Deaths Door - Explosion immunity or regeneration, so your doing AoE damage the entire time while you're fighting. This assumes the game isnt a shitshoe that actively hates the player.
Yeah some of this immediately came to mind, but nonetheless creative because my God those are some unorthodox builds. It's probably something you would see in POE 2
I wonder if the Staff of Invisible Enemies can work on a character in the game that's planning to betray you and your party (if you can have one) later.
You think of this but then realize that the only versions of these weapons in the game are low level and the "drawbacks" you're building around don't scale late into the game, so by the time you get the items to make the build work, it becomes useless again.
And what's crazy when you buy the weapon or armor from the store, minutes later you kill a enemy and then they drop the same item if not a better version of the item making you look even more stupider

Of course, it would probably not work when they’re just standing there. It would require finagling and he would have to keep the staff’s senses under wraps.
Actually, an RPG about having to take a cursed item and build around its limitations would actually be pretty sick. "So the sword strikes me with lightning? So if I can find lightning immunity, I just need to get really, REALLY melee with my enemies? Might pair well with the Shield of Getting Jumped."
This is basically Noita. There are plenty of spells, and plenty of environmental hazards, that make a shitton of fire and/or explosions. If you can manage to get perks to be immune to both of those... well, you basically just go around nonstop *FIREBALL!* everything around you and don't get hurt by your own chaos
This is why pickpocketing is the OP strategy in this game. Sneak these anti-weapons into the pockets of your enemies, provoke them to attack you, and then they kill themselves without you lifting a finger against them.
The Copper Axe intended for tree chopping warding off the undead and eyes of demons while the actual Shortsword can barely handle the first slime you come across.

Probably the most normal RPG tools they had was the PK. Psychic elemental attacks pretty much just heir apparent to magic. So it's 3 psychic children, one of them a trained prince-warrior, and the prodigal son of a great inventor, fighting the incarnation of evil with household objects and kid's toys... and the occasional bazooka and ray gun.
If you don’t want any of the weapons, that’s fine. What about a shield? The Un-shield! Any time you use this shield to block an attack a small portion of the shield will break off into splinters that damage you for the same amount you blocked! On sale for 3 gold.
That just sounds like the backstory of an anime assassin low-key. Like, imagine if the last step of your assassin training involved killing a set number of people (whether they're actual targets or just former students of your master who dropped out and became their own assassins or whatever) and you were specifically instructed to murder them with just a toothpick. Don't get me wrong, Bullseye is one of my favorite Daredevil villains. But last time I checked, unless I've got some sort of Isekai power-up BS, I will *never* be Bullseye. Bare minimum, I'd barely make it to John Wick status.

The first one could be used for acting and pretending you’re weapon is deadly in battle, the lightning one could be spun around and stabbed into enemies- with a little goblin strapped to the handle, and the spear could be thrown at enemies, you tell them “catch!” And grab it, rendering you invisible. When you’re poor you make due with what you got.
Lol in 2023 I played Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Got my ass busted throughout the game almost until the end. Then I found out that the trash wooden sword you get in the beginning can be upgraded to become the most OP weapon in the game. My revenge didn't last long but damn it was fun. 😂

The invisibleness staff is good for fighting enemies that hurt you when you see them. Like a medusa or insanity eyes. striking the user with lightning is very helpful, if the enemy decides to steal your weapon, or it could be used as bait for thieves. it essentially acts as a power source and a lightning rod.
I will 100% add those to my D&D campaign! Alongside the Target Shield, a shield with a bull's eye motif that make it easier for enemies to attack you, and the Mirrored Bow, a magical bow that mirror it shots, every time you shoot an arrow at an enemy, the bow also shoots an arrow at you!

You could just hold the sword of relent by the blade and strike with the handle as a sort of bludgeon. The merchant said it would be like striking with a twig, so you would probably get higher damage by striking with the handle instead of the blade
Blade & Sorcery literally gives you rusty, chipped weapons as your first set in Crystal Hunt. Very quickly learned to use my fists only, use weapons exclusively for golems.

The part he didn't mention is that you get a massive debuff you try to play without a weapon. You get forced to collapse onto the ground completely paralyzed after you successfully land any hit on an enemy unarmed.
