Watching stuff like this reminds me how awesome it is that there are so many TH-cam channels producing content with, in many cases, greater production value than a lot of actual TV shows. Cable is dead.
Quite sad isn't it? I promise if I ever own this car it'll never look this good. With me, the car will reek of racing fuel, be splattered in dead bugs and caked in brake dust. This is the equivalent of taking a wild animal and forcing it to be your pet that you dress up and never letting it out the house..
Tomanec no one said anything about being road legal? It belongs on a track, not being pampered and carted around to shows. I get it though, it's worth so much and you cannot replace it.
That would be sad....but thats not true. The following weekend it was in Spain racing. As much as everyone one may want to hate on the owner. He is a cool guy that drives, races, and enjoys his car.
AMMO NYC I'm not hating on the owner. Just saying the car is in a weird place because of it's insane value. It belongs on a track, vs caring about it's paint.... Then again if it's wrecked being repair, it's not like you can easily obtain another.
When I started watching this I didn't NOT want to spend 30 minutes watching this guy clean a car But this video kept my attention the entire time. Bravo
Congratulations Everyone! Unbelieveable. Larry thank you so much for taking the time to record and edit this journey. You did an amazing job and it's really cool to see a top of the line detail come together and literally reach perfection. Really enjoyed this video.
the owner of that car restored my faith in humanity. A five figure detail job and the dude just wanted to drive it to the concours. Cars like this are meant to be driven.
Sure. How about AFTER the detailing competition. Driving it two miles to the show, after he cut the detailing time by a day, and forcing them to clean it again, is bullshit.
thats the same thought process i had when i saw a video of a guy doing donuts in grass with a konigsegg. i was happy he was using it and not just letting it sit in a garage
g0dbel0w - Quote from the video - “But seeing and hearing a full blown race car driving on the street at dawn is something I’ll never forget.” 25:33 If the guys were OK with driving it there after all of their hard work, we should be too.
When it comes to pride and passion in workmanship you are an example everyone should follow. You truly are the man. I have learned so much from your video's and really enjoy using your products
No matter what the subject, I'm always fascinated with watching someone who is at the pinnacle of their craft. This particular car happens to be my absolute favorite when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I had to watch one burn at the 12hrs of Sebring. A sudden rain hit the track and everyone was tip-toeing back to the pits to put on wets. One of the Mclarens spun and hit a rail, rupturing the fuel tank and catching fire. The driver was fine. I think I was actually more upset about the car than was driver and crew. Great job on preserving a functional piece of engineering art. Great video and thanks for the upload.
After all these years in the auto body industry I’ve just now realized how profoundly important and how much of an art detailing a car is. Your videos are insanely interesting and entertaining. Keep up the great work.
What a beautiful machine. This vehicle is truly a work of art. You guys did one hell of a job getting that car ready. Just found your channel a few weeks ago, really enjoy learning from the best now that I'm getting serious about detailing. Thanks for sharing, great video!
Wow. Didn't think I was going to sit through a 30 minute video about detailing a car but it was so well produced that I couldn't stop. Well done by everyone involved in this and fantastic job done with the car!
WHY WOULD THE OWNER WANT TO DRIVE IT AFTER ALL THIS DETAILING WORK? :/ couldn't he have just waited till after the event? Amazing work Larry, you're a BOSS!
Concours level detailing is so far beyond me, but I have so much respect and admiration for it! I just can't imagine how stressful it must be; even slightly widening the grooves on a phillips-head screw can ruin everything. Absolutely stunning results, and an award well earned! Congrats. :D
And Larry you won the Spirit of the Detail and Video Award. You and your team did an amazing job that truly was an EPIC DETAIL. The level and quality of video and editing was just amazing. Thanks for sharing it.
I personally didn't even think the car was that beautiful -- I'm not a fan of ads on my cars. ...But by God was I biting my lip the entire time for this video. Congrats, Larry! You guys deserved this win!
Just ordered some of your Ammo Reflex and Ammo Skin. Thank you for the code, LOVE your videos your the whole reason why I've gotten into car detailing. I'm really looking forward to finally trying out your products!
Just saw this entire video to motivate myself to do a detail right away to my weekend toy ride. Thank you so much Matt, for all the help we get from you. And always thumbs up, you´re de the detailing king. :)
That was just awesome, the passion, dedication, workmanship, editing, production. You name it, that video had it. 30 minutes of utter enjoyment on my end and not to mention ITS THE FREAKING MCLAREN F1 GTR LONGTAIL (IN GULF LIVERY!!!!)
You're still the best detailer on TH-cam. I need tips, i come to your channel. Thanks to all the time you take to explain things in a way anyone can understand, the thought of working on high end cars no longer bothers me now!
Great video!!! I always love watching these extreme detailing techniques & get excited to try them on my own car, then I remember that I have a 10 year old Subaru that is my daily driver & it's just not worth it. Hahaha.
Integrity in what you do, whatever you do. Thanks for the awesome video guys. The McLaren F1 is my dream car since I was 6 (just like many other people) and I clicked the video mostly to watch the car, left the video inspired to be the best in what I do (architecture) just like you guys in your field. Once again thanks!
Awesome. Woke up in the middle of the night here in New Zealand, saw this had just been posted and couldn't help but watch it. You really did put the 'Detail' into detailing with this one. Great work.
Well, 138 hours, and let's just roughly say it was $50/hour, that would translate to a $6900 job for just labor. I have no clue how much they charge per hour, but you also have to figure the bill would also include logistics like airfare, lodging for a week for 3/4 guys, and I would believe that the bill would be north of $10k very easy, but also very worthwhile. When you have a 8-figure car that is a 1 of 1 rarity, every penny of a quality detail is worth it for such a prestigious event.
You sir are a true master and a problem solver. Congratulations on the award!!! My offroad vehicle gets treated to some of the methods I've learned from your videos and all my friends think I'm crazy for worrying about the paint of an offroad vehicle.

