The oversharpening and overprocessing (contrast, blues, saturation) on 14 Pro hurt my soul. I regret switching from 13 Pro 😭

I think a comparison between ProRaw on both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro would have been more accurate. Comparing the 13 Pro's JPEG to the 14 Pro's ProRaw doesn't seem too fair.
Same, I've been shooting ProRAW on my Iphone 13 Pro and they're much better than the JPEGS. This isn't an accurate test.
@@chinitopinoy1726 agreed. gotta compare apples to apples otherwise it just doesn't make since. i can do a comparison video on fuji raw vs sony jpegs. but what does that achieve? 13 proraw vs 14 proraw. that's where it's at. but hey 🤷♂
@@jeffthatcherphotography the iPhone 13 Pro RAWs are pretty good and I upscale them with Topaz Photo AI if need be. Takes an extra step but it saves me the money from upgrading! I’ll wait for the IPhone 15 Ultra. I want an evolution in video recording like 4K 120 or 4K 240 fps (even if just in short bursts).
We are talking about details. So I don't think the 13 pro max ProRAW would be more detailed as it's also 12 megapixels, it just gives you more room for professional editing.

The stabilization on the iPhone 14 pro is INSANE😮🔥
The 13 pro has a sort of realism to it where as the 14 is a bit over processed. The 14 seems to have better video but that’s a slight edge on upgrading. It’s the fact that it’s too close to call so I will be waiting on the 15 pro max 😅

The 14 pro's contrast was set to what an 8th grader would set it to after playig around with photoshop for the first time lol
I thought I was the only one that thought the 13’s color looks better than the 14. Overall the main big difference I see is just the photo category. The 14 takes better photos, I’m good with my 12 mini for now 🙂

The 13 Pro colors in video looks more natural, more flat. 14 Pro colors in video are more contrasty and oversharpened. In the photo section is the opposite situation, 13 Pro photos are contrasty and oversharpened and on 14 Pro more natural and flat. It looks like Apple mismatch the photo/video processing for the phones :D
I think it’d be cooler if we had some reference video/photos to compare with. Something shot with a higher quality camera and then edited to suit the scene if possible. Otherwise it’s not easy to tell what’s more accurate since your videos are also color corrected (not the phone videos the one you make the video with)
Are the moment lenses compatible with the 14 pro’s?
Dynamic Range in video looks worse on iPhone 14 Pro and it also oversharpens around the edges. Iphone 13 looks way more natural with video
I have an Iphone 13 Pro Max and I am sure that I need to wait at least 2 or 3 more years to see any *real* improvements to the camera. My Iphone is still going strong like on day 1 so I‘ll wait for the Iphone 16 or 17

The only difference I see in video is the colours, and surprisingly I like the 13's colors.
But those 48MP photos are better than standard 12MP photos of the 13 but on pixel binned photos vs the 13s it's just the same
iPhone 14 pro/max is good but not worth the upgrade if you have the 13 pro/max

isn't it about time we see some version 3 of your lens systems to compensate for the bigger sensors/optics in newers phones, so that we dont get vignetting on them as much, its clear that phone cameras are getting bigger and the current lens are almost out of date and not compatible with new phones....
If u are watching this take my advice and go for the 13pro max. That's if you generally edit your videos afterwards and apply filters or do colour grading
Go with the 14 pro max if u just want to post immediately

I would be pissed off replacing 13 pro with 14 pro, it is just paying twice for the same phone. However for me it was upgrade from X max, which is noticeable.

There's really no improvement worth upgrading to, in my opinion. The phone does not have 2x better low light capabilities. The phone can just go to a higher ISO of 12500, which is twice as high as the 13 so they claim its 2x better overall, which is false. The action cam is cool, but the normal video stabilization is so good naturally why film 2.8k cropped, when 4k 60fps looks just as stable? Cinematic is a gimmick too me, but being able to shot it in 4k now is nice, I guess. ProRes still limited to 4k 30fps, while certain apps allow for 4k 60fps, so that's pathetic Apple couldn't figure that out. Slow motion has changed since the 11, 240fps and 120fps at 1080p while Sony figured out 4k 120fps like 2 years ago. The tele lens is a joke, why keep the 3x when the cropped 2x looks good. Should have changed the 3x to either a 4x or 5x to make the tele standout more. Timelapse is also unchanged, wish they allowed for a ProRes/ProRaw Timelapse but I guess the A16 isn't that powerful yet. Overall if you have a 12 or 13 and haven't mastered your cameras capabilities, don't upgrade. If your a generic phone user, I really wouldn't upgrade. Arguably the most insignificant, little improved iPhone to date. Overall still a great phone per usual Apple fashion, just not a great or even good improvement.

