relax people.. it just run for aprox 5000rpm or so.. single cyl, low compresion, mild everyday use. and it will be back to another overhaul in 4 or 5 years. not a fancy high precision build to last decades.. this is best local can get for a 10 bucks. just enjoy it..
For all the people putting this guy down for not being "professional", I'd (as a mechanic) say that this rebuild was not that bad, actually. From my experience of truing single-rod cranks, you can easily see the runout down to 0.10 mm by a naked eye. Yes, if you plan on running 10+ krpm, you'll need a dial gauge to get the runout down to 0.02 mm or 1 thou of an inch. However, these cranks supposedly belong to low-power scooters, which usually call for a crank runout of max 0.10 mm according to the factory manuals. Also, he installed the bearings properly by hitting the inner race. By a great chance, most of these cranks are actually decent after his work. His shop would, however, use a little cleaning every now and then.

that is truly amazing work !! the man is good at what he does and he is doing the best he can do with the tools he has ,, i say thats a true craftsman !!!
god damn bro! unbelievable work! you rebuild them cranks better then wiseco or vitos I bet, the hell with what other people say in the comments unless its positive of course
Pokoe kerja ya mas, masalah hasil pasrahkan sama pelanggan, emang bisane gitu. Hehehe.... Minta serba alat cnc an tarik mahal nanti kaget... Sesuai ongkos n kebutuhan ya mas.. Mantap😁😁😂😂😂
*He's paid only about 2.5 USD (30k IDR) for each crankshaft he's done, and the fun fact is, people come to his shop to get their crankshaft done* He's not asking you to bring your crank there.
+valkemiere His customers dare not complain about his work or the result of his 'whacking' on their crankshaft by his hammer or else these customers will surely have to face the wrath of his ever POWERFUL use, of his HAMMER!
+valkemiere It is not whether his hammer is made of aluminum or not. He whack the crank here and there, without actually checking with proper measuring instrument. Just his 'feel' and using his eye for alignment. Might as well WHACK his own head and get it ALIGNED! hahaha
Good Job!! I dont know why everyone gives this dude a hard time!!...it about perspective..this is fine in a 2000 rpm Honda C90 and that's probably where it will end up. So what if it lasts 10,000 miles - for $20 you can keep doing it.
Wow, I was really intimidated by this crank rebuilding stuff. I was looking at buying almost 2500$USD of equipment (3x times more than the ATV I'm rebuilding). I think I can do this with the tools I have now ! I have a press, digital calipers and 0.0001" run out gauge, if I spend all day fiddling I should be able to do it at least as good as this guy. Thanks for showing me this valkemiere !
I have a crank made of sheet metal so I'm worried I'll dent it or something. I'll try pressing it in as close as possible and then use something like a stiff bean bag, like they use to beat sheet metal into shape to bring it into alignement
I rebuilt a 350 twin crank using nothing more than a hammer and a straight edge; I didn`t even have a press back then I used wedges to separate the crank webs instead; all of you butt hurts try taking food from your kids mouth in order to have your crank "professionaly" rebuilt; these guys hardly make 100 dollars a month in those countries; it`s easy to bash on people when you have it good
Ciprian Maior its a shame it cost $100 here to do what he did. I’m sure it goes on to V blocks and it true before it goes out. This man could crush it in LA.
well he's not building a race bike. People mosly use bikes to put around town, and they don't have money to spend on shops that will take more time. Seems to work ok. sometimes an experienced persons feel can be about as good as careful measurements....sometimes.
once you snap the throttle a few times the flywheels set themselves, they slip on the pin into perfect balance anyway, rod side clearance is more important flywheel alignment
Although I maintain the attitude that you can fix a moped by shouting swear words at it and hitting it with a hammer, the one thing I never fuck around with, not even when I find a piece of junk and make it run just for my own amusement, is the crankshaft.
