Dude, you're not the first reactor to compare the Saami tribe with Santa's elves...and it actually makes sense from a "realistic" standpoint, when you think about it
After first watching it, Klaus quickly became not just one of my fav christmas movies, but even one of my fav movies ever. I've watched it several times on my own, and probably watched people react to it 10-15 times. And it's made me cry of joy at the emotional moments every single time I've watched it. Truly a masterpiece.
I've always firmly believed that even if Jesper didn't get the 6 thousand letters his dad wasn't going to just cut him off. He knows that the town is pretty much an impossible task, it's about him actually trying and not giving up. The fact that he would stay for the full year and keep trying, more than past postmen, I believe, would have been enough.
Agreed, I really like the father very much in this movie. Seems very much what he would do. Would even be proud of him for holding out a year. Only thing... he did let Jesper come to this point before the movie starts... Let's keep it that he was blinded by love until he couldn't ignore what was happening right in front of his eyes.
The studio used CGI lighting with hand drawn animation to create a unique style not seen before. 36:53 the director went to Norway and met with the Sami girl who voiced Margu and recorded all her lines in Norway through translation and mimicry. The director originally was going to have the Sami speak English but switched to have them speak Sami . It’s awesome the realism they did. 43:09 it’s performed by 27 yr oldSwedish singer Zara Larsson. 56:52 it’s interesting he died on the 12th year and there’s the 12 days of Christmas.JK Simmons also did a great job as Santa in Red One.
"Invisible" is a song by Swedish singer Zara Larsson for the soundtrack to the 2019 Netflix original animated film Klaus. It was written by Larsson, Justin Tranter, Alfonso González Aguilar, Caroline Pennell and Jussi Karvinen, the latter was the one who produced it.
Of course you are If someone says they havent watched there will be blood, oldboy or any other older mainstream movie I would say they are indeed late But yes, "better late than never" is what i would say in this context Atleast i think that is the english saying, better late than never?
@@アキコ2003The specific wording was "too late," which has a very different meaning than just "late." So, no - you're never too old to watch mainstream classics either. It'll be too late to be part of the cultural moment when those movies came out, but it's never too late to enjoy them.
Every day up till Christmas, yesterday; I've been watching this movie on my computer. It's just THAT good (Side Note: I side with all the reactors who believe Klaus didn't necessarily "die," he just...ascended. He LITERALLY became the spirit of Christmas)
Great reaction! This is one of my favorite Christmas movies! And I do agree with your initial statement, no one should ever do something just because its what people used to do, you should always have a good reason for everything that you do.
I genuinely love this movie so much it's probably my favorite Christmas movie it makes me smile so much and like you said I liked that it was a bit more grounded and the animation man it's so good. Santa Claus coming into existence because of the kids imagination and innocence really warmed my heart because that childlike wonder and optimism towards the world is something I always try to keep in my life.
I was genuinely surprised and delighted by how much I loved this movie the first time I saw it. Definitely a modern Christmas classic in my book! Edit for additional fun fact: Klaus is primarily hand drawn 2D animation! That's why it has the feel of more old school animation despite the shading making it look like it could have been 3D digital animation.
I remeber we had just moved into a new house and have very little money or possessions to have in it. Didnt help that it was this time of year and my parents couldnt keep up to buy us much for Chistmas that year. But they rented this movie from Redbox and bought a blu-ray player entirely for this and we watched it for the rest of the month
I love this movie with all my heart ❤️ I never expected a reaction from you tho But I enjoyed it so much, always love how you notice small details like animation or music! Not many people are talking about it
51:49 I mean remember, the whole reason Jesper is out here in the first place was cause his father wanted to light a fire under his son and teach him to actually take responsibility in the direction of his life, to not just be aimless and coasting on his family's wealth and prosperity. Granted Jesper had a selfish motivation to begin with but at the end of the day he had actually managed to build something with his situation that he was torn about whether to leave or not, not to mention actually coming clean about the false letters and deciding to stay even if he had left the cabin with an bad impression wanting to fix things with em, what's more responsible than that? I believe that in his time he in his own way had grown more than his father could of hoped for. This is my favorite christmas movie, the humor was great and the sad moments managing to hit well despite the somewhat comedic tone of the movie, it did the pacing rather well and I loved that Jesper's growth had felt real, his motivations were entirely selfish for the first half of the movie and even a smidge bit past that (i think, don't remember the time of each pivitol moment just the scenes) but his heart eventually ended up in the right place despite his protestations, even before that I think he was becoming a slightly less selfish person leading to his blunder with Klaus's family tree thing, not sure if postal academy Jesper would of felt as bad about that, he was still spoiled rich boy at that point
This is one of my go to movies for the Christmas holidays onlong with The Grinch, Santa Clause1,2,3, the new Grinch movie, Grandma got run over by a reindeer, frozen, Rise of the guardians, nightmare before Christmas and frosty the snowman/Rudolph the red nose reindeer and Home Alone
If you can find it i recommend “The Hogfather”. In summery, a group of universal taxmen hire an assassin to murder santa clause and so it’s up to Death to save christmas.
@@gabsrants oh yeah I don’t have a religious bone in my body, but I’ve always had a soft spot for a good Christmas movie 😂 Klaus is just a very good movie though, not just a good Christmas movie
He he... not 3D animation. Classic 2D combined with a digital lightning tech that makes the whole thing look loke a moving book illustration. It's amazing.

