    Hello Nick,
    Good to see you again. Imagine it is a little aggravating when the customer doesn't have the correct weights and measurements on their loads. The new flag looks good. Happy to see the Battleship is pulling well for you. Got to love having the trouble where you were, and not in the middle of nowhere, Keep keeping it real Bro, say hello to Pops. Cheers to you and all your subscribers! Peace.

      It's slightly aggravating, but it happens so often that we've gotten pretty used to it. We always pad our permits for extra weight, just for that reason...unfortunately, this thing was just SO much heavier than expected, there wasn't anything we could do.

    I worked for a crane company driving truck. I also after a few years was one who stayed on site till the crane was in the air or loaded all out. I would be the one take the house part on the larger cranes. I would take the tracks and everything on the 80 ton crawlers. knock the boom out and counter waight off and roll with it. I will have to say again I like the way you go into detail on your videos so peaple know what your talking about keep up the great work my friend

    The track is a little more then the one you hauled before and a little bigger then the tracks you hauling now.
    That is a great habit to keep an eye on your Battle Ship just to make sure its running like it started. Smooth.

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem wasn't the weight, it was Texas. But yeah, it was bigger than the last one we did for sure.

    • @JrFlexing909
      @JrFlexing909 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Texas weight law wanted you to have more wheels on the ground to balance the weight?

  • @njovwevnjweV

    Would you ever consider putting a 5th axle on the trailer? Or would it not get used enough to make it worthwhile? I'm assuming you would lose some storage space on the trailer doing that.

      They might not, but someday you're going to get the DOT officer who is going to cut all your 1/2" chain securement value down, and you'll end up on the hook for a huge, undersecured load ticket.

    @NickMordaunt I had a bad accident last year which ended in a rollover. Are there any company's you know of that I could possibly work with. thanks in advance.

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming since you're asking, it was an at-fault accident?

    • @bbodybeast984
      @bbodybeast984 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick Mordaunt yes I was the only party involved. the right steer tire blew as I was changing lanes. and I went into a guard rail doing 65 and down a hill side ways into a tree. the company put me at fault because they said it was a preventable accident.

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I gotcha. I'm sure most companies have a policy involving at-fault accidents, but unfortunately, I'm probably not the best person to ask. I would recommend just calling the recruiting department of a bunch of companies. See what they have to say, because every company has different guidelines.

    Thats kind of embarrassing that the crane rental company told you the wrong weight of their own equipment. LOL

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the disconnect came from the company that actually was responsible for setting up the shipping of them. The guys at the yard seemed to know that the track was way heavier than our paperwork said.

    • @chad0856
      @chad0856 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      that would explain it. I used to drive for a crane rental company, and we hauled everything ourselves. After a while you start to memorize exactly what every piece of the equipment weighed. And whether or not you needed to run through the woods on the way to the next job ;)

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @bohunt9596 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since you guys deal with brokers through Landstar, that professional look and being a cut above the rest is integral on getting the calls out of the blue of "hey guys, I have this great load, wondering if you were interested" as well.

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'd be useless. DOT will not grant full rating for 1/2" chains on an aluminum trailer. The trailer tie down points are only rated for 6,600#'s. Which means that's the most rating I could get. Remember, your rating is based off of the lowest rated piece of equipment. All it would be for us is added weight we're carrying around.

      That is very cool Nick, different strokes for different strokes. Perhaps in your position working with your Pop, I'd feel the same way. I worked with my PoP when we started our Machine Shop together and they were the best 5 years of any job I ever had, including eventual ownership when PoP retired. I understand about the valve cover, we depend on you to make these judgement calls as to what content your video has. However, for me, I could spend at least 20 minutes just staring at the motor LoL.
