    Very Cool to see you go from Vudoo to CZ. I have been running CZ and always wanted to give a vudoo a go but I honestly just LOVE how smooth this thing is. You cannot go wrong with a cz457 for the money.

      Thanks Zak! Yep, still loving the rifle...Shot a match this past weekend and placed 5th out of 35 shooters which is great for me! CZ ran flawlessly and I outshot a fellow shooter in a head to head quick clean challenge which was part of the match because this thing is so smooth as you said. Thanks for watching my friend!

      Hi John! Man thanks for the kind words, and glad I was able to help you out! Hate to say it, but I've actually gone to a Bergara B14-R, just because I did miss having a 700 footprint action, but believe me, the CZ was an absolute joy to shoot. I'll have the Bergara review soon, and thanks for watching my friend!

    I've git a CZ 455 in PDC Chassis,CZ 455 MTR in Wood Stock,Savage Mark II in Boyd's stock and a Ruger Precision in stock chassis and the Ruger is the smoothest bolt and shoots equally as well as the previous 3 with SK Match Longe.Ive shot head up with 3 other Guys shooting Voodois from 50 yds to 330 yards and 2 others at 600 .yds.With all that said none of these will shoot with my Stiller and Lija barrel.
    Great Video. THANK YOU

    Because of being a Lefty I had to try the Vudoo 1st, then RimX, and now CZ457 and Anschutz 1761. The Vudoo had a very ruff chamber and throat which after many rounds (even with super regular cleaning) gradually became impossible to be reliable- sent back to Vudoo and they wanted to ream out the chamber and blamed me. Sold back to Vudoo. RimX was a nightmare with FTF, FTE even after multiple trips to RimX and a new receiver .... sold and forgot about ASAP!
    CZ 457 lefty Varmint is very good with reliability with feeding and extracting - better than either the two above. Accuracy is as good or (mostly) better than Vudoo and RimX at 100+ yards. The action is sweet (out of the box) and faster than 90 degree Rem Actions in Vudoo and (by a large margin) RimX. The action design super well thought out and easy customizable. Just Love It !
    The Anschutz action not as fast and not as reliable. Also limited to 5 rnd mags. ....err but is my most accurate 22lr I have shot!
    Last but not least! The shit-load of money $$$ for the Vudoo and or RimX is silly stupid compared to CZ 457 or even the Anschutz 1761.
    Unfortunately made in USA with custom rifle makers (vudoo/Rimx)are more fluff than puff in the cold light of day. IMHO this was super disappointed!

      HI AWF! I hope your last statement wasn't that you were disappointed in my video? If so, then sorry. I have to agree that so far I'm loving my CZ and have shot very well in competition with it. I may look at a Bergara as well just to give everyone a good idea of the options out there. Just not into the Anschutz as you mentioned because I think they are more for bench rest than PRS and I see no one running them. Also agree that Vudoo is losing favor with shooters like us, who expect what they say we'll get for that much money. Anyway, thanks for watching my friend and shoot straight!

      @@The4GunGuy I loved your video. The your experience is simular to mine with Vudoo ... and because CZ, anschutz ... started a year a go importing leftys I finally found decent 22lr rifles. Just like you I learned the hard way with boutique brands (Vudoo). I guess I was not alone so thank you ! PS: The Bergara I had, had a great 90 degree action but a crap barrel. Thanks Again ! CC

      @The4GunGuy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi JustSayinUSN! Thanks for the kind words, I've moved to a Bergara B14 22LR, but still really enjoyed the CZ and many are still shooting it. The Vudoo for me was a "new shiny thing" that was VERY finicky. If you go with the CZ, DO NOT BUY THE MDT CHASSIS...You will regret that mag well and will have to get a gunsmith (or you if you're good with that kind of work) to remove material from the front of that mag well. Honestly, I'd go with a stock (Manners, etc...) and just run a barricade stop ARCA attachment. Anyway, the barrel is custom from my local gunsmith and he doesn't do much outside work, but you should be able to find someone locally to your area (or if you do live in the Houston area, email me and I'll give you his information the3gunguy@gmail.com) to do the barrel. It's just a straight taper Bartlein I believe or maybe it was a Kreiger? Hope this all helps and thanks for watching my friend!

    Hello, a very interesting video. I too have a CZ457 MTR in an MDT ACC chassis. However, except for the chassis on the gun, everything has remained original. In Europe we have very limited options to convert a rifle as the aftermarket is very limited. Parts would have to be imported from the USA, which on the one hand takes an extremely long time and on the other hand becomes very expensive.
    I also have the "short" magazine lever problem on my rifle. Unfortunately, a longer magazine lever is not available in Europe. An import from the USA would cost about 200 USD. Thus, I have to come to terms with this disadvantage.
    Regarding bolt action problems, I can only report that it has not occurred on my rifle so far, despite shooting about 2000 rounds.
    Many greetings from Austria, Hans

      Hello Hans! I'm going to do a follow-up video on the machining my friend did for me on the ACC chassis so I can now get to the standard mag release (I still use an extended though). I just bought a 457 varmint (non MTR) and plan to do pretty much what you have done here. You have proved here that going the customization route can achieve as good (actually better) results than buying a Vudoo or RimX or Anschutz. Besides it is more fun. I will first try a YoDave trigger spring before swapping for a Timney. What is your headspace with that barrel?