Congratulation on this amazing achievement, I was completely entertained and had a large smile on my face when you revealed the "Spirit of the Quail" award. Cheers!!
Ammo & Gang : Spends 148+ man hours detailing everything on the car. Owner : I want to drive it 2 miles to the show on some dirty ass roads. Ammo & Gang : Am i a joke to you?
It certainly had a worn look. As you can see in the video some panels were cracked and the paint was damaged as they have been worn out. All they did was cleaning the car.
Topaz Detailing did a video on a 120 hour Enzo detail, they showed the mechanics of it all, but this is better because you're, more importantly, describing the whys and hows.
Hold on now.................seems the car could be dirty and still win this award????? Award seems to have little to do with detailing???????? Am I off the mark?
Been watching your stuff for a long time now. I have applied a lot of your techniques to high end bicycle frames. Thanks so much for making these videos. You are so good.
So, initially i though that I would not watch the whole episode and give my full 30 min of time for this but once I seen the first min of the episode, i was completely hook in awe. Amazing detail! Now I have the urge to detail my car! thanks guys! haha.
This is far better than I could have imagined when you were talking about this on your podcast awhile back that you might have the opportunity to do this. Phenomenally excellent video Larry! Always love me some Kevin Brown in your videos too
I agree with a few of the comments. Seems mad to have you guys detail the car, and spend so much time and effort for it to then be driving to the show. Ah fair enough, dont get me wrong im a massive supporter that cars should be driven rather than just a display piece. Just seemed a strange plan even though it must have been amazing hearing that car driving on the road 😊
What a master piece. You guys are not only extremely patient and meticulous, but are very lucky to be able to work on such a rare beauty. Congrats to everyone! Timeless beauty!
Great video. You must feel very proud for them to be using your products on this car Larry. Again, fantastic video and congratulations on the team's win. Well deserved.
it is unreal the amount of love and dedication you all project! Your level of professionalism is unmatched! Love your channel and sometimes its overwhelming with all the polishes and waxes and such but I LOVE IT!
Amazing car. Excellent programme. Professionally shot and edited. Very informative and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you and congratulations on the award.
Have to say...seems like a bit of a selfish owner to drive it before the event after all the work you all did. I worked as a detailer for Ferrari years ago and knew this type of person, sadly. I am happy for you all, obviously, but just wish you didn't have to deal with those unnecessary moments.
Well I for one love this format! . I think we can admit we're all detail oriented, the long format is perfect. I'd ask for more but that is asking a lot; it's clear how much work this takes your end. Thank you! (Oh and the buff-daddy still makes the best pads out there!) Larry, right now I think you have the best job in the world, but the Impala years were tough to get here...
Larry, why do you keep ignoring the huge motorcycle community, man? When are you going to do a video on the specifics of motorcycle detailing (how to get to the tricky spots, what products suit the different materials, what areas to avoid rinsing and how to protect them, etc)? Come on!
Congrats to all and to you Larry. What an inspiration to all detainers from the weekend warriors in the driveways to the professionals running businesses. I absolutely love what your doing with the channel Larry. As always thanks for being there. Wishes for your continued success.
I always wondered the best way to detail my McLaren F1 GTR LT.
Thats how I do my Scion xB.
My Fiat Multipla deserves it as well.
I asked this question myself when my Dacia Sandero gets dirty...
surely my wrangler will need it before going to moab.... 'Murica
It's close enough to a Nissan Micra
Watching stuff like this reminds me how awesome it is that there are so many TH-cam channels producing content with, in many cases, greater production value than a lot of actual TV shows. Cable is dead.
Great!! And the sooner Comcast dies, the better!!!!
I'll remember these tips for the next time I'm cleaning my McLaren F1 GTR LT
Kristian Niss or u can use them on another car with wheels, paint, interior, and engine
here is a bit of story on it i wrote drivetribe.com/p/S7GvzIGuTyqdys3-eO7rYw/BdqSMaiNQ0y963wu1zeFUg
Corneliu Codreanu you got roasted boi
Reed Seeje shut yo ass up you prob drive a supra
Andrew Do 1. Wouldn’t mind a supra 2. He’s clearly being sarcastic
Crazy to think this was once a race car. Now it's being pampered for an insane 138 hour detail, to sit in a garage.
Pretty much what my daily driver goes through as well.
That would be sad....but thats not true. The following weekend it was in Spain racing. As much as everyone one may want to hate on the owner. He is a cool guy that drives, races, and enjoys his car.

