Phil, you do need separate earth wires, you cannot earth everything to the DC HUB. The batteries must have their own earth to chassis. It's assembled in Australia, that is legally very different from claiming to be Australian made. It has the exact same max output amps as the Redvision, which is 80amps, it has 150amp Aux INPUT, not 150amp OUTPUT. I actually am looking forward to your install of the DC HUB.

I was thinking earth of the starter battery as it's also earthed to the chassis. That's how I have my current setup for the past 3 years.

I can't recall how I earthed my house battery now, It's been over 3 years since I changed anything on my current setup. When I start dismantling this current setup I will know. But if I recall. I've got a bus bar, that was earthed it's self to the chassis, but in the past 3 years I changed it, as it was removed from my old 4wd to the pajero. and I think I have that bus bar earthed of the starter battery if I recall.

@@PhilsCampingReviews If you look at your DC HUB instructions it will say "Negative ground only is not sufficient. We recommend a dedicated negative ground cable directly from the battery." on both the starter and aux battery. Congrats on the Drifta gig, can't say I like the Stockton idealogy but you have good energy for it. Wish I could still buy real Snow Peak and Uniflame products and not knock offs.

I’m looking forward to seeing you use the dc hub in your install. It looks like a good product. Keep up the good work Phil.

Thanks Phillip. ASPW unfortunately has explained this product horribly and has thrown a lot of people off. He needs people like yourself and other you tubers to get onboard and show how to actually use it. You have sold and given the product validity in the real world way better than ASPW

Thanks M S. After I finished filming this video yesterday and just before I uploaded, Andrew uploaded a new video explaining the DC Hub a bit better with Heinz. I saw the benefit in this and decided to purchase one instead of a couple of barbecue smokers I had saved up for.

I just finished my Lithium 120a system with 2 multi point earths and a 500 amp shunt this would have been handy but perhaps I will upgrade later on. This would be far tidier.

That’s what I reckon. Far tidier setup and less cables as well.

Love these, really want to add this into my DOT’s redarc manager 30 system.

I can't wait to get onto the rebuild. I'm out of town till early next week, so the build will continue when I return back home. I started putting it together last night.

You say your going to minimise the clutter but it sounds like your adding something to the wall that's not really needed , take the dcdc charger for example, if it's mounted under the bonnet infront of the radiator and the dc hub is located in the rear of the vehicle won't you have to run two sets of cables (from starter to hub then hub to charger ) instead of from starter to dc charger then straight to battery? Also how far away can you mount your air compressor away from the hub without suffering voltage drop?

I don't mount dc dc chargers in engine bay. Always mount near house battery. The ARB Twin compressor will be mounted within a foot of the DC Hub. Where I have my solar blanket stored now is where the Compressor will mount, the solar blanket will than be stored on top my Fridge cage.

The ARB compressor will wait till I have the lithium. My AGM is not suitable for the draw the compressor will use.

Go DCS lithium because not all lithium are the same in design. You get what you pay for 👍
