Robert is a great teacher....I bought all his videos 20 yrs ago and that's how I got started learning how to tie knots.......take a piece of pvc and wrap it with cork it works pretty good. you can use various dia. of pvc. also try making a mandrel and pins. they work great for larger pieces.....have fun....
I really needed this knot in my life I’ve been doing everything to finish off round braid from a bow serving knot to epoxy. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.great video. Thanks
Dude! I have been looking for this video for a long time. I have a Robert Black video, but not this one. Not having seen "this" video, but being familiar with his teaching style, I feel as though for have recreated it. Thank you so so much.

I for one did learn from this excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
I've struggled with getting this knot down. You have presented how to tie it perfectly. Thank you for doing this
Thanks mate, that's the best tutorial I seen on knot tying, you have the right approach to teach. Thanks from Australia.
Excellent video think you for making it. You explained the process perfectly, thank you.
This was the clearest explanation of this method I have ever seen.
How do you size the knot for different diameters?
You have to add bights to make the diameter larger.
Thanks

Wow! This is brilliant!
Cool freaking knot Aaron
awesome way to teach this best I've seen
Thank you! I finally get it now!!!
Awesome 👍
Excellent
This would be a cool ring. Or even the multicolor. Is That's possible?
You would need to tighten in on a base of some sort such as a wooden or metal ring.
If we want to do a Spanish Ring knot, do we start it on the mandrel and will we be able to tighten it down like the Turks Head knot?
@@bobm8128 yes, it can be done that way
How do you know how thick to cut your string to cover your thickness of your project you are putting the knot over, does circumference come into it.
@@garywhite5639 mostly just experience can do this best. I have not figured out a mathematical way.
it's actually a 6 bight 7 part turkshead
Would this work on a semi flat surface, like making a grip on a handle for a crescent wrench?
Yes it will
@@makersleathersupply1220 Cool, as soon as those kits are back in stock I'll be getting one.
Aaron, How long should I cut the original piece of lace?
28" is plenty to start this one.
Aaron, thank you, you are such a great instructor, must be the military in us cause I need to see to do as well can’t read and do it. Tks Brother