i personally watched a friend of mine who happens to be a certified engineer and a 2 time ISDE silver medalist and the the father to a kid that got his first one this year and the 3rd gen owner of a 75+ year old family machine shop rebuild a lot of cranks just like that only he uses a 10 ton arbor press crank rebuilding is not a big deal an arbor press , feeler gauges , framing square an a dead blow hammer is all you need his cranks have won state championship an placed very high in national events and earned 3 trips to the six days
Inner race is meant to be punished either with press or hammer. Bearings are the failure mode of any crank not the steel. This guy is a top pro and let me tell you if he wanted precision by tool he would use it.
in south asian countries this the only way to repair crankshaft so dont write stupid comments it is take or refuse thing you wont get 1 ton hydraulic press
This is insanely cool. I went to school to be a motorcycle mechanic and we wacked the hammers on the crank too but not as hard. We also used a press but what would be so cool to see is him do 5 cranks back to back and check all of them with a dial indicator and if there with in specs from his eye ball truing then that would be bad ass and shut a lot of the haters on here up. The people on here who complain that this isn’t right and would rather pay $300 to pay a shop to do it behind closed doors are the people who ask for free help, complain about there food at restaurants and have no passion to learn things hands on. Good riddance pussys 🙌🏾 Put some respect in these guys names! 👌🏽
The rebuilt process of the crankshaft and changing connecting rod is improper also fitting the bearings for the crank case, I felt really hurt while he was hammering the crank. I don't think there will be 100% accuracy. DON"T BE PROUD WITH WRONG PROCESS. Please guys take feedback and start working professionally if you guys were in my country I am sure I have sued you guys and put behind BAR. Not impressive at all.
Lmao 100% balanced. You know nothing. It is hard enough to get the run out to 2 thou and manuafacturers produce 3 to 4 thou RUN OUT. nobodys balancing the chinese 2 stroke cranks. And this crank just got fucked. P.s no thrust washers on connect rod. Wtf did i just watch. A butcher. All those cranks in the background were returns from customers
Hi Rohan Sutar Thanks for sharing. In my opinion its lousy. By not using a hydraulic pusher; the main pin touching the connecting rod & long pin bearings will slightly deform by hammer impact causing the engine to give off the dreaded "Clack Clack Clack" sound even after engine rebuild. Now I know why my Honda EX 5 motorcycle is noisy even after major overhaul on crank shaft & connecting rod. These are the usual lousy machine shop we have in Malaysia. Thanks for sharing again & I hope no hurt feelings.
He needs a job in Formula One, or maybe Rolls Royce. He should maybe be rebuilding the big Trent aero engines..... The real joke is, these engines he is rebuilding will probably work, since Honda and other companies to survive life in the third world with blacksmiths like this fellow mending them.
That was the absolute worst crank rebuild/balance I have ever seen.. those bearings are shot and that crank is trash.. literally just watched someone pull parts out the box, and toss them in the trash. Smh!
the engine was perfectly designed by those people who are brainy enough to create the impossible but that creation was destroyed by the people like this because they don't have something in their brain but only thought to follow...eat, drink, sleep and work...thousand of motorcycle mechanics in the Philippines do the same. once upon a time I am an idiot and become a victim in this kind of disturbing services

exactly hitting the inner race with aluminum is fine, now pounding on the outter at all and that bearing is toast, the guy does one hell of a good job

I do crank repairs, this is ok. Could he use the press for assembly, but for this model machine, this is fine. I would pay him. and tip him.
Ciri khas bengkel di Indonesia, palu dan betel beraksi. Balancing nya juga cuma asal kelihatan lurus,,, gak pakai timbangan balancing....
Respect...This are those kind of video I like to watch not those with some expensive tools.....
He is pro. Everday we have got 30-50 ccrankshaft consumer. No complaint

total BS, there is no way that you have that many clients and no complaints with this method.. unless they also dont care about what theyre selling..
then why not send him to any bike unit, no need to invest for machinery
impressive but would be very impressive if you did it by hand then put dial indicators on it and showed it was in spec
Its not in spec. No wonder they keep breaking down