    • @The4GunGuy
      @The4GunGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi CAC! Yeah, at the end of the day I saved about $1,000 going with the CZ which is the cost of the Vudoo barreled action. Very happy with the accuracy and bolt operation as well. I can reach out to my gunsmith and ask about the headspace, but since he reamed it with the bullet seated IN the lands quite a bit to reduce flyers (and it works), there is most likely minimal headspace. Thanks for watching my friend!

    • @cacinaz8802
      @cacinaz8802 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@The4GunGuy Ah, that tells me the gunsmith reamed as a tight match chamber. Excellent! My understanding is that headspace is measured at the rim, not like centerfire cartridges at the tip. Some ammo has a thicker rim and is hard to chamber. But the match chambers are tighter so the bullet touches (jams?) the lands. It pays to go with one of these aftermarket barrels. I am considering a Lilja.

  • @Womfat
    @Womfat ปีที่แล้ว

    Very interesting you made the switch to a 457, where I did the opposite. I suspect you're correct in saying the feeding issues were probably the ACC not having the proper adjustments to get it perfectly set up. I've been very happy with my Vudoo, but I agree the 457 is generally more reliable than any 700 footprint RF.
    Is your Triggercam going to be sent back to fix the battery issue? One of my biggest complaints about it is the fact that the battery is factory sealed and not user-replaceable!

    • @The4GunGuy
      @The4GunGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Womfat! Regarding the CZ switch, yeah, I was just really tired of messing with the Vudoo. I'm really finding that it's the barrel and the ammo for technical accuracy. All other things (chassis/stock, trigger, tuner, etc...) help the shooter (yes, I said tuner). I finally sent the TriggerCam back for the battery, but I actually should have sent it back way sooner for the App fix. I understand that apps need to be updated and I had done all that but still couldn't get it to show up on my mobile or iPad. They were very nice about it, BUT, when I got the new unit as I think I said in the video, I needed to go to HD to get a longer screw to tighten it down on my ZCO. Hey thanks for watching my friend!

      Hi OneGuy! Yeah, that's why I've moved on to the CZ 457. Other guys run Vudoos with no issues, and I think a lot of my issues from a loading perspective was with the chassis, BUT the other issues were the action itself so decided to switch. Thanks for watching my friend!

    @Cojiii1959 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This makes no sense. It’s like winning a gold medal and having it bronzed.
    Feeding issues may be because the Vudoo actually seats the round in the rifling the last 1mm. CZ is a great gun but not even close to the Vudoo it terms of smoothness and overall rock solid build. You’ve essentially taken a CZ and turned it back into a Vudoo.
    Love my Vudoo for target and CZ 457 pro varmint for groundhogs!

    • @The4GunGuy
      @The4GunGuy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Cojiii! I think the larger issue with all these rifles is that when we purchase them, we immediately 'upgrade' them with a new barrel, chassis/stock, trigger, etc..., changing the original operation of the rifle in a good or bad way. My biggest complaint with the Vudoo was the feeding issues with my new barrel, which was far more accurate than the Kukri barrel that came with the rifle, and I just got tired of tinkering with the thing. The issue with the CZ ended up being the MDT ACC chassis and it's lack of room to reach the mag release and not having other good options for chassis that I would like. I'm running a Bergara B14 now, in a MPA Matrix Pro chassis with the same barrel you see in this video and it is running great. Now, I had to have my gunsmith virtually rebuild the Bergara bolt because it's so bad out of the box, but I now have confidence in my 22LR. The Vudoo is a great rifle, no question about it, but it just didn't work out for me. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Why buy a gun then change every part of it lol 😂

    • @The4GunGuy
      @The4GunGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ryan! Good point, but it all really boils down to the action...Period. We buy the action that we hope with work for us and then build around it. A stock CZ AT1 doesn't stand a chance in PRS competition, so we upgrade the stock/chassis, add the scope mount so we can reach out beyond the normal 250 yd range of the stock rifle, add a better trigger to reduce the trigger weight from 4 lbs down to 8 oz, and change out the barrel so we can accurately reach out to 450 yds if needed. BUT, to your point, if all you want to do is plink or shoot prairie dogs at 150 yds, then the stock AT1 will suit you well. Thanks for watching my friend!
