People have become these days so fucking blindly nostalgic that are unable to see a proper remake remaining faithful to the original. Things like Toki remake are rare! The game is great in every way. People complaining like they wanted to play the exact same Toki.. go and play the original on Mame WTF? Music remade excellent, graphics so beautiful to look at, gameplay like the original.. wake up and stop whinning like ignorant boys! Its so stupid to say I prefer the original. Remakes are not released to surpass the original people but to enjoy our beloved original games with a little extra something of current gaming days.
I love the remake. Ultimate graphics, music totally new, and I liked the little detail in the ice level of the enemies with a scarf and earmuffs. The only thing that I dont like is the map... That map is so confusing! I prefer the lineal map. Also, in the transition for level 3, 4 and 5, Toki appears from nowhere in the map.
I remember struggling bad with the rail segment near the end when playing this on my Amiga 500 back in the 90s. No saves back then so I had to keep the Amiga on over night and keep trying the next day. I didn't want to restart the game from the beginning and didn't know about the cheat codes back then for level select. A real fun game!

OK stiamo vivendo un epoca di remake...dalla musica ai videogiochi al cinema però mai mi sarei immaginato che a distanza di 30 anni qualcuno avesse riproposto un prodotto videoludico che mantenesse INTATTA la struttura di gioco cambiandosi solo di veste grafica. Qualcuno potrebbe essere critico sulle scelte stilistiche specie dei livelli 4 e 6 io credo invece che abbiano migliorato dei concetti che già 30 anni fa non si espressero perfettamente per via dei limiti dei mezzi grafici di allora...il ghiaccio viola non si può vedere e fino ad oggi avevo creduto rappresentasse una miniera di quarzo...inoltre il fondale del lago ghiacciato in versione originale era totalmente priva di fondo se non un blu omogeneo. TUTTAVIA la cosa importante da capire è che le strutture semplici e di veloce lettura di tali giochi del passato esprimono una giocabilità assoluta...divertimento assicurato! Sarebbe bello rivedere altri classici TAITO come Bonze Adventure , Wadner o kikikaikai o magari Toplan Demon's World o magari i classiconi IREM come Legend of Hero Tonma o Hammerin harry ochi più ne ha più ne metta!

La nuova grafica ha enfatizzato le atmosfere fantasy al massimo.Cosa assai difficile con i limiti grafici di un tempo.La giocabilità rimane inalterata e per quanto WBDsT presenti una struttura "da esplorazione" piuttosto ampia più adatta ad un gioco "domestico" che a un arcade, il prodotto finale rimane comunque longevo e divertente.A tal proposito va ricordato il coraggio di SEGA ne portare tra i "Coin op" un progetto come Monster Land che se non erro presenta una struttura di gioco del tutto simile a Dragon's Trap benchè più leggerina. In ogni caso non ho mai visto nessuno nelle salette dei bar o nelle sale giochi arrivare alla fine di Monster Land. Per farlo ho dovuto ricorrere al Sacro MAME da "grande" e con grandissimo stupore ho scoperto che dietro di tutto alla fine ci sono sempre sti poveri cristi di Alieni. Another thing which kind of bugs me is that the perspective looks like it's a little more zoomed in on Toki, whereas in the old version it seems like you could see more of the play area and thus have more time to react to things. It's a small detail but it makes a big difference when you're trying to play what is already a fairly difficult game.

Al parecer solo fue un error de edición, según un comentario de más abajo en que preguntaron lo mismo en inglés. Pero si te fijás, en la segunda vez que se repite el nivel, 17:11 17:15, más o menos, se ve que las vidas bajan de 5 a 3 de golpe XD

@@hiramdordelly8833 y en nivel super fácil, ademas dan muchas mas vidas, en el arcade eran solo 2 y las que lograbas a lo largo del juego que solo eran 3 mas y que al lograr tomarlas corrías el riesgo de perder 1 vida, ahh y también la que lograbas con las monedas, en fin... lo mismo pero mucho mas sencillo, yo creo que con la dificultad idónea para los gamer´s actuales que para nada están acostumbrados a ese nivel de dificultad, yo solo pude terminar ese juego con una sola moneda 1 vez!! y fue a base de muchas tardes de afinar los patrones de las misiones y los enemigos.

Estaría bueno que subieras un video y nos compartieras la liga para demostrar tremenda hazaña amigo, claramente se vería la diferencia entre este juego de Switch y el de arcade, por cierto en nivel "Hardest" los simios aguantan 3 disparos y los Boss tienen mas barra de poder lo cual hace muy difícil de matar a el mamut tu sabrás por que lo digo, saludos.
Se rifacessero un Rainbow Island, Bobble Bubble o Wonder Boy con questa veste grafica, non mi dispiacerebbe. Dell'ultimo poi non ho mai visto il finale.
giocato ieri su ps4 e terminato in poco meno di un'ora (tra game over e pause "zen" ahahha). Graficamente bellissimo. Longevità ridicola, ma giustificata dalla sua natura. In sala giochi mettevi la moneta e passavi giusto quel paio d'ore tra un gioco e l'altro. Quindi una trasposizione fedele non poteva fare il miracolo...Eppure la critica verso questo gioco sta proprio nel remake: avrebbero potuto aggiungere dei livelli e magari inserire qualche scenetta d'intermezzo per vivacizzare un po' il tutto e allungare l'esperienza di gioco. Sappiate che il finale compare solo se non lo giocate in modalità Facile. L'unica differenza tra le varie difficoltà sta nei crediti a disposizione. Tutto il resto m'è sembrato invariato. Nel 2019, su console, è inconcepibile che un gioco duri mezz'ora. L'ho comprato su amazon per 20€, di cui 10€ pagati con un buono ricevuto in regalo. Quindi ho speso 10€ per giocare poco meno di un'ora. Con 20.000 Lire, in sala giochi, avrei preso talmente tanti di quei gettoni da finire almeno metà dei cabinati. Quindi, esperienza breve e intensa (che mi ha riportato piacevolmente indietro nel tempo), ma rapporto qualità/quantità/prezzo troppo sproporzionato. Punto negativo anche per i contenuti fisici: un libretto delle istruzioni, vecchio stile, sarebbe stato motivo di collezionismo e giustificazione per il prezzo speso. Invece ci ritroviamo solo la custodia e il disco. SU switch, invece, hanno fatto le cose in grande per la versione fisica. Tanta invidia XD Se posso darvi un consiglio per vivere una bellissima esperienza "retro", recuperate Monster Boy. Gioco spettacolare. Vi impegnerà per tante ore, in maniera totalmente differente da Toki, perchè spesso dovrete usare il cervello per andare avanti. Inoltre, nella custodia troverete un bellissimo libretto delle istruzioni vecchio stile, oltre a qualche adesivo. Se dobbiamo rapportare la spesa di toki 20€ e di monster boy 50-60€, direi che per le ore e il divertimento che regala MB, merita ogni singolo euro speso. (pagato qualche mese fa 50€ su amazon).
Bella prova di design e tutto (stavolta meno giapponese e più occidentale, il che non mi dispiace)... ma era proprio necessario un remake? Perché non fare un seguito?