I personally like the tele lens because I use it as a creative different framing tool rather that a zoom. That is its purpose in my opinion. In the next models I would like to see something like a 50mm with a sensor as good as the primary, or something closer to the 58mm of moment but incorporated in the phone. i think this zooming stuff is a gimmick and I’m glad apple didn’t follow that path so far
@@Randomshorts421 absolutely, I would say anything from the 11 and older is worth it.
@@anthonylynchmusic Apple could copy Sony and use their adjustable optical zoom. They can go from 85mm-125mm, all completely natively with the optics. Basically 3.2x-5.2x zoom, but all optical zoom so no loss in quality. But I also think the cropped 2x is a in the 50mm range.

14 wins in that category. It's the only real significant improvement on the phone. 14 ProRaw with the 48mp captures so much detail it's not even close.
@@superdutyzack I get it. But I still get pretty good results shooting ProRAW on iPhone 13 Pro, then I can upscale that RAW using Topaz Photo AI with good results. Obviously won’t be as good as IPhone 14 Pro and takes an extra step but not worth the upgrade for me. I’ll wait for IPhone 15 Ultra for 4K 120, 4K 240 slowmotion and 10X periscope zoom.
@@chinitopinoy1726 I'm highly doubtful the 15 Ultra will have those improvements, but I'd agree the upgrade from 13 to 14 ain't worth it.
@@superdutyzack 4K 120 and 4K 240 was found in an iOS 14 beta code way back before the iPhone 12 Pro release. They probably are figuring out a way to allow that super frame rate recording without overheating (not stable yet). If it doesn’t come next year, it will come in the future (2 or 3 years from now). Xperia 1 IV can already do 4K 120.
However, the periscope 10X zoom is more likely next year.
@@chinitopinoy1726 I think the phone is way more than capable of filming 4k 120fps, probably not 4k 240fps. If the Iphone can do ProRes video which is way more demanding than 4k 120fps and 240fps should be doable. But frankly, I just don't think it interests them enough.
Periscope would be nice although 10x isn't necessary, I'd rather have a really good 5x with a large image sensor for better image quality than a Periscope that utilizes a smaller image sensor.

1:33 look at the sky, the 14 have higher sky saturation. 1:50 (the same on 3:28) the 14 have more contrast (bad).
4:17 TERRIBLE sharpenning on the 14 compared to the same shoot from 13 (at 4:13)

I loved my 13 Pro Max but bought the 14 Pro Max. I regretted that decision…not only did the 14 Pro Max not last anywhere as long but the pictures were considerably worse, too.
Maybe updates fixed these issues but I returned the 14 PM and got my 13 PM back.

iPhone 14 stills look way better, but the video looks way less artificially sharpened on the 13. It’s like they couldn’t get a good image pixel binning the 48 megapixel sensor so they just cranked the sharpness to 100!

It’s not a 48 megapixel sensor, it’s still 12 MP. It uses a quad bayer array to split the pixels into 4 to get that resolution for photos.

I get iPhone is y'all's bread and butter, but please remember you still have customers who don't use iPhones. I would LOVE to see videos like this with Samsung. I would LOVE to see videos showing your lenses on the new Samsung phones. Y'all just have up on them. Again I get that y'all only support iPhone these days, but you have to remember there are customers with y'all's gear and lense that don't use iPhone. I haven't used the moment lenses I have since I had an S10 and it's bc I don't want to buy a case for my S22 ultra, bc I have no clue what the lenses will look like in the bigger phone lens. 🤦
