- For all the happiness I feel. - For all the clarity I gain. - For all the confusion that's lifted. - For all the smiles I make. - For all the strength and conviction I gain, to walk this path from listening to your teachings, may they be amplified a million times, in the form of the richest blessings and positive vibrations that you receive. THANK YOU.
Thank you Ajahn. I love hearing the story of your new cat because it reminds me of my cat. Her name is Willow. I try to chant the Metta Sutta to her daily. Wishing you peace all the way from Palm Desert, California. 🙏🏼
Recently I’ve been practicing very simply going from the conditioned directly and immediately into the unconditioned-Realizing the unconditioned over and over and over all day every day. This has completely changed my life. I’ve been able to do this ever since I saw the unconditioned directly, clear as my own two hands, and resolved to never allow any doubt about this direct path to liberation here and now to arise again. It really is as the Buddha says, “the stilling of all formations” and as Ajahn Chah said “realizing the reality of non-grasping” Ultimate Reality is this present awareness, unconditioned by anything (greed, hatred, delusion, doubt, experiences, substances, states, relationship, conversions, anything). This present awareness, free of any and all conditions, is completely imperturbable. There is nowhere to go and nothing to get. It’s right here, growing in bliss and brightness with every moment we let go of conditions and conditioning. Once seen, it’s easy, fun, and free
I have listened many times over from 26:06 to the end. It clears and brightens my mind giving me new understanding each time I listen. I am so, so grateful…….🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Ajahn, this is a really interesting and insightful talk, thank you. I often get hung up on the rebirth thing, getting stuck trying to achieve something like stream-entry and causing myself suffering. I have found it helpful not to think about it too much, and just to concentrate on developing Sila, Samhadi, Panna instead. It's good to occasionaly be reminded of what is at stake, however. Sadhu!
Ajahn can you address this question for me. I am struggling to understand the juxtaposition of non-self and rebirth. If there is not a self what actually gets reincarnated?
Subtle mind continuum… your mind essentially. Considering ghosts is a good starting point for ‘getting it’ they’re not the physical body right… but they continued to exist after a persons death. What is that? If people are more mindful, less attached, they’ll move onto another birth. Many people dream of and have conversations with deceased relatives in the days immediately after their death, but then no more, once they’ve moved on.
@@AjahnAchalo Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of writing to you many years ago but could not find an address! So I can deduce from your statement that there is in fact a self - obviously not a phsyical body - but an essence/mind. Enjoying these Q and As. Saddu.

I wouldn’t call it a ‘self’ though.
@@AjahnAchalo It would be great if you could go into this in more depth in a video.
Hello Ajahn, thanks for the talk. where did you hear about ADun's experiences?
From Ajahn Dtun himself, in person, 22 years ago.