I agree. I think it was meant to be a humbling activity rather than an achievable goal.

fun fact! this movie is actually 2D!! it's astounding!!
That blows my mind! Makes the animation even more impressive knowing this now
This movie is top-tier of any Christmas movie
I haven't seen it!! Is there a streaming service where it's easily available?
@ either Netflix or fire stick

It amazes me every year how many people don't know what Santa means. Santa means Holy, so Saint Claus - Santa Claus
And now I know!

I’ve seen more newer reactions to Klaus this past month and it’s rating higher on Netflix than before z I’m so happy is making another come back
I absolutely love this movie, hope we get more animated movies with this kind of style
Same! I can’t recall another movie either visuals like this

It’s definitely one I’ll be revisiting every year!
Modern Christmas masterpiece ❤💚
I can’t remember a Christmas movie this good released in the last 20 years
This movie made me UGLY CRY when I watched it, incredible newer addition to the Christmas canon of movies

Funfact: the Saami are a real Tribe in Europe.
It's true, I was even able to find the Saami language through Google translate
So glad you reacted to this, I absolutely loved this movie
I enjoyed it so much! It’s not popping off views wise, but I’m glad I reacted to it
Watching reactions to this is a highlight of my youtube feed every Christmas season. So much can be said about how contagious doing good is.

My favourite Christmas movie ❤ love the art style, music, and all of jesper's manipulative charm turned genuine care
It’s such a simple story, but they told it so well. Loved the realistic take on the material
I love this movie with all my heart ❤️
I never expected a reaction from you tho

Can’t wait for the wild robot reaction too :D

If you can find it i recommend “The Hogfather”.

haven seen the movie and don't plan to but have a happy holiday
As an atheist who never believed in Santa, this one is worth it. But you do you.
@@gabsrants I have also been an atheist all my life but I just don't want to watch that movie
@lasseehrenreich5502 no judgement here - there's a lot of great media I don't like because it just doesn't hit a nerve.
@lasseehrenreich5502you will be touched, especially the end

Zara Larsson sings Invisible one of my favorite songs.
Love this movie. The ending gets me everytime
I love that this movie has Norm Macdonald in it! RIP
happy holidays everyone!! love this movie
Great reaction! Merry Christmas!
oh, fuck yeah, this is gonna be good
Another film that has a similar story is Raskin Bass’ Santa Claus is Comin’ to town!
Worth a watch!
I like your sweater
Thank you!
16:18 I also recommend Red One! It was a fun movie
This movie is actually all 2d
That’s super impressive then. I still feel like there’s an element of 3D involved though
Ong thanks for telling me it was up!
I’m getting that graphic novel! Thank you!
I hope you enjoy it!

HEYY I haven't seen this guy since he reacted to amphibia!! >:0 (that's my problem, I know)
Oh wow going way back 😂
@MikeyVenture yup xD
Suggestion for an animated film "Ernest and Celestine"
44:25
This movie makes me miss norm Mcdonald even more
I’m annoyed I didn’t talk about the voice acting more. I was so tired by the end I totally forgot 😂 He was fantastic in this movie
Please react to the indie series "Monkey Wrench" and "Metal family" 🙏🙏🙏