Essa versão é baseado no Arcade. A versão do Mega Drive foi desenvolvido pela Sega, apesar de ser inferior graficamente, gostei mais da versão do Mega Drive, era mais divertido e o som era muito bom.

@@hiramdordelly8833 y en nivel super fácil, ademas dan muchas mas vidas, en el arcade eran solo 2 y las que lograbas a lo largo del juego que solo eran 3 mas y que al lograr tomarlas corrías el riesgo de perder 1 vida, ahh y también la que lograbas con las monedas, en fin... lo mismo pero mucho mas sencillo, yo creo que con la dificultad idónea para los gamer´s actuales que para nada están acostumbrados a ese nivel de dificultad, yo solo pude terminar ese juego con una sola moneda 1 vez!! y fue a base de muchas tardes de afinar los patrones de las misiones y los enemigos.

@@albertodorantes1945 a cada rato lo termino en el mame en el nivel más alto y a veces sin perder ni una vida. Consiguiendo tomar todas logrando las 7 vidas posibles q se pueden obtener.

Estaría bueno que subieras un video y nos compartieras la liga para demostrar tremenda hazaña amigo, claramente se vería la diferencia entre este juego de Switch y el de arcade, por cierto en nivel "Hardest" los simios aguantan 3 disparos y los Boss tienen mas barra de poder lo cual hace muy difícil de matar a el mamut tu sabrás por que lo digo, saludos.

Se rifacessero un Rainbow Island, Bobble Bubble o Wonder Boy con questa veste grafica, non mi dispiacerebbe. Dell'ultimo poi non ho mai visto il finale.

giocato ieri su ps4 e terminato in poco meno di un'ora (tra game over e pause "zen" ahahha).
Graficamente bellissimo. Longevità ridicola, ma giustificata dalla sua natura. In sala giochi mettevi la moneta e passavi giusto quel paio d'ore tra un gioco e l'altro. Quindi una trasposizione fedele non poteva fare il miracolo...Eppure la critica verso questo gioco sta proprio nel remake: avrebbero potuto aggiungere dei livelli e magari inserire qualche scenetta d'intermezzo per vivacizzare un po' il tutto e allungare l'esperienza di gioco.
Sappiate che il finale compare solo se non lo giocate in modalità Facile. L'unica differenza tra le varie difficoltà sta nei crediti a disposizione. Tutto il resto m'è sembrato invariato.
Nel 2019, su console, è inconcepibile che un gioco duri mezz'ora. L'ho comprato su amazon per 20€, di cui 10€ pagati con un buono ricevuto in regalo. Quindi ho speso 10€ per giocare poco meno di un'ora. Con 20.000 Lire, in sala giochi, avrei preso talmente tanti di quei gettoni da finire almeno metà dei cabinati.
Quindi, esperienza breve e intensa (che mi ha riportato piacevolmente indietro nel tempo), ma rapporto qualità/quantità/prezzo troppo sproporzionato.
Punto negativo anche per i contenuti fisici: un libretto delle istruzioni, vecchio stile, sarebbe stato motivo di collezionismo e giustificazione per il prezzo speso. Invece ci ritroviamo solo la custodia e il disco. SU switch, invece, hanno fatto le cose in grande per la versione fisica. Tanta invidia XD
Se posso darvi un consiglio per vivere una bellissima esperienza "retro", recuperate Monster Boy. Gioco spettacolare. Vi impegnerà per tante ore, in maniera totalmente differente da Toki, perchè spesso dovrete usare il cervello per andare avanti. Inoltre, nella custodia troverete un bellissimo libretto delle istruzioni vecchio stile, oltre a qualche adesivo. Se dobbiamo rapportare la spesa di toki 20€ e di monster boy 50-60€, direi che per le ore e il divertimento che regala MB, merita ogni singolo euro speso. (pagato qualche mese fa 50€ su amazon).

chiedo scusa, ultimamente gli italiani che hanno commentato questo video era solo per denigrare il remake o creare disturbo, si è uscito Novembre dell anno scorso, spero vivamente che esca anche su altre console o meglio ancora, su PC

Essa versão é baseado no Arcade. A versão do Mega Drive foi desenvolvido pela Sega, apesar de ser inferior graficamente, gostei mais da versão do Mega Drive, era mais divertido e o som era muito bom.
