It is the end of an era. Helen Dillon's amazing garden in Renelagh, Dublin, The Dillon Garden, has been sold and is closing this year. Helen is the Doyenne of Irish Gardening but wishing her all the best in her new venture.
This is two of four videos as I intend to film this iconic Irish garden each month before the gates finally close in September.

Absolutely beautiful! The Garden of Eden. My eyes have seen many new plants, but to bad they will not grow in my hot climate. Thanks for the tour.

Helen Dillon's garden does evoke a lot of emotions in people - envy, depression. But most of all it is inspirational. Thank you for watching.

Apparently I had missed this video. I would have recognized the blue cobaea flower that you showed in the video. :) What a wonderful garden. So many blooms!!!

It's really going gangbusters with a riot of color now. Some choice lilies and other delights. That blueish clematis mixing with the alstroemerias is quite an eye catcher. Me being a foliage nut I liked that you included the curly-leafed ferns and some of the other plants that contribute to the overall lushness of Helen's masterpiece.

Lovely color combinations and makes me wish that I could grow several of the plants she has but alas, it is way to cold here for some of them. Years ago, I remember an article where Helen had an aversion to any pot that was not made of clay but looks like she moved on from that and it all fits in beautifully anyway. Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to take a look as well.

Yes, Helen is all about silver bins for her plants these days and dislikes clay. I'm not with her on that. But it would be pretty much the only thing I could disagree with.

Helen Dillon is an icon and her work is one reason why I'm training as a gardener!

You sounded so sad at the end, as if you were losing an old friend.

@@GardeningatDouentza I am at the moment creating a garden. This has been lovely to watch as I look and see what can be done. Perhaps when I have got through the making beds. laying paths. and installing my Bee hives I will send you a few pictures? However, in the mean time I shall enjoy your videos. Thank you.

@@brigidscullion5292 What an exciting project! Happy for you. And how wonderful you are installing bee hives. You can send me photos via the facebook page (link in the 'about' tab on TH-cam or the 'description' on any video) when you want to. Happy growing.

Love all the beautiful flowers, bushes and garden artifacts. The breeze really accentuated their beauty nicely! I can imagine how you are going to miss going there, however you have so much beauty at home!

I will miss my annual visit to Helen's. But If I go four times this year it might tide me over until 2010 :) Maybe not :D