When you said that the owner wanted to drive it to the show I could only think of you guys facepalming and thinking "ffs"
Same here. I was like wtf? It's like taking the mona Lisa out on the back seat of mpv alongside kids and dogs
No, he's using the car EXACTLY as intended - by driving it.
@@spdcrzy At 35 or 50 MPH? Not really exactly as intended.
Wow, an owner wants to drive their car?
Wouldn’t even want drive that thing on the road you’ll get whiplash from hitting a pothole
When I started watching this I didn't NOT want to spend 30 minutes watching this guy clean a car
But this video kept my attention the entire time.
Bravo
Your editing skills are amazing Larry! Well done!
Obsessed Garage you are amazing :)
he should have had u help him matt!
Obsessed Garage thanks matt!!!!
why even drive it if your going to be such a vagina about cleaning
Why is Linus cleaning cars?
lol
Because he tried cleaning computers and it didn't go so well.
i came here for this
because TUNNELBEAR
applying what he learned on his lambo
Congratulations Everyone! Unbelieveable. Larry thank you so much for taking the time to record and edit this journey. You did an amazing job and it's really cool to see a top of the line detail come together and literally reach perfection. Really enjoyed this video.

these guys are true legends Larry is the whole reason I got a job at porsche detailing. fantastic work
I think you mean "whole" dude hahaha
Thank goodness you are detailing cars and not utilizing your grammar skills for a job.
Oh deer I was drunk wasn't I 😂

I don't quite see how, as he made this job happen in the first place instead of just driving it.
thats the same thought process i had when i saw a video of a guy doing donuts in grass with a konigsegg. i was happy he was using it and not just letting it sit in a garage
@@godbelow He's paying for it so it's fine. The owner(s) clearly has money.

If the guys were OK with driving it there after all of their hard work, we should be too.
Of all of Larry’s videos, this is always a treat to watch. Hope to see more McLaren F1’s on the channel.
This video is a gold mine of reference material for scale modelers! Thank you so much.
I’m sure you will make one hell of a replica of it. Can not wait to see the video….just sayin!
When it comes to pride and passion in workmanship you are an example everyone should follow. You truly are the man. I have learned so much from your video's and really enjoy using your products

The famous F1 GTR, lovely. I do like the F1 LM better though. Such a fabulous car.
Job well done you guys!
Larry, you guys did an absolute amazing job!! Words cannot describe.

so the car won the award for its design, engineering etc, not the detail, shame after all that work
Actually the detail is judged.
The best detail is completely invisible and leaves only a beautiful car behind. An award at this level is because of the detail.

