I would recommend carrying a light shield and quick melee weapon to help with dogs. Just blocking causes some attacks to bounce off, opening the dog up for counterattack.
They really are. Just one of them in the mix can easily be something you underestimate and then somehow manage to get interrupted in every single thing you do. 2 or more dogs at the same time? Time to focus the hell up. :D
I was talking about this with my bro-in-law earlier today. A lot of streamers begin the stream by promising X content, but get their ass handed to them and end the stream in a raging fit. It seems like they have a preconceived notion that they have it in the bag just because they are streamers. Thing is, Soulsborne games don't care if you stream. A scrub is a scrub til they git gud.

As "hardcore" the difficulty was, a casual attitude when going into it helped infinitely, as it meant I wasn't trying to rush or didn't agonize over deaths that much. Every death a lesson! At some points I did get a bit frustrated, I admit, but never raged and often eventually ended up laughing at how absurdly little chill the game had on some moments :D But completed it and boy am I glad I finally took the plunge to play one of these kinds of games. For whoever cares, since playstyles make the experience vary so much; Melee build, picked a bandit class, used dual daggers (reduvia, misericorde) at first but eventually wanted more range and went with a regular uchigatana and shield, with the occasional switching to quick daggers... yes I used summons (I'll have more time for bigger challenges in the future if I want), didn't find bloodhound step during my playthrough, did beat Malenia and other optional bosses and no I didn't use any exploit cheesing.
Honestly the over the top screaming and tantrums just make me cringe more than anything, I get some (if not most) people are playing it up/faking for 'entertainment' purposes, but damn, some of them genuinely concern me 😅 The most legitimately funny was probably the guy being followed by the giant into the mines, at least his laughter and horror felt genuine.
I've started my adventure with Souls games from DS3. I am still a "Casual". Beaten DS3 only 2 times before got bored. In pvp for about 80% of the time got my a$$ whooped. But I've got some great experience from it. Now over lvl 90 in ER, exploring the world to the maximum (skipping the main quest line is not necessarily the best idea). Haven't tried the pvp in ER yet. PS. the Knight that comes on the 2nd clip...he gave me quite a hard time until one moment when he has spread his wings, charged at me and flew out the window/arch on that tower. Gravity is a brutal thing 🤣

I'm also new to the franchise as I've only ever played Elden Ring but I'm kinda proud to say, I didn't die to that kind of deaths often but I did die a lot by Gravity more than the Catacomb copy pasted boss. Other than that, I think I'm doing good. I play as Mages tho so I know some people aren't going to approve of the playstyle but I don't really care. I'm on my 3rd playthrough as a new character to play Archer build. My other first 2 character wasn't fun anymore, as the first one is at NG+5 and the second character is at NG+2. My first character was a Sorcery Mage, the second is Incantation Mage, and the one I am currently playing is Archer. So far, having a blast learning all these things. Had some people guiding me as well on what I should look out for as I already know the game is a hardcore one but not as difficult as most Soulsborne titles by FromSoftware. At least that is what I was told amongst my peers.
Elden Ring was my first FromSoft game and I admit I was worried I'll just get frustrated and not enjoy it at all. Thought "Why would I enjoy being frustrated?" but had grown more curious with every title. I can with confidence say that I absolutely "get it" now and that the hardest fights were without a doubt the highlights of the whole journey and would never trade those moments to easy wins instead. For example beating Bloodhound Darriwil very early in the game was my first victory that felt amazing, as at first it felt impossible, then on the last run it was like a beautiful dance of death with a flow and a rhythm, dodging the attack patterns and conquering it. I guess that lit a fire confidencewise that I can beat the game... and so I did. After I beat Malenia on the second day of trying to beat her, I felt so excited I thought for a while I'm gonna puke and then it was just 10 minutes of feeling like I was high, smiling like an idiot. Also proud I didn't use any exploit cheats (but yes I used summons as they exist in the game, I'll have time to seek bigger challenges later :D) ragequit a single time. (Though a few frustrations here and there for sure. God I hated Astel...) Also before anyone asks; yes, I want a medal. But for any newbies; Highly recommended! Go in with a positive attitude and enjoy the journey, deaths and all and be patient. Take it in a relaxed way, you'll have infinite tries at every boss and no rush! If something kicks your ass, go do something else for a bit, level up a little, check items and physick that could help... there's almost always something new you can try that will help out. Like equipping a different armorset that makes you have to worry a little less about some particular problem of a fight, like immunity against poison or whatever.
The number of girls, wearing the least clothing possible, jumping up and down and over reacting to everything is ridiculous. There's only one reason they stream and it isn't so people can watch the gameplay...
A lot of these girls only use Twitch as a means to draw attention to their OnlyFans content; basically they draw in the young men with the gaming, then if you want to see their 'premium' content, just pay a little money every month and it's basically the same thing with boobs. I mean, did anyone really watch Adriana Chechik, who never found an object she wouldn't shove a foot deep into her, for her gaming ability? Shame she broke her back in that ball pit; now she might actually have to develop a skill...
Unfortunately, you're absolutely correct and, honestly, I don't have a problem with it: I'm not prudish or up-tight - far from it - I just have nowhere near the level of confidence that they clearly do. They have more nerve than I have, and remember: there is clearly a - very - large audience for them. The major issue, for me at least, is that a lot of people just assume we're all like that. Basically, if a female streamer/TH-camr wears anything other than a big, baggy sweater and loose-fitting bottoms, she's immediately dismissed as just another 'titty-streamer', regardless of her content, personality, etc. It's almost as infuriating as the idiots on here who criticise any female who screams/yells/shouts as embarrassing and staged, yet those same people seem to have no problems with male streamers who routinely roar their heads off, smash up their own equipment and blame the game as broken/bugged/glitched because they screwed up.
