand punk band
@@AnDreher_ Try Trinity Roots!! They´re up there along with Connan as my favorite bands of the decade. Both from NZ. I gotta move there someday. Cheers from México!
Amazing performance, impressive quality and chemistry in the band.
I come back to that performance of Forever Dolphin Love so often, it's spectacular. That band is so tight
why is no one talking about connan's dad joining the band for the last song, i shed a tear
so did the guitar
Ade for prime minister
megumi lets me have tears in my eyes everytime i watch and feel-it’s so wonderful and beautiful in this version here with all that enjoyment and happiness you can see in everyone’s face!
What a fantastic concert.
the most beautiful vibes in the stratosphere
I've never seen anyone play electric guitar the way that Connan Mockasin does
superb
hey its mike demarki
Jamiro Smajic HA
LOL
hey its mark the marquis
it's Matt Defranco
Men DeAverage.
i'm still in love with a drummer
DID YOU SAY TULAAAA!
Siempre tiene que haber chilenos en todos lados jfjffj
Bass sound is candy for the ears.
This show is perfect
Nice bass sounds 🎉🎉🎉
I just left my body (1)
RustyScud Ya man! I think that every time haha.
Conan’s dad sings so beautifully.
"it's a thursday night, c'mon" is the most Connan Mockasin thing to say ever
I love that 31:20 moment when we see Connan deep in thought, with wind in his hair. As if he left for a while to take a break from entertaining the universe. And then he smiles slightly, he's back again. This is a masterpiece. YT asked me the other day why I liked this video, the algorithm must have spotted that I listen to it almost everyday...
I can’t stop coming back here man
and u are right doing it hahah
Not only good jams but throughout whole video, such a welcoming easy going-vibe to entire set. I envy the audience sooo bad
New Zealand seems like my type of weird
Me too
The place is horrendous, trust me.

Lewis Millar-Nelson i wanna hear more!
New Zealand churns out the greatest music. 🎻🙏❤
Connan, I love you.. thank you for all this lovely vibes
Can someone tell me how its possible that this band is so musically tight and yet so laid back and free? How long can they have been playing together? Is it a NZ thing? Im so impressed?!!
defs a NZ thing
True spiritualists? You know, try to have a full night playing or performing good music with your work mates... on LSD or DMT and you´ll get it. Bless the man and the whole band. The best of the decade for me, right there with Trinity Roots.
It’s all about the rhythm section brother. If those beautiful men are locked in as one. The guitars can float on top
Bass and drums!
Because they play music at a turtles pace.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was amazing!!
Underrated comment
RIP Sillip Heymour Poffman
Here eryday so magical love you Connan!!! 💖💖💖💖💖
This is my favorite thing I've ever seen Conan do
cannot even believe i get to live on the same planet as this person, as these people
I love how expressive his playing is, while still being melodic.
Nice
“Forever Dolphin Love” in this live version is so good it makes me feel so good, this is really my jam
Music is underrated as goddamn hell 😩I love connan
There never was a luckier rooftop
I have fallen in love with this music. The melodies and words are full of ethereal beauty. The minor chords are my favorite---you dont hear this in the average music today---which is so simple ---but Connan's music is more complex and spellbinding
I will singlehandedly get this video to 1 Million views by the end of 2021. Only about 21,000 to go.
I’m down for it
1m there we go
this session is absolutely stunnig!
love all of it, but absolutely love the soft sound of bass and drums, wow wish i was there
wtf I'm addicted to this! since days this is on repeat on the go, at work, on the toilet, no fucking matter where!
4:27 Mockasin being like : "Yo Mac ... I own this sound."
underrated comment
Fucking right though
mac has already admitted he borrowed mockasins sound
@@someonelse9 kinda, he said it inspired his work but to be honest I dont think they are all too similar. I could definitely see how mockasin inspired macs heavy whammy bar influenced playing and melodies but thats about it
the fact that mac loves connan makes me happy
Hard to choose which live is better between this one and Rockaplast, but I'm glad those two wonderful sets are available on youtube ! Such cool vibes in both
Check out the boiler room in studio set
probably best vid on the tube
i want to hiccup cry like this on someone’s song
Just today stumbled upon Connan & his weirdo musical-Genius.... not sure how it took this long but , better late than never. Also wondering how this guy’s awesome madness has never graced the stage out of all the crazy jamband music festivals I’ve been to!!
I love Connan so much find myself hella coming back to this, love u Connan hoping to one day meet you
Tonight has been wonderful, finding new music….Brilliant, Clever take on the blues, well played musicianship, all around ✨💕
He could lead a cult with those guitar rips
They dont make kool aid strong enough for this
At the first time this sounded weird. But after listening to this over 30 times in the last years, it just gets better and better the more times I listen to it.
Beautiful played. It's a happy change to hear the instruments used to make the music beautiful
take me back
Mac DeMockasin
had this video saved for about a year or two. crazy that it has over a million views. so happy that there’s people who share the same music taste as me :)
I’ll always come back to this video. It’s been over 5- 6 years since the discovery. I love this.
Love you Connan
man, i’ve yet to find another song that gives me the same feeling as “i’m the man that will find you” does
same, i won’t ever be able to get enough of it
This is something else. Forever dolphin love is a trip . Such an awesome artist. thankyou jam baxter for switching me onto Connan
I've found Connan Mockasin through King Krule's cover of "Forever Dolphin Love".
Got very suprised seeing Mac DeMarco hangging around with Connan, with the dresscode of "My Kinda of Women"...very funny!
Exact same thing happen to me!
Same! I listen to that cover daily.
same. . .
he opened for mac years ago in montreal
they're pretty good friends