Awesome. Woke up in the middle of the night here in New Zealand, saw this had just been posted and couldn't help but watch it.
You really did put the 'Detail' into detailing with this one.
Great work.
A true $40K detail job =)
was it really 40k?
no
That thing is worth 14.000.000$~
I thought it'd cost more than that, tbh. (the detailing fees)

Hey just call the office. Happy to chat
Watching your work is a process of healing for me man. For some reason the process of making a flawless car is so therapeutic. Much respek!
To dislike this video is to admit that your soul may be broken and irreparable.
lol
Dunno about irreparable, but certainly unappreciative of hard work
How on earth that I missed this video to this late date is beyond me ... beautiful production, amazing story and of course one of the most insanely perfect automobiles of all time.
Unreal! The finish is flawless. That is the most elite detailing I've ever seen
When it comes to cars that were actually raced I prefer the "worn" look over pristine.
repairdrive but your not a concours judge, so your opinion is irrelevant
www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Internet+Troll
It certainly had a worn look. As you can see in the video some panels were cracked and the paint was damaged as they have been worn out. All they did was cleaning the car.
repairdrive pretty sure you’d change that opinion quick if you actually had the car
Incredible attention to detail. You sir are one of the best detailers in the world. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us.
Topaz Detailing did a video on a 120 hour Enzo detail, they showed the mechanics of it all, but this is better because you're, more importantly, describing the whys and hows.

No problem. Learned so much from your videos. When my 17 raptor shows up, definitely placing an order for your stuff.
Amazing work guys! Your work is an inspiration for detailers all over the world.

like what
SuperOCHomes Which techniques?
This is exactly how I detail my Schwinn Debutante every weekend
Schwinn man myself too. 2011 Discovery hybrid.
This video is so satisfying to watch, it's rare to see masters of this calibre at work. Thank you to AMMO and the whole crew.
ery very nice....and the number 1 question on everybody's minds...how much does a job like this cost?
$25000
blizzak454 I can get the same results in 6 hours and for 250 dls 😆😂😂😂
viperz888 how do you know? if so that's less than I expected for a car of this magnitude and rarity.
+Terrence Chapman I've had stuff like this done before
viperz888 damn bro.... #LifeGoals 😭😂
So, initially i though that I would not watch the whole episode and give my full 30 min of time for this but once I seen the first min of the episode, i was completely hook in awe. Amazing detail!
Now I have the urge to detail my car! thanks guys! haha.
1:37 looks clean to me..
That's why it's called detailing...it's in the details :)
Awesome Larry. You guys didn't stop smiling from start to finish. Top job as always and many congratulations 👍🏽👍🏽
But did you remember to empty the ashtray and give the door jambs a quick wipe down?
a racecar has ashtray? k
This is far better than I could have imagined when you were talking about this on your podcast awhile back that you might have the opportunity to do this. Phenomenally excellent video Larry! Always love me some Kevin Brown in your videos too
Good memory. I had forgotten about that
Larry great vid, Q: Who played the guitar music at the end and what was it called?
Brian Kavanagh it's part of a Bach suite performed by Matthew Anderson.
Driving sports thanks
Driving Sports TV FTW Thanks
This episode was insane!! Appreciated all the hard work in the producing of the video and hope we could see some others like this one

Ah fair enough, dont get me wrong im a massive supporter that cars should be driven rather than just a display piece. Just seemed a strange plan even though it must have been amazing hearing that car driving on the road 😊
Great episode, excellent story-line. Good editing, so worth the week spent in works on this episode. Thank you, Larry.
How in the hell did I arrive to detailing car videos
Well, you chose the right way!
Same way I did, by chance while looking at something else, but got some tips and know this car.
What a master piece. You guys are not only extremely patient and meticulous, but are very lucky to be able to work on such a rare beauty.
Congrats to everyone! Timeless beauty!

Congrats to all and to you Larry. What an inspiration to all detainers from the weekend warriors in the driveways to the professionals running businesses. I absolutely love what your doing with the channel Larry. As always thanks for being there. Wishes for your continued success.
